With a creak, the azure gates of the Divination Commission slowly opened.
Upon seeing them, March 7th imdiately asked, "Why did it take so long to open the doors...? I was about to teleport directly inside."
"Opening the Divination Commission's gates is not straightforward; apologies for keeping you waiting," Qingque explained with a gesture.
March 7th stared at Bochang, noticing his flas gradually extinguishing.
It was evident...
that he had just been engaged in battle.
"What happened... Are there still enemies within the Divination Commission?"
"Yes," replied Bochang.
At that mont, Bochang's Spider Sense began alarming him. He detected a streak of golden lightning approaching from the side and swiftly moved, effortlessly evading the attack. The bolt struck the wall instead, leaving behind a charred mark.
A voice suddenly echoed nearby as a mber of Sanctus dicus rushed to support, also an ordinary Inner Core cultivator.
Annoyed by this interruption, March 7th drew her bow and swiftly attacked the newcor.
Realizing his ambush had failed, the Inner Core cultivator prepared to flee.
Unfortunately...
They wouldn't let him escape that easily.
"Look, Listen, Inquire... Kick!" Bailu leaped with a divine dragon-like sweep, sending a burst of purple lightning towards the Inner Core cultivator.
This Sanctus dicus disciple possessed flight capabilities, but unfortunately, his mastery over them was lacking. Evading the incoming attack seed impossible.
March 7th's arrow struck his knee, while Bailu unleashed another bolt of lightning.
"Zzzt..."
The combined assaults sent the Inner Core cultivator plumting back to earth, landing hard on his rear, unable to rise for quite so ti.
Compared to the typical Mara-Struck Soldiers, Bochang found Inner Core cultivators relatively easier to handle. After all...
Although they retained their sanity, they had lost the ability to regenerate from fatal wounds.
Or rather...
His peculiar regenerative abilities seed significantly weakened.
"This fellow must be a mber of the Disciples of Sanctus dicus..." Bochang observed the fallen Inner Core cultivator. "I suspect they infiltrated the Divination Commission, leading to this current chaos," he hypothesized.
Welt Yang stroked his chin and suggested, "A mber of the Disciples of Sanctus dicus... perhaps we could interrogate him..."
Upon hearing the word 'interrogate,' the Inner Core cultivator beca agitated and launched another desperate attack.
Unfortunately for him, it proved futile.
Welt Yang effortlessly swallowed the assault with his simulated black hole.
This sight filled the Inner Core cultivator with despair, realizing escape was impossible. In a surprising move, he chose to self-destruct.
Amidst a burst of yellow light, his body exploded, scattering nurous golden ginkgo leaves.
Bochang watched coldly from the sidelines.
Earlier, he had also attempted to capture a live Inner Core cultivator, but similarly, that one opted for suicide.
In fact...
Even Bochang suspected that it wasn't a suicide but rather forced upon him.
Just as the Inner Core cultivator perished,
a bolt of lightning descended from the sky - straight towards Bochang. Without hesitation, he hurled his Vow Spear, instantly shattering the descending thunderbolt.
"He's dead..." March 7th observed.
"Let's continue forward. Qingque, we still rely on your guidance," said Welt Yang, seemingly unfazed by the incident.
After all... this was not their first encounter with such self-destructive tactics.
Qingque nodded. "Alright, let's proceed."
The peculiarities of the Divination Commission held little concern for her, much like she had stated earlier:
"Even if the heavens collapse, Master Diviner will bear the brunt. What does it matter to , a re diviner?"
Whenever possible, Qingque preferred leisure over worry - a consistent approach reflecting her laid-back attitude.
As they moved ahead,
after dispatching the few monsters guarding the entrance, the group encountered no further enemies along the way.
They safely reached a platform.
Ahead lay the prestigious large-scale Jade Abacus computational array—the Matrix of Prescience—of which the Divination Commission was imnsely proud.
Jade Abacuses were crafted by artisans from the Xianzhou Artisanship Commission. They inscribed billions of microscopic talismans within jade crystal lattices, then embedded these into various chanisms according to specific needs, enabling them to operate as intended by their design.
So Jade Abacuses were small enough to fit inside bracelets or jewelry, while larger ones were integrated into arrays for predicting variables.
In essence, they functioned like CPUs.
Upon reaching this platform, one would encounter mbers of the Divination Commission who, upon seeing Qingque, warmly greeted her.
The Mahjong Maiden had gained so renown here.
Perhaps it was due to her attractive appearance, perhaps because she excelled at slacking off, or possibly both.
Below, Master Diviner Fu Xuan appeared troubled, his long pink hair cascading past his waist. It was elegantly styled with a hairpin, creating a visually pleasing arrangent.
Dressed in a shoulder-baring pink dress, she wore a small round mirror adorned with countless stars around her neck.
The most striking feature on Fu Xuan was the eye on her forehead, resembling a keyhole with a blue iris within.
Qingque said, "Master Diviner, although we haven't received your direct orders yet, I've brought the guests here nonetheless."
This decision by the Mahjong Maiden held deeper significance. With the Divination Commission facing trouble, Fu Xuan might not have had ti to issue instructions. Therefore...
Qingque took it upon herself to bring these individuals to the Divination Commission, believing they could potentially be of help.
"Entering the Matrix of Prescience without this venerable one's permission is against regulations... However, saying so would make seem overly strict. In fact, your arrival is quite tily." Fu Xuan placed one hand on her hip. "Now, I have so bad news for you. Just ten minutes ago, Stellaron Hunter: Kafka was rescued... or rather, saved by her accomplice Blade."
"What? Escaped? Then wasn't our effort all in vain..." March 7th's expression showed shock.
Stellaron Hunter: Kafka had been escorted to the Divination Commission by Fu Xuan at her own insistence to proceed ahead.
Yet now sothing went awry.
"Not entirely in vain. By assisting Xianzhou in capturing Stellaron Hunter: Kafka, you have effectively cleared yourselves of suspicion," Fu Xuan shook his head. "As for the escape of a criminal, that responsibility lies with this venerable one, not any of you. I truly did not anticipate such cunning from the Stellaron Hunters..."
Welt Yang adjusted his black-frad glasses, showing no intention to speak.
Stelle sighed and said, "So... Kafka has escaped already?"
"Hm." Fu Xuan nodded, his gaze sowhat somber.
Bochang had initially hoped to et Kafka face-to-face. Now it seed that wouldn't happen.
"Could the Stellaron Hunters... be avoiding ?" Bochang muttered inwardly.
Suddenly, General Jing Yuan's holographic projection appeared within the Matrix of Prescience.
"Official Fu, I've heard everything. The Stellaron Hunters possess extraordinary capabilities and can even foresee the future. Allowing them to escape is not entirely unexpected; you needn't bla yourself."
Fu Xuan looked up at Jing Yuan as he approached steadily and asked, "What should we do now, General?"
"For now... let's first stabilize the situation at the Divination Commission," General Jing Yuan replied calmly. "As for what cos next... we'll discuss it later."
