In a corner of the rear courtyard, Qin Yi had been waiting for a while. Seeing Su Pan’er erge, the two quickly converged and quietly left the backyard.

Once outside the mansion, Qin Yi removed his mask, breathing a sigh of relief.

"Phew! Who would have thought that a simple chief clerk’s house would be harder to break into than the county governnt office. What happened? I heard a commotion from your side," he asked.

"Nothing much, just that soone discovered sothing was wrong with those three dogs."

Su Paner pulled down her mask and frequently looked back.

"What happened?" Qin Yi was surprised!

He rembered when Su Pan’er had prepared these three atballs, sothing she had ntioned.

The atballs were made specifically for dogs, and after consumption, it disrupts their keen sense of sll and hearing, causing the dogs to react slowly.

Could people still notice this?

"Perhaps it’s because that Bai Chief Clerk is quite cautious and has repeatedly instructed his subordinates, so his n are more alert."

Su Pan’er explained the situation and what she saw: "This woman looks ordinary, but has a good figure. Based on her appearance and figure, she is very similar to Shi Lu’er ntioned by Lui Muyi. It should be her."

"Yes, it mostly seems like it from what you told ."

Qin Yi frowned, his voice deep, his eyes shining in the night like brilliant stars.

"With all this commotion, they’ve likely noticed sothing. They may even send the people away overnight. If that’s the case, it will be too late for us to do anything. Maybe we should..."

"You an act overnight? We indeed should do this."

Su Pan’er nodded in agreent, and then shook her head and sighed, "Lord Zhang of Changze County is already old and counting his days. It would be rather difficult to ask him to dispatch people in the middle of the night. Changze County is barren, and there aren’t many officials in the county governnt office. As soon as we step inside the governnt office, I’m afraid we might alarm the Bai Chief Clerk..."

"That would be good if we do!"

Qin Yi proposed a different view: "This Bai Chief Clerk is tricky, we have to stir the snake in the grass, letting the enemy make the first move will give us an opportunity. By doing so, we can capture the culprits."

"The plan is good, but what about manpower? Where do we get the manpower now?"

"It’s not good for us to show up, but there’s one person who, if he steps forward, even Zhang Xin wouldn’t dare to refuse." Qin Yi suggested confidently.

Su Pan’er’s eyes lit up!

"Is it him?"

"Yes, it’s him!"

Qin Yi nodded affirmatively: "There’s no ti to lose, you keep a close watch here on the mansion, I’ll be back soon. Don’t act rashly if anything happens. If it’s like last ti at the county governnt office in Yongze, I’m afraid I won’t make it back in ti."

"I got it! You always worry too much."

Su Pan’er gave him a sideways glance. This idiot, always bringing up things at the wrong ti.

Qin Yi quickly blended into the night. Su Pan’er scanned the surroundings before darting up a large tree, calming her heart and slowing her breath, blending in with the tree. She was quietly observing the movent in the house.

Inside the main house of the mansion.

An intense conflict had just subsided. But not for long, it flared up again.

"No, Master, it’s wrong!"

The woman suddenly pushed Chief Clerk Bai away: "Master, think about it, if soone really did sothing to those three dogs, doesn’t it an that those people will also imdiately move against ? What should I do?"

"Don’t panic, let enjoy first, and then... hehe, I’ll send my little beauty to the outer territories for a few days. Don’t worry!"

Chief Clerk Bai, in his anxious state, pushed the woman back down again.

Another tumultuous disturbance began.

The night, beca even deeper!

Qin Yi rode swiftly all the way and soon reached the postal relay building where Inspector Liu was temporarily staying.

Upon learning of Qin Yi’s arrival, Inspector Liu quickly stood up to welco him.

Qin Yi wasn’t polite with him either and imdiately laid out the entire situation.

He also discussed his intention to ask him to speak and negotiate on his behalf with Lord Zhang.

After briefly considering this, Inspector Liu agreed to Qin Yi’s request without a mont’s delay and imdiately took Qin Yi to the county governnt office.

Upon arriving at the entrance of the governnt office, to avoid arousing suspicion from Zhang Xin, Inspector Liu left Qin Yi at the entrance and went alone to see Zhang Xin.

County Magistrate Zhang Xin was already asleep.

Inspector Liu waited in his living room for a good while before seeing Zhang Xin sluggishly appear after half an eternity, yawning, and stretching.

After exchanging pleasantries,

Inspector Liu explained his purpose of the visit, but Zhang Xin shunned him repeatedly, seeming very apprehensive.

He even gave the impression that he wanted to see the visitor out.

Inspector Liu had no choice but to spend a lot of ti explaining the pros and cons to him.

Zhang Xin, however, hesitated and failed to make a decision.

Qin Yi, who had been waiting at the entrance of the county governnt office, had not seen Inspector Liu co out for a long ti. His eyebrows were knotted in concern, and he grew increasingly anxious, pacing back and forth incessantly like an ant on a hot pan.

Ti had passed so long, and he could not understand Zhang Xin’s intentions, nor did he know how Pan’er was doing!

As he watched ti tick by without sight of Inspector Liu, it seed likely that Zhang Xin’s agreent to help had fallen through.

A resolute expression flashed in Qin Yi’s eyes. In order to help Pan’er get Lui Muyi’s longstanding injustice redressed as soon as possible, it seed he had to resort to drastic asures.

He quietly left the entrance of the county governnt office, disappearing into the night.

As Su Pan’er stared intently at the movent at the accountant Wang’s place, waiting for Qin Yi to bring people over, she had not seen him for a long ti, causing her eyebrows to furrowed with worry.

Especially when she saw figures appear in the courtyard, moving things to the inner courtyard, her anxiety grew.

Were they planning to run away?

Ti was slowly passing, and unknowingly, it was already past the fourth watch.

There was still no sign of Qin Yi.

Unable to help herself, Su Pan’er mumbled to herself, wondering if this fool had found anyone. If he hadn’t, he should at least co back and leave a ssage!

Could it be that this fool had done sothing silly while trying to bring help?

Well, wouldn’t you know!

This was exactly the kind of thing Qin Yi, the fool, could do!

With that thought, Su Pan’er was plunged into confusion.

She gritted her teeth, turned, and jumped back over the fence.

The three vicious dogs were still clearly under the effect of the drug, oblivious to Su Pan’er’s approach.

She darted back into the inner courtyard, only to see Registrar Bai and a woman, dressed neatly, coming out of the main house.

The two of them were whispering sweet nothings to each other for a while, then Registrar Bai told his n to carry the boxes piled up in the courtyard into a hidden place in the rockery.

Imdiately after, Registrar Bai and the woman also bent down and crawled into the depths of the rockery, disappearing from sight.

Moving from one position to another, Su Pan’er finally discovered a hidden tunnel in the depths of the rockery, its destination unknown.

Oh no!

Was Registrar Bai planning to use the underground passage to move people to another location?

If that woman escaped, she didn’t know when she would be able to trace her again.

The only hope for Lui Muyi’s acquittal would be cut off!
