Su Xian’er cried even louder upon hearing this!

Su Pan’er rely stood at a distance, silently observing the scene that seed like a farce unfolding before her.

Seeing one raging with anger and the other wailing bitterly, she couldn’t help but cough twice, "Did you and your husband co to my house today just to have a fight?"

Her words slightly quenched Lui Muyi’s rage.

He quickly wiped his face, "No, I ca today to discuss sothing with Qin Yi." He glanced at Su Xian’er, a look of deep loathing crossing his eyes, then turned back to Qin Yi, "Can we talk privately?"

"Sure! Co this way, please."

Qin Yi readily agreed, leading Lui Muyi to a side room on the other side.

Leaving Su Xian’er and Su Pan’er alone there.

Once the two n had left, Su Xian’er cried even louder.

But Su Pan’er had no intention of comforting this woman who had designs on her own husband, even though she was her Fifth Sister. Deep down, she held no fondness for her and, without a word, turned and walked into a wing room in the opposite direction of where Qin Yi had gone.

As she pushed open the door of the room, she saw Xiao Song, Zhou Qiang, and Zhang Qiaoxi playing with Little Yan Yan. Xiao Min, who was expecting her second child, hurriedly rose to greet her.

"Madam, you’re back."

"Yes, I’m back. Sit down. You’re carrying a big belly; resting more is only sensible."

Su Pan’er quickly stopped her from bowing in homage.

Xiao Song was the child of Xiao Liu and Qingwen, and Zhang Qiaoxi was born to Xiao Min. Zhou Qiang was Aunt Zhou’s child and Wang Shan was Aunt Wang’s; both were also Yan Yan’s children fed by the sa wet nurse.

On usual days, these children would all gather together to play with Little Yan Yan.

Xiao Min expressed her gratitude, "Thank you, Madam, for your consideration. Just now... your servant was worried about disturbing the young lady, so I ca out to check."

Clearly, the senseless quarrel of the couple had indeed alard quite a few people.

"It doesn’t matter, they have both stopped now."

Su Pan’er casually replied.

Just as Su Xian’er, who had stopped crying, followed Su Pan’er and walked into the room, she heard this remark and imdiately her face changed, glaring at Su Pan’er with her red eyes.

Su Pan’er seed completely oblivious, giving her a brief indifferent glance and bending down to take Little Yan Yan’s hand.

"Yan Yan, my dear, have you finished writing your characters for today?"

Little Yan Yan had recently started learning to write, which prompted Su Pan’er to ask.

Children are extrely sensitive.

Although only four years old, Little Yan Yan clearly beca cautious around Su Xian’er.

She looked at Su Xian’er, then shook her head, stepped forward, and clung onto Su Pan’er’s leg, hanging onto her, "Mother, Yan Yan is scared, it was so noisy outside and soone was crying. What exactly happened outside, Mother?"

During her words, her eyes flickered cunningly, innocently blinking at Su Xian’er again and again.

Her actions embodied the heart of a little girl,

which only served to infuriate Su Xian’er, causing her face to alternate between shades of blue and white.

"So sharp-tongued at such a young age, Fourth Sister, your daughter indeed takes after you." As she spoke, she gently wiped her eyes with a handkerchief, "I, Su Xian’er, am also fated with hardship, to unexpectedly end up with a man who beats won. It would be better for to die..."

Her eyes reddened once more.

Su Pan’er, however, said nothing, indifferently glanced at her, and took Little Yan Yan’s hand as they headed to the rear courtyard.

Did Su Xian’er really think everyone else was a fool?

Although Lui Muyi had started out in the underworld and had nurous enforcers in his household, also operating businesses like eateries and brothels, over the past two or three years, he had whitewashed his operations and gradually shifted his business to other industries. His business was still thriving.

But he himself was a man of great self-control.

She would always rember the first ti she t him, when she and Lui Muyi competed in a drinking contest!

She didn’t believe a word Su Xian’er said!

Still, her curiosity was killing her: what exactly had Su Xian’er said to piss off Lui Muyi so much that he couldn’t even pretend to be a polite guest and went straight for Su Xian’er with his fists?

It beca clear to her that Lui Muyi had previously gone for the kill with Su Xian’er!

It was not until Su Pan’er led Little Yanyan out of sight behind the door that Su Xian’er realized she’d been ignored!

She was so angry she could tear Su Pan’er’s face to shreds right then and there, but in the end, she held back.

A sneer ford in her heart!

"Look at you being so arrogant. After today, I’ll watch you slowly cry your eyes out!"

Suddenly, she unexpectedly found herself looking forward to tonight’s spring breeze!

Su Pan’er, of course, had no idea about Su Xian’er’s thoughts. She supervised Little Yanyan practicing writing characters with a twig in the sand until they had practiced for a full hour before taking a break.

Just then, a newly bought maidservant nad Bao’er ca to report that the al was ready, prompting Su Pan’er to take Little Yanyan by the hand and leave the room.

Today, she had specifically instructed the kitchen not to add more dishes.

When Qin Yi and Lui Muyi took their seats at the table, both of their faces changed color, but they quickly adjusted and silently picked up their bowls.

Not only was there no at on the table, no wine, and no rice, but there were just a few green vegetables and a big plate of cone-shaped cornbread.

Little Yanyan wasn’t picky; she picked up the cone-shaped cornbread and started nibbling happily.

But Su Xian’er’s changed complexion took a long ti to return to normal, and she didn’t touch her chopsticks.

Su Pan’er didn’t pay her any mind and just helped Little Yanyan put so green vegetables into her bowl, eating deliciously.

Secretly, however, she hoped Su Xian’er would make a fuss. If she really started a commotion, she would just kick her out directly, seeing how she would still sche to snatch her man!

But Su Xian’er proved to have first-class endurance, as she actually picked up the cone-shaped cornbread and ate in silence.

The Su family was considered a big family back in Luoshan Village. Although Su Xian’er had worked under Su Yue’er and suffered so hardships, she had traveled north and south with Lui Muyi for many years. Despite enduring so hardships, she hadn’t had cone-shaped cornbread and green vegetables for many years.

Faced with this al, she found the cornbread unbearably coarse, and the rough grains scratched painfully as they passed through her throat.

Barely managing to eat one, she already had tears streaming down her face and refused to lift her chopsticks again.

Yet, she secretly vowed to head out later and buy so fine flour to eat from a neighboring place.

The al ended in silence among the diners.

After settling Little Yanyan for the night and returning to her room, Su Pan’er was surprised to find that Qin Yi hadn’t gone to bed yet.

Seeing her enter the room, he scooped Su Pan’er up without a word and threw her onto the bed, then pressed his body down onto hers.

He really threw her!

Even though the bed was soft, Su Pan’er’s bottom still felt sore from the throw.

She was at a loss for words, having never been treated like this before in her life!

He had the audacity to do this to her!

She humd lowly as she sat up, looking at him with dissatisfaction.

"What’s the matter with you? What happened?"

"Nothing, I was waiting for you!"

Qin Yi’s response ca through gnashed teeth, and his arms and legs instinctively wrapped around her again, pulling Su Pan’er towards the head of the bed with a firm grasp.
