Who were these n that were pursuing them and where did they co from?

If they were Prince Xuan’s forces, they seed to be in small numbers. Qin Hong, knowing her skills, would never send just a few n against her!

But if they were not from Prince Xuan’s forces, who sent them?

Were they aiming to capture or kill them?

With a quick stream of thoughts, she leapt into a small courtyard and continued using the dense foliage for cover.

She still playfully teased Ke’er to soothe his nerves, "After all, we are siblings, who would waste their ti with such nonsense?"

"What does ’nonsense’ an?"

Ke’er struggled and finally managed to break free from Su Pan’er’s grasp, "Let go! I can walk on my own."

Su Pan’er wanted to grab him again, but after a thought, she let him be.

"We should hurry. The fire is spreading fast and I’m holding Little Yanyan. We can’t delay!"

Unbeknownst to him, she was listening intently to the movents around them.

Soon, she heard a flurry of footsteps rushing towards them.

The path ahead did not lead to the Hall of Great Strength but towards Guanyin Temple!

The Guanyin Temple was located next to the burning Scripture Pavilion, and the fire was gradually spreading in this direction.

The novice monk who had co to alert everyone had clearly told everyone to go to the Hall of Great Strength. Apart from her and Ke’er, the only others heading in this wrong direction must be their pursuers!

"Understood! Didn’t you say we must hurry? Why are you standing there dazed?" Ke’er curiously looked at Su Pan’er.

Su Pan’er snapped back to reality. By now, she had identified the four pursuers’ direction, and again led Ke’er in another direction.

"This way, quick! You little rascal, this is a life-or-death escape, not so leisurely stroll!"

Ke’er, dragged along by her, was discontented, but realized the urgency of their escape and followed her orders.

The route that Su Pan’er chose was naturally the most advantageous for their escape.

But not too far away, they encountered a full square encircling corridor. Seeing their pursuers straight ahead, she scooped up Ke’er without explaining and leapt directly onto the rooftop, then sprinted away!

The four pursuers, realizing their cover was blown, drew their knives and gave chase.

Two of them also leapt onto the rooftop and continued their pursuit.

"Stop right there! If you don’t stop, don’t bla us for taking your lives!"

They roared angrily and charged with their knives.

Even if Su Ke were naive, he was aware that sothing was wrong at this point!

He closely watched the two pursuers and actively coordinated with Su Pan’er, using his own strength to alleviate her burden.

Su Pan’er initially did not want to inform him, but under these circumstances, she had no choice.

These n audaciously unsheathed their knives to kill. They seed not to be benevolent people! Su Pan’er secretly sentenced them to death in her heart.

Seeing that the path ahead led to a cliff with nowhere to go, and that the four pursuers were getting closer, Su Pan’er showed them no rcy. She suddenly flung Ke’er to the side and shouted.

"Stand firm!"

As she flung Ke’er out of the way, she suddenly reached up and removed a pearl hairpin from her hair. She crushed the jade bead attached to it, and scattered the fragnts, aiming them at the two n who had been closely following!

One of the n gave a muffled grunt and fell off the roof. The other man dodged most of the fragnts, but still slowed down after getting hit, falling into Su Pan’er’s trap.

Seeing the enemy at a disadvantage, Su Pan’er took the opportunity to kill!

She would naturally not give him the slightest chance to breathe. Almost as soon as the man on the roof stumbled, she sent the pearls flying once more!

"Ah!"

He scread in pain and also fell from the roof.

Having dealt with two n, she did not have a mont’s relief.

Ke’er, who had been flung away, was suffering!

Although he had learned so basic martial arts, Su Pan’er had been reluctant to teach him advanced techniques due to his young age and fear of damaging his foundation.

Now, as Ke’er was flung away by Su Pan’er, he barely managed to roll away from the two n rushing up from underneath the corridor, landing in the mud. By the ti Su Pan’er had dealt with the two n and jumped down from the roof, the two pursuers were in close pursuit and Ke’er was covered in dirt. Without holding back, Su Pan’er quickly drew the whip from her waist, whipping, wrapping, tugging, and throwing! The head of the man closest to Su Ke was then in a different location.

Su Pan’er used the sa tactic to deal with the other man.

Unexpectedly, one of the n who had fallen from the roof had only suffered minor injuries. Seeing Su Pan’er’s ferocity, he turned and fled!

A glint of killing intent flashed in Su Pan’er’s eyes as she removed a jade hairpin and threw it with all her might!

The man hadn’t even had ti to scream before the jade hairpin penetrated his skull from behind, and he fell down, motionless!

Having dealt with four n in quick succession, even the powerful Su Pan’er felt exhausted. Her body staggered, but she managed to steady herself by grabbing at a nearby pillar.

"Fourth Sister, are... are you okay?"

Ke’er grimaced in pain, but he ignored his own injuries and quickly checked on Su Pan’er’s condition.

"I’m fine, I just lost my breath!"

After catching her breath, Su Pan’er managed a weak smile, looking still pale, "I thought that since this is a Buddhist pure land, I should not kill. But it seems that I have been left with no choice..."

"Fourth Sister, they wanted to kill us. We were just defending ourselves. I’m sure Lord Buddha won’t bla us."

Ke’er winced in pain and rolled up his sleeve to find a large abrasion from rolling on the ground, coated with dirt, it was a sorry sight.

Seeing the fire getting closer, they didn’t have ti to deal with the bodies. Su Pan’er kicked the bodies into a location that would easily catch fire and pulled Ke’er to continue their escape.

"Let’s get out of here first, and then head to the Hall of Great Strength!"

Ke’er was in pain all over, but escaping was paramount now. No one had ti to care about minor injuries, but his speed noticeably decreased due to the pain.

In desperation, Su Pan’er used the sa strategy as before, scooping him up and sprinting towards the Hall of Great Strength.

The raging fire and billowing smoke made it very difficult to breathe and see. It was nightti and visibility was low.
