"No!"

Su Pan’er seed to rember sothing, swiftly moved to the front of one of the n in black, a cold smirk breaking out from the corners of her lips.

"What are you trying to do?"

The man in black trembled all over.

Suddenly rembering sothing, she exclaid, "Didn’t I say I’d feed your junk to the dogs?"

A cold light flickered in Su Pan’er’s eyes and with a flick of her wrist, her sword swooped down.

"Ahhh!"

The man’s shriek was so sharp that it made one’s teeth tingle. He shot up, his eyes bulging, his face contorted beyond recognition.

Did he think this was over?

Snorting, Su Pan’er said, "You have reaped what you’ve sown. I told you before, I am going to feed your despicable organ to the dogs!"

And with that, she flicked sothing off her sword.

And as it flew, it soared far away and disappeared into the swamp.

A python stuck its head out from the thick sludge, opened its mouth wide, and swallowed the thing whole. The morsel wasn’t even large enough to get stuck in its teeth, so, unsatisfied, it recoiled and subrged back into the swamp.

"You, you poisonous bitch. I won’t let you go even if I beco a ghost!"

The man in black was writhing in agony.

"His noise is killing ."

Disgusted, Su Pan’er covered her ears, lazily kicked a stone that hit him straight in the forehead.

The man in black scread, suddenly silenced as he collapsed onto the ground.

"Oh right, I don’t think he ntioned who sent him..."

As if waking from a dream, Su Pan’er approached him again, and maliciously stepped on a bloody part of his body.

"Ah..."

The man in black let out an inhuman scream and slowly regained consciousness.

"Speak up, who sent you?"

The man answered defiantly, "You want to know? Heh, I won’t tell you."

"You have a tough mouth, but you’re despicable!"

Shaking her head, she continued forwards, her sword pierced directly through his heart.

He struggled a bit, then his eyes bulged and he was still.

Su Pan’er reached out and ripped off the black cloth on his face.

This man, he looked like...

Before she could react, there was a sudden gust of wind behind her.

Su Pan’er shot out her sword in response!

Clang!

A sharp sound resounded as a boulder was knocked back by her blade.

The man in black, having exhausted all his strength with his previous attack, was now completely spent, unable to dodge the flying rock that hit him square in the face.

Thud!

His head exploded like a cracked open waterlon, spurting out brain matter and blood. His limbs convulsed, then he was completely still.

Su Pan’er suppressed her nausea, using her sword to remove the black cloth on his face.

It was really them!

Both were secret guards under the Eighth Master. She had bumped into them at the Su Family yesterday.

Why did the Eighth Master send them to kill her? Could he know that she wass the one who moved against the secret guards and soldiers?

Su Pan’er scrunched her brows.

Kicking their bodies towards the forest resounding with the howls of wolves, she continued to search in the mountains, but couldn’t find Fei’er or Ye Han, so she reluctantly returned ho.

Arriving at the Qin residence, Su Pan’er was surprised to see that all traces in the yard had been cleaned up. Apart from the faint sll of blood and a mix of grass ash, there was nothing else.

"Pan’er, you’re back. There’s hot water in the pot, go freshen up,"

Qin Yi ca over to greet her, his face as gentle as ever.

Su Pan’er glanced at him deeply, turned back into the room to get the new clothes her mother had given her yesterday, and scooped up hot water to wash. When she ca out refreshed, she saw Qin Yi burning sothing on the stove.

Upon closer inspection, the last corner of the worn clothes she was wearing was also being slowly reduced to ashes under the tongs in his hand.

He seed to be still uneasy, carefully poking at the ashes again and again, until he was sure nothing was left, and then got up.

Looking up, he t Su Pan’er’s face full of mixed emotions.

He paused slightly, then smiled: "Have you finished washing?"

"Yes."

Su Pan’er, twirling her long hair, didn’t say much.

She felt a bit at a loss, not knowing how to face him.

"Look at you, always coming out with your hair still wet. Co on, let’s go to the bedroom. I’ll wring it out for you."

Qin Yi, smiling as usual, reached out to take her hand and led her into the bedroom.

Su Pan’er’s hand trembled slightly, but she didn’t refuse. She allowed him to take a sweat towel and wring out her hair.

"What’s the matter? You seem to have a lot on your mind."

Qin Yi’s question brought back Su Pan’er’s wandering mind.

She looked up at him.

"Just now, I went to find Fei’er, but I couldn’t find them. I don’t know where Fei’er and his Fifth Uncle have gone. Qin Yi... Will you think I am brutal?"

Qin Yi was taken aback: "Why would you ask that?"

"I killed those two people, dumped their bodies in the wilderness, and let wild animals eat them so they won’t have a full body after death..."

Su Pan’er said in a low voice.

When had she ever cared about what others thought in the past? But now, she really was worried that Qin Yi would be disgusted with her actions and even avoid her because of it.

She was so afraid of losing what she had. She felt she was no longer herself!

"You an those two scoundrels? Fool!"

Qin Yi suddenly laughed, quite relaxed: "If you hadn’t killed them, they would have killed the three of us. You did not kill innocents but saved lives. You did nothing wrong!"

These words made a big stone in Su Pan’er’s heart fall, and her eyes shone brightly.

"Then why do you seem distracted?"

"I am..."

Qin Yi opened his mouth several tis, finally sitting behind her and in a low voice: "Pan’er, am I useless?"

"Huh?"

Su Pan’er raised her eyebrows in surprise.

"I always hope that I can protect you, but in the end, it always backfires. It’s always you who protect . I... I feel... not good..."

He murmured: "I am really useless..."

"You are wrong!"

Su Pan’er let go of her worries and laughed instead!

"Everyone has their own strengths and does different things. You cook and do housework every day, helping take care of Ke’er and using all your free ti to copy books. You have done no less than . Where can you say you are useless just because you do different jobs?"

"No, not that... I an, when I saw you being assassinated by those two n in black, I felt... really useless because I couldn’t be of any help to you..."

Qin Yi said in an increasingly small voice.

"Puff! What’s the big deal about not being able to help? If you want to learn the Internal Strength thod, I can teach you.

Su Pan’er almost blurted out.

Only after seeing Qin Yi’s surprised face did she realize what she had said.

Once the words were spoken, she naturally couldn’t go back on them.

The elder who had taught the Internal Strength thod had once said that this thod must not be taught to those with evil intentions, otherwise it would cause endless trouble.

Although Qin Yi and she had not known each other for long, he was definitely not a wicked man with evil intentions!

Besides, although she could protect them, she couldn’t always stay with them. If Qin Yi also learned the Internal Strength thod, he would also have the power to protect himself if similar incidents happened again.

Thinking about these, she asked Qin Yi seriously: "Qin Yi, do you want to learn? Once you’ve mastered it, you will be able to deal with them easily."
