People built nations and armies and tried to resist with everything they had, but as the Aeon kept growing, countries fell one by one, and both people and all living creatures were swallowed.
The last ancient kingdom used all its strength to fight and finally sealed the Aeon deep underground.
They sacrificed everything to do so.
After that, only a dead desert remained, where even life could not be born.
And then, after thousands of years, the old barrier finally weakened.
Now, the Aeon had appeared again in this world.
During its long ti underground it had kept eating without stopping and had beco tens of tis bigger than it once was.
Because it was blocked right after it erged from the tunnel, it was staying in this current shape.
But if this barrier disappeared, the Aeon would instantly swell and spread out, covering not only the eastern continent but even the western continent.
Aaron and the others prepared so they could rebuild the barrier imdiately.
To attack the Aeon, the barrier had to be cut for a mont.
If the Aeon started to spread, they had to put up the barrier again at once to stop it.
"All units, take your positions!"
Quintus shouted and Johan repeated the order loudly.
"Ready! Prepare!"
The knights lined up across the cliff and aid their magic cannons at the Aeon.
The soldiers assigned to them stood behind with magic stones ready to load.
The magicians and those with strong magic finished preparing to release pure magic blasts.
Only pure magic itself could deal a fatal blow to the Aeon.
Shiao Yi stood beside Dominic and held his breath.
Dominic also pointed both hands toward the Aeon, ready to release his magic blast.
Quintus raised his right hand high and Johan shouted loudly as if to threaten the air around them.
"Release the barrier!"
"Release the barrier!"
"Release!"
The scattered magicians and the knights guarding them repeated the order and answered back.
Without a mont of delay, Quintus’s hand swung down sharply.
At the sa ti, Johan’s loud voice roared through the air.
"Fire!!"
"Fire!!"
The magic cannons fired magic stones one after another.
The soldiers quickly loaded more stones and the knights kept shooting the magic cannons without stopping.
The magicians and Dominic’s group also released magic blasts with all the power their bodies allowed.
Shiao Yi used telekinesis to lift fifty magic stones at a ti and dropped them toward the Aeon.
Three hundred magic cannons and eight thousand magic stones.
One hundred and fifty knights and magicians releasing magic blasts.
All of that was fired into the Aeon at the sa mont.
In the past, there had never been a ti in this world when such a huge amount of energy and magic was moved by human hands.
The area was swallowed by roaring sound, blinding flashes, and clouds of smoke from the explosions.
"Barrier!!"
A broken shout rose from Aaron.
"Spread the barrier!"
"Hurry!"
"Stop it!"
"Hey, there’s a leak! Close it!"
"Uwaaah!"
"Cut it!"
"Do NOT let it escape!"
The scene turned into chaos.
The wind from the sea blew the ash and dust away.
As the view beca clear again, the rocky mountain that had once stood across the cove had vanished and what remained was an open empty reef.
In front of them, near the edge of the cliff overlooking the cove, the Aeon that was full of holes from the attacks still stretched and shrank freely and in an instant returned to its original form.
It had beco much smaller from the magic stones and magic blasts that had shaved parts of it away, but the Aeon was still alive.
Thanks to Aaron’s quick thinking, the barrier was barely completed in ti and they managed to hold the Aeon back.
It had been an extrely close mont.
Even so, the knights and soldiers had already begun fighting the fragnts of the Aeon that escaped the barrier.
They were lucky that the Aeon had no real thought or mind.
Instead of fleeing to the wide, open sea, the fragnts simply attacked the closest knights and soldiers in search of food.
General Gabrant’s army that already arranged in a thick formation moved in to et them.
The soldiers held swords embedded with magic stones and moved in small squads.
Several squads ca together to surround each fragnt.
Dozens of swords cut the fragnts into tiny pieces and then sliced them even further.
When the fragnts were struck all at once by swords filled with magic power, they turned into black liquid, unable to regenerate, just like a magical beast being killed.
The knights and magicians rushed in to help.
Because many fragnts had been blown apart by magic-stone bullets, the battles were happening in several places at once.
"Waaah!"
A scream rose from one side.
A fragnt slipped through a soldier’s sword and leaped at him.
In another place.
"Take this!"
A magician ford a magic circle and tried to burn a fragnt with bright red flas.
"Idiot! Not elental magic!"
"Uwaaah!"
The flas were eaten entirely by the fragnt and the fragnt swelled to twice its size and attacked the magician.
Farther away.
"Ggaaaahhhh!"
"No good! He’s completely taken! Damn it!"
"Free him! That’s the only rcy!"
"Cut him!"
The soldiers clenched their teeth as they cut down their own comrade who had begun turning into a black magical beast.
On top of the cliff where Rosaria Kingdom had gathered its forces, a brutal scene continued without pause.
Even so, they had no choice but to keep fighting, until every fragnt was surely destroyed.
"Do NOT let them break through our lines! Don’t let even a single fragnt escape outside!"
"Yeah!!"
Gabrant’s furious shout rang out.
He gripped his black sword and leaped into the battlefield, chasing after a fragnt of the Aeon.
"Follow General Gabrant!!"
Inspired by his spirit, the soldiers began running after him.
Thirty eight people had been attacked by the Aeon’s fragnts.
Thirteen of them survived because their arms or legs were cut off in ti.
Twenty five were eaten by the Aeon fragnts and the others had no choice but to cut them down to free their souls from suffering.
