"I don't believe that the four great noble families are as united as they seem. As long as you disappear, your family will be swallowed up imdiately. So give an explanation now… otherwise, none of you are leaving here alive."
"Naruto-dono, you should understand the consequences of killing a noble, shouldn't you?" Enwa asked again, unwilling to give up, "Konoha has never executed a noble before. Are you really willing to set such a precedent?"
"Moreover, while Konoha does have the authority to intervene in Land of Fire’s affairs, we have not acted with hostility toward the Intelligence Departnt. Therefore, you have no right to hold us accountable."
"If there has been a misunderstanding, you may request the city guards to investigate. Or escalate the matter to Konoha and have other Shinobi assist in the investigation. In addition, we have always maintained good relations with Konoha, and I also have a good personal relationship with the Rokudai Hokage-dono, Kakashi. If necessary, I can send a letter to Hokage-dono to clarify the situation."
That was an outright threat… blatant and undisguised.
Yamafuji and Matsuri could feel how troubleso this was becoming and could not help but frown. They realized that if Enwa followed through with a formal complaint, the outco would likely be inconclusive. That was the nobles' shield.
Even when they acted unreasonably, they had layers of privileges protecting them. Investigating them, let alone capturing them, required breaking through countless barriers.
Hearing this, Ino also sensed that the situation was becoming difficult. She was not afraid of the threat from the nobles, after all, Konoha and the capital of the Land of Fire belonged to two different systems.
Naruto had even more connections than she did. Even though Enwa was a powerful noble, it would be difficult for him to pose a real threat to Naruto. Kakashi, Rokudai Hokage will not pay attention to him, and Konoha certainly wouldn't question Naruto over sothing like this.
But Naruto had already shown killing intent. If he really acted on it, things would inevitably go in another unknown direction.
The four great noble families have been in power for a long ti, and most of the territory and wealth of the Land of Fire were controlled by them. Once Enwa dies, the remaining nobles would likely unite against Naruto, and Konoha will inevitably be under pressure.
Although Kakashi is now the Hokage, he has just taken office and has a shallow foundation. Jiraiya is away from the village and Tsunade has also left the village, so there is no one who can truly back him up.
After thinking about it, Ino still felt this was unwise.
But then she rembered what Naruto had told her earlier, that she should just stand aside and watch, and she didn't need to worry too much.
"Rules are made by people. You don't need to threaten here." Naruto's voice beca colder and colder, "Say sothing useful. Stop wasting my ti with your useless nonsense."
Enwa’s heart sank, and he realized the situation had taken a dangerous turn. He quickly stopped trying to act tough and spoke, "We no longer interfere with the Intelligence Departnt’s project. We deeply apologize for the trouble we've caused."
"You will no longer interfere?" Naruto raised an eyebrow, glancing at Enwa and then at the two young nobles, "Are you sending away a beggar?"
"It was your people who manipulated Shinobi to attack the Intelligence Departnt. Our people were killed and wounded innurable tis, and four of them have already been buried. And now you think saying 'we won’t interfere' is enough to settle this?"
Standing behind Naruto, Yamafuji lowered his voice and asked Matsuri beside him, "When did we lose four people?"
"I don't know, and you'd best not ask.” Matsuri whispered, “For all you know, you could be the fifth."
"Oh, I thought soone really died." Yamafuji muttered.
"Nobody has died!" Enwa finally couldn't hold it in any longer and snapped, "You are slandering . This is blatant slander!"
"Really? Leaving aside the facts, isn't this still your fault?" Naruto said coolly, "Right now, I say there were casualties, so there were casualties. If you don't agree…"
After saying this, he paused for a mont before continuing, mimicking Enwa’s words exactly, "If there has been a misunderstanding, you may request the city guards to investigate. Or escalate the matter to Konoha and have other Shinobi assist in the investigation. In addition, Konoha and I have always had on equal terms, and I am the disciple of Rokudai Hokage, Kakashi, and also the disciple of Jiraiya, one of the legendary Sannin."
"Besides that, I also have a close relationship with Yondai Hokage and Godai Hokage. If needed, I can send a letter to the current Hokage, after you're all dead, to explain the situation."
The next mont, Naruto snapped his fingers.
With a loud rumble, more than a dozen coffins burst from the ground. As the lids creaked open, Naruto imdiately noticed the horrified expression on Enwa’s face, which seed to be a little familiar.
Looking at Enwa’s horrified expression, he couldn't help but laugh and said to Enwa, "Looks like you've buried quite a few people in this courtyard, Enwa-sama. Are you the kind of person who prefers to keep his enemies buried in his own backyard?"
"You…!! Nonsense!"
"Is that so? Then maybe you should ask them yourself… they seem very eager to tear you apart." Naruto took two steps back and shifted his gaze toward the two young nobles.
The two n were completely petrified. With a thud, they collapsed to the floor, unable to make a sound. Their faces were twisted in horror, gasping for breath like drowning n.
"Father! Father! Help!" The bespectacled young man lost all pretense of composure, kicking his legs as he scrambled backward in. He now deeply regretted ever getting involved in this matter.
Originally, he just watched his useless brother run in, knowing that his brother would only ss things up. So, he deliberately waited for a while before going in, hoping to earn points in front of his father.
But who could've imagined that what started as a simple scuffle with so Shinobi would escalate into... this?
"I promise you! I agree to any conditions! Our Enwa Family is willing to compensate you!" Enwa was terrified and shouted with all his might.
"I want seventy percent!" Naruto said.
"Okay! I agree!" Enwa no longer cared about the cost… he would agree to anything to get out of this alive.
Hearing this, Ino frowned… not because she opposed Naruto demanding compensation, but because she instinctively doubted they'd ever actually get the money. After all, nobles never kept their word.
Besides, despite Enwa’s seemingly mild-mannered deanor, he was likely ruthless. The chances of getting that seventy percent? Slim. Even half would be a stretch.
However, at the next mont, Naruto didn't follow up. He simply turned away, grabbing Ino’s hand and addressing the still-stunned Yamafuji and Matsuri.
"Let's go."
"Wait! Help us!"
"Damn it! Call them off, you bastard!"
"Aaahhh!!!"
"Don't leave us! Help! You clearly promised!" The bespectacled noble, who valued his life above all else, frantically crawled toward Naruto. But before he could reach him, the reanimated corpses seized him with nurous hands.
The desperate screams echoed in the room, and the sliding door slamd shut with a bang, muffling the terrified cries.
By the ti they exited, the courtyard was empty, and the reincarnated corpses had vanished, leaving behind only pools of blood.
Fortunately, they were all Shinobi and were no strangers to killing. Aside from Yamafuji, who was slightly unsteady on his feet, as he’s still unnerved by the terrifying reincarnation technique, everything seed normal.
"You planned this from the start, didn't you?" Ino asked, holding his hand. "The seventy percent… was that just to ss with them?"
"No. They brought this on themselves." Naruto shook his head, "I didn't expect nobles to stoop this low. I already followed the procedures step by step and gave them a chance."
"But it doesn't matter now. It's over. The four great noble families of the capital have beco history. From now on, there will be only three great noble families."
