Dreams are plump and juicy! Reality is so bony!

Standing in front of the rubble overgrown with weeds, Su Pan’er was at a loss for words, unable to imagine how the walls shaking amidst the shrubs and the half-remaining roof swaying uncertainly could constitute the "three old rooms" Old Qin spoke of!

Qin Yi wasn’t faring any better!

After a few wobbles, he fell straight to the ground, instantly looking dejected.

"How could this happen? Is this God’s way of destroying , Qin Yi?"

Su Pan’er raised an eyebrow, and a slap flew straight across his face: "When God closes a door, He opens a window. Don’t talk such crap, get up and cheer up!"

The slap sent Qin Yi sprawling to the ground.

Qin Yi’s mouth twitched. Ignoring his dejection, he hastily rose and started yelling at Su Pan’er!

"Su Pan’er, can’t you behave like a woman, haven’t you heard that gentlen use words and not fists?"

"Bah! I am a woman. Have you not heard the saying that it’s hard to raise cowards and won?"

Su Pan’er couldn’t hide her amusent as she replied candidly.

Turning her gaze away from those few walls, she swung the firewood knife in her hand: "Leave the the house repairs to ! Ha ha, if you’re feeling free, how about taking care of tonight’s dinner? What do you say?"

With full zeal, Su Pan’er noticed the sun setting and began clearing space for their night’s stay.

As she spoke, she tied her sleeves and trouser legs, picked up the firewood knife in hand and began to mow the grass.

"Dinner..."

Qin Yi opened his mouth, then subconsciously shut it again.

Resigning himself, he moved a bit further to cook.

But as he turned around, he froze on the spot. Even a talented cook can’t do much without rice! In this case, he can’t cook without a stove!

There’s cornal, there’s a pot, but where is the stove?

"What are you looking at? Don’t we have to eat tonight?"

Su Pan’er’s impatient voice ca over.

No matter what, food cos first!

For food lover Su Pan’er, filling her stomach is the first priority. She didn’t want to go to bed hungry tonight!

"There is no stove..."

Qin Yi turned around and saw that the words stuck in his throat.

Within a short ti, Su Pan’er had cleared the weeds by the corner of the wall and moved so large stones to make a makeshift stove.

This brawny woman actually proved to be quite useful!

While Qin Yi was happy, a cheerful call from Qin Shuan’er ca from behind. The small girl ran fast.

"Third Uncle! Third Auntie! Shuan’er is here to see you!"

Su Pan’er turned her head and t Qin Shuan’er’s cheerful face.

Seeing her looking at her, Shuan’er quickly stopped, started fiddling with the sleeve of her clothes, and shyly lowered her head.

This made Su Pan’er soften and call out to her, "Shuan’er, why did you co here?"

"Dad and I ca to bring you so things!"

Qin Shuan’er sneaked a glance at her, raised her head and smiled sweetly.

"You guys moved so fast that I couldn’t catch up to you even after running for half a day."

Qin Yu, out of breath from running, wiped his sweat. He put down the basket backpack on his back, revealing the things inside: "You left in such a hurry that you left these things behind. I hurriedly brought them back to you."

Right!

Su Pan’er smacked her forehead. Earlier, when Qin Shuan’er stopped them at the entrance of the village, she was so busy running back that she randomly dropped the things her maiden family gave her by the roadside and asked Shuan’er to guard them while she went back.

As a result of the separation, she had been forgotten!

"It was Shuang’er’s mother who realized that Shuang’er was missing. She found her at the entrance of the village and discovered that you had brought back a lot of things. Shuang’er’s mother didn’t dare to say anything and quietly told to bring them over to you."

She randomly flipped through, green vegetables, fruits, soybeans, great beans... The quantity was quite substantial.

"Third Auntie, why didn’t you co looking for Shuang’er? After you left, those annoying devils in the village ca to bully Shuang’er again. Shuang’er threw stones at them to prevent them from ssing with her things. Poor Shuang’er dared not go anywhere, she stayed put and squatted at the entrance of the village waiting for you for half a day..."

Qin Shuan’er’s lips pouted, tears whirled in her bright and glistening eyes, her voice getting quieter and quieter.

Third Auntie said that she would protect her no matter what. But in the end...

"Shuang’er, it’s my fault. I won’t do it again. Is that okay?"

Su Pan’er felt embarrassed, her words contained an unnoticed gentleness.

Qin Shuan’er was instantly delighted and almost jumped up from the ground: "Okay! Third Auntie, you must keep your word!"

"I will!"

Su Pan’er couldn’t help but raise her hand to touch Qin Shuan’er, but she retracted her hand halfway: "Aren’t you supposed to call ’big sister’? Why did you start calling ’Third Auntie’ again?"

"My... my father doesn’t allow..."

Shuang’er said in a low voice, and glanced at Qin Yu, who was bowing his head.

Qin Yu was comforting Qin Yi with a concerned face: "Although this place is a bit ssy, you guys finally have a ho, right? Although it’s difficult right now, life goes on! Who hasn’t had to endure hardship?"

Qin Yi could only reply with a bitter smile, not refuting: "Thank you for your enlightennt, brother. I understand."

Indeed, because he understood, he bit the bullet and separated the stoves, despite having less stuff and his overwhelming debts.

Seeing that Qin Yi was not enthusiastic about the conversation, Qin Yu gave a hearty laugh. He then looked over and saw Su Pan’er energetically swinging her arms to cut the grass. He took off his outer garnt and started stretching his wrists.

"I’ll help with weeding too. It’ll be faster if we work together."

"This... This wouldn’t be right, big brother..."

As Qin Yi tried to refute, he was interrupted by Su Pan’er: "We’re all brothers here, why are you acting so formal towards your elder brother? Big brother, he’s so damn stupid, studying too much has made him an idiot. Ignore him!"

After she said that, she even gave him a stare.

Su Pan’er’s straightforward personality was actually pleasing to Qin Yu, the honest man: "You’re right, third brother’s wife. Third brother, you should learn from her more often!"

With that, he squatted down and began to work.

"? Learn from her?"

Qin Yi raised his voice, pointing to his nose in surprise.

"Damn it, you think learning from is deaning you?"

Su Pan’er couldn’t take it anymore!

In the past, how many people had begged and knelt down, wishing they could cling to her thigh, worshiping her. She hadn’t even spared them a second glance!

But now, she was being looked down upon by a sickly seedling!

"Don’t even ntion that you’re unwilling to learn, with your aptitude, even if you wanted to be my student, I wouldn’t take you!"

"Fine! Calling you fat and you start huffing. Can’t be bothered with you!"

Qin Yi coughed twice, retorting in the sa tone that Su Pan’er had used.

"I can’t be bothered with you!"

The run-down old house was full of firewood, which Qin Yi started to collect. Sensible Shuang’er also rushed to help. Laughter continuously poured from her little mouth.

Out of Mrs. Qin-Li’s sight, the child seed to be a completely different person.

In a short ti, they had gathered a large bundle of firewood. They quickly set up the iron pot, starting a fire and fetching water to cook.

In front of the overgrown old house, the four of them were extrely busy, and the air was filled with laughter and chatter!
