He squinted his eyes, watching Qin Yi do battle like a god of death with the bandits. His own cough just abated, the man in the white robe, asked with a smile the only diminutive lean old man who remained at his side, "Mr Jiang, do you think the techniques this person uses seem oddly familiar?"

Not only did Qin Yi’s style of martial arts look familiar to him, but even Qin Yi’s face. Thus, he let others go forward to help.

That old man, Mr. Jiang, with great concentration looked for a long while before finally turning around with an apologetic face and bowing, "It is my own incompetence. I only know dicine, as for the ability to recognize people... I am truly not adept."

The white-robed man burst out laughing heartily, but the next mont he began to cough violently again, appearing to be in great agony.

Mr. Jiang hurriedly ca forward to smooth his breathing.

"It’s frustrating that although I have dical skills, I cannot alleviate your pain, it really is... sigh!"

"Mr. Jiang, no need to bla yourself! Perhaps this is just fate!"

That white-robed man spoke with bitterness in his tone.

With the addition of several more people joining the fight, the murderous n naturally could not resist, quickly displaying signs of defeat.

After several of them were killed, one of the survivors blew a whistle!

The bandits imdiately ceased their desire to fight, fleeing quickly.

These people naturally gave chase, soon reaching the ship deck, and inside the room, calm was restored.

Qin Yi did not give chase. Instead, he quickly returned to the door, examining the beheaded body in detail. The blood-red look in his eyes quickly subsided. He kicked away the headless body and opened the door.

In the room, Su Pan’er had just finished a round of vomiting, feeling much better. But she had to muster up her strength, clutching her whip tightly, ready to fight at any mont. Unexpectedly, a whistle blew from outside, and then hurried footsteps receded into the distance.

Those people left?

Just as she was wondering, footsteps approached again.

After that, a familiar silhouette appeared at the doorway.

Upon seeing Qin Yi for the first ti, Su Pan’er felt weak and let her whip drop to the floor.

"Qin Yi..."

Qin Yi stepped into the room, hastily pulling her into his arms, "Pan’er, are you okay? Sorry, I’ve let you down. I ca too late!"

His whole body was trembling uncontrollably.

His teeth chattered, and he held her tightly. His eyes welled with tears, and this feeling of losing and then regaining sothing stirred waves in his heart, like a raging sea!

"No, not late at all!"

Su Pan’er hugged his broad shoulders tightly and closed her eyes.

"At the mont when I needed you, you ca back. It’s wonderful!"

It truly was wonderful...

She fell softly into his arms, allowing herself to relax. She couldn’t help but laugh!

How could Qin Yi not love Pan’er, who was so understanding and rational?

"Pan’er, Pan’er, my beloved Pan’er..."

He gave her a kiss on the cheek, "It’s good that you’re alright. If sothing had happened to you, it would have bothered for the rest of my life. How’s our baby doing, Pan’er? Pan’..."

But after a long ti, he got no response and couldn’t help but gently push her away.

Only then did he realise she was sleeping soundly, resting her head on his shoulder.

Qin Yi couldn’t help feeling both amused and helpless, and gently lifted her up. As he kicked open the door to enter the inner room, he was t with a pair of shining eyes.

Qin Yi was imdiately stunned!

After the incident, it was clear their ship wouldn’t be able to continue. That night, the rchant ship docked at the nearest harbour.

The bodies in the cabin were taken out and handed over to the local governnt for handling.

There were a lot of innocent people affected by this accident, including so mbers of the officials’ families. So people were taken away by the governnt for further investigation. What was previously a full cabin, was now more than half empty after the incident.

Qin Yi narrowly avoided being taken away thanks to so people vouching for him. They testified that he was the one who bravely resolved the crisis of the falling mast, he helped repair the damaged parts of the ship, and he helped vanquish the bandits.

So, Qin Yi managed to avoid unnecessary trouble.

anwhile, Su Pan’er was oblivious to all of this.

She slept soundly, undisturbed until the following noon, when the sll of food roused her.

"You’re awake? Good timing, the manager of the rchants’ team sent so food and drink to express his gratitude for us saving his life. Hurry get up and eat so!"

Qin Yi ca forward to help her dress.

"Hmm."

Su Pan’er could hear her stomach growling like a drum, "How long did I sleep? What happened to the rchant ship?"

"You’ve been sleeping since last night till now. It’s almost noon now. The rchant ship docked for repairs, and it has resud sailing by now."

Qin Yi was explaining while helping her out of the inner room.

"Oh, I see, I’ve been sleeping for so long, no wonder I’m starving, I feel like I could eat a whole cow. Hey, whose child is this?"

Surprisingly, in the outer room was a boy about ten years old. He was sitting prim and proper, a dignified look on his face.

Hearing Su Pan’er speaking, he quickly stood up from the small stool.

"Isn’t this the child you saved? How could you forget?"

Qin Yi laughed, helping her to sit down on the stool, and taking a seat next to her.

The child I saved?

Seeing those shining black eyes, the image of a grubby little street urchin floated into Su Pan’er’s mind...

"Oh, so you’re that little street urchin!"

As she spoke, she picked up her chopsticks and confidently picked up so green vegetables.

Ever since they boarded the ship, all they had had to eat was dry food plus dried at, jerkies, and jams. Occasionally, they could see so vegetables, but only Chinese cabbage. Oh, they call it Napa cabbage here!

Looking at the vibrant green leafy vegetables, her eyes lit up and she comfortably squinted them.

She reached out with her chopsticks once more, only to find that the child was sitting across from her, and lifting his bowl.

"What, are you going to stick around here? Shouldn’t you leave?"

The child, startled, dropped his chopsticks, scattering the greens all over the table.

"Pan’er, Little Feng is a bit timid, don’t scare him."

From the side, Qin Yi couldn’t bear to watch, quickly stepping in to defend him, "Try this, it’s a couple of green vegetable dishes, they are very appetizing and sll good, have a taste."

Su Pan’er looked at the green vegetables in her bowl, feeling a strong impulse to throw them at Qin Yi’s face.

"Didn’t you hear clearly? This little street child has been following us since Yongzhou City and even boarded the ship with us. Then he took the initiative to co to our room. Don’t you think he’s very suspicious? With ulterior motives?"

"No, I don’t have any malicious intentions."

Little Feng quickly defended himself, "I just wanted to return to Shengjing. But, I didn’t know which ship would go there, and no one was willing to tell . That day I overheard you sister and brother casually chatting, saying you were going to Shengjing, and the ship would sail after noon. So, so I followed all the way..."
