Lui Muyi complained in pain.

Was it necessary?

They were all but flesh wounds.

Su Pan’er twitched the corner of her mouth: "Does it really hurt that much?"

"It does hurt! If it wasn’t for the fact that I heard you call her ’mother’, I would have already given her a couple of slaps... Ah! It’s painful, can you please be gentle..."

Lui Muyi chastised grumblingly.

While helping him apply the dicine, the Overlord Tiger’s hand trembled, the dicinal powder spilling on the floor.

"In truth, you and your mother are indeed like two peas in a pod! Whether it’s your ability to insult people or that ferocious stint of yours when it cos to hitting others, it’s simply identical! Now I see where you got that wild streak of yours from, it’s undoubtedly from learning from your mother."

A spark flashed in Lui Muyi’s eyes.

Touching his painful spots, he feigned curiosity and asked, "By the way, I heard you are not your mother’s biological child?"

"Puff! Cough, cough..."

Su Pan’er, who was drinking refreshnt, spurted her tea out far and coughed repeatedly.

While she was mopping the table with a cloth, she explained, "Who did you hear that from? There’s no such thing! When I was a kid, my father and mother had a quarrel and my pregnant mother went back to her maiden family. As a result, I was born on the way back. So rumors spread around the village claiming that I’m not my mother’s biological child."

This was the excuse made by her adoptive parents to the villagers after they brought her ho.

Although there are rumors that she’s not from the Su family, no one knows the truth.

Under normal circumstances, she might laugh while telling Lui Muyi the truth, but with the ongoing gossip, she was reminded of the possibility of whether unveiling the fact that she isn’t the biological daughter of her parents could be used as a pretext for soone else’s mischief.

With this thought in mind, she beca even less willing to reveal the truth.

"So that’s the inside story?"

Lui Muyi’s eyes flashed with a hint of disappointnt, but he nonetheless laughed heartily, "It’s nothing. I just heard soone ntion it and was a bit curious. But you’re right — your personality is exactly like your mother’s. They say like mother, like daughter."

"Of course, I am my mom’s daughter after all."

After looking at his wounds, Su Pan’er couldn’t help but laugh, "These marks remind of my childhood days. During those tis, I made quite a lot of ss and always got a "culinary" punishnt called stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots."

"Stir-fried pork with bamboo shoots? Pan’er, would you like to eat that?"

Qin Yi and Zhou Ning appeared from the kitchen, just in ti to hear Su Pan’er’s last sentence, "This dish sounds great. Pan’er brought back quite a lot of bamboo shoots, I’ll have Aunt Zhou prepare it right away."

"Brother Qin San, let do it, it will be quick."

Zhou Ning turned around and went back into the kitchen.

Lui Muyi’s mouth twitched, wanting to say sothing, but in the end, he said nothing.

"Pfft!"

Su Pan’er couldn’t help but laugh. Her clear laughter echoed through the house, "What I ant was, my mom used the bamboo shoots to stir-fry Lui Muyi’s flesh into shreds! Pfft... Hahaha!"

Qin Yi’s eyes darkened, his pupils were deep and dark.

"So that’s what you ant!"

Lui Muyi’s face turned exceptionally awkward, unable to say anything.

"Speaking of which, this must have been tough on Young Master Lui. Qin Yi is here to apologize on behalf of his mother-in-law."

Qin Yi hurriedly made a fist and palm salute.

"No need, this was not your mistake."

"But this was indeed a mistake made by my mother-in-law, and I am here to apologize on her behalf." Qin Yi replied calmly.

"You..."

This left Lui Muyi speechless.

He suddenly burst into laughter, "No need! After all, this new suit fits perfectly. This outfit more than compensates for the unintentional mistake made by your mother-in-law earlier. What do you think, Scholar Qin? Ha-ha-ha!"

Upon hearing this, the expression on Qin Yi’s face darkened as if the bottom of a pot.

Even Su Pan’er furrowed her brows.

There was a saying that brothers are like hands and feet, while won are like clothes... but Lui Muyi’s words were...

Simply too much!

"I apologize, Young Master Lui, so things naturally belong to certain individuals!"

Qin Yi responded coldly, pronouncing each word clearly, "This clothing was made from the fabric that Pan’er bought for . Pan’er didn’t sew well so my mother-in-law helped her out. Even though these clothes might not be worth much, they still represent the sincere intent of Pan’er and my mother-in-law."

He revealed a cold smile, his gaze sharp as ice, "If Young Master Lui truly has no clothes to wear, I will buy you a suit from the village’s clothing store. However, if you insist on having this one, you can ask my mother-in-law directly to see if she’ll agree!"

His rapid-fire response left Lui Muyi feeling extrely awkward.

"Cough, cough, cough. I fear I wouldn’t dare to face your mother-in-law lest she hit with her pole!"

Lui Muyi realized his words had crossed the line. He let out two dry laughs, "I apologize for my earlier words. I must have been out of my mind to not realize that this suit ant so much to you. I apologize, truly."

"Lui Muyi, we might be friends but it is essential to respect limits!"

Su Pan’er spoke in a cold tone, "I consider you as a friend because of who you are and not due to your family’s wealth. In the future, if you carry on speaking like that, we can consider our collaboration done."

"Oh, oh, you’re being too harsh, I..."

Lui Muyi didn’t pay attention to the pain on his body and kept a face full of smiles, "I was just joking around, purely joking. You know my words often carry no hidden intentions..."

"That’s more like it, but as a friend, allow to give you a piece of advice."

Su Pan’er’s eyes softened a little, "When you’re out, not only should you be careful about what you eat, but also what you say. After all, you can’t always stay in Yongze County for the rest of your life, can you?"

Lui Muyi was taken aback for a mont, an odd light appeared in his eyes.

"Since I was a child, no one has ever said these words to ; I will definitely take them to heart in the future. Thank you!"

"I always speak casually and have never thought twice about it! I apologize if I offended you with my earlier comnts. Please forgive , forgive !" Said Lui Muyi seriously as he made a bow of apology with his hands.

Having heard this kind of statent from casual and nonchalant Lui Muyi, the tension in both, Su Pan’er and Qin Yi’s, faces faded substantially.

During the awkward silent mont among them, Aunt Zhou suddenly poked her head from the door.

"Scholar Qin, Doctor Su, Young Master Lui, the al is ready! Everyone please stop chatting and let’s have a al! Ah, before the food goes cold!"

The al was finally ready!

Everyone sighed in relief.

Su Pan’er felt indescribable at this mont, and casually said, "Let’s go! Let’s have a al. It’s a rare occasion that we have both at and chicken and fish for lunch today, it’s quite a good fare."

Lui Muyi also got up, laughing heartily, "Hahaha... Let’s go and have a al. Allow to toast you both as an apology for the unintentional mistake today!"
