Chapter - 64

Leo held the rough stone wall at the back of the castle with ease. His fingers found the smallest cracks between the stones and his boots gripped the stone silently.

Thanks to his high Agility and Stealth stat along with the slight boost from his Shadowweave Tunic, the climb was really easy.

He reached the heavy stone ledge of his new balcony. With one smooth pull, he hauled himself up and over the railing. He didn’t make a sound. He slipped through the unlocked window which he left open earlier this morning.

His blood was humming. He felt incredible. His inventory was loaded with a massive amount of new wealth, and he held the future of a major guild in his hands.

Tonight, he didn’t just feel like a high-level gar. He felt like a king who was moving his pawns just the way he wanted.

Now it was ti for him to claim his rewards.

He expected to find Seraphine waiting for him.

In his mind, he pictured her asleep in the massive king sized bed, buried under things sheets. Or perhaps she would be pacing the floor in a long, elegant silk nightgown, worrying about whether he had made it back safely from the city.

Leo stepped into the room and closed the window behind him. The latch clicked softly, shutting out the wind.

The chamber was dim. It was lit only by a single, thick candle burning on the heavy oak desk in the corner. The fla flickered, casting long, dancing shadows against the stone walls and the velvet tapestries. The air slled of lavender and beeswax, warm and inviting.

Leo turned, his eyes adjusting to the gloom. He took a step toward the bed.

And then he stopped dead.

His breath caught in his throat, stuck hard. His heart hamred against his ribs, skipping a beat.

Seraphine was there. But she wasn’t sleeping. And she definitely wasn’t wearing a long, elegant nightgown.

She was standing by the side of the bed. Her back was partially turned to him as she smoothed out the sheets with slow, exaggerated care. Her hands moved over the white linen, pressing it flat.

She was dressed in a maid’s uniform.

But this wasn’t the standard, frumpy grey wool dress that the castle staff wore to scrub floors.

This was sothing else entirely. This was sothing she must have had custom-made in secret, or perhaps she had taken a pair of scissors and a needle to it herself in a fit of erotic euphoria.

It was a costu designed for one thing, and one thing only, tempt him for an all night action.

The dress was a contrast of black and white.

The black bodice clung dangerously tight to her figure. It looked like it was two sizes too small. The fabric strained against her generous curves, pulling taut across her ribs.

It pushed her breasts up and together, squeezing them until they threatened to spill over the white frilled neckline with every shallow breath she took.

The buttons down the front looked like they were holding on for dear life, struggling to keep her contained.

Leo’s eyes traveled down. The skirt was a cri against nobility.

It was short. Scandalously, beautifully short.

It flared out just enough to be playful, stopping at mid-thigh. It revealed legs that have always made him skip a heart beat.

And she wasn’t bare legged. She was wearing sheer white stockings that hugged her calves and thighs, ending in white lace garters that dug softly into the tender flesh of her upper legs.

Leo stared. He couldn’t blink.

This was the Lady of Auravale. This was the woman who could command soldiers, or order guild leaders of she ever wanted .

had poisoned rivals without shaking a hand. And here she was, dressed like a sinful fantasy, waiting for him in the dark.

The sight hit him harder than any high-level spell ever could. It punched the air right out of his lungs.

A slow, wicked grin spread across Leo’s face. The rush of the heist faded, replaced by a much heavier, darker hunger.

He didn’t move imdiately. He wanted to drink this in. He leaned back against the window fra, crossing his arms over his chest. He let his gaze crawl over her, from the white frill in her hair down to the high heels she was wearing.

"I didn’t know the Lord hired such... high-quality staff," Leo drawled.

His voice cut through the silence of the room, low and rough.

Seraphine froze. Her hands stopped moving on the bedsheets. She turned slowly to face him, her movents deliberate.

But she didn’t break character.

She kept her head lowered, her chin tucked down. She looked up at him through her long, golden lashes, playing the part perfectly.

Her face was flushed a deep, beautiful pink, the color spreading down her neck to her chest. But her eyes weren’t shy.

In the candlelight, her amber eyes were dark, dilated with intent.

"Master," she whispered.

She dropped into a curtsy. It wasn’t the graceful, practiced curtsy of a noblewoman. She wobbled slightly on the high heels.

"You startled ," she said softly, her voice trembling just a little. "I was just... preparing the bed for your return."

Leo pushed himself off the wall. He began to walk toward her.

He didn’t rush. He took his ti. His steps were slow and deliberate.

"Is that so?" Leo asked. His voice dropped an octave, vibrating in the quiet room. "You are working very late. Does the Lord of the castle know you’re in his guest’s room at this hour?"

Seraphine shivered as he got closer. The sound of his boots seed to make her nervous, in the best possible way.

She clasped her hands together in front of her tiny white apron, squeezing her fingers, like the obedient little girl.

"The Lord is... busy," she murmured. Her breathing was getting faster. She watched his chest, then his eyes.

"He is a very busy man. He doesn’t pay attention to the maids. He never looks at us."

Leo stopped right in front of her.

He was close enough to sll her now. She slled of soap and nervous heat. He lood over her, letting his shadow fall across her face, blocking out the candlelight. He was bigger than her, stronger, and in this mont, he held all the power.

"A foolish Lord," Leo said quietly. He looked down at the swell of her chest, watching the way the tight bodice struggled to contain her, "To ignore such a prized possession. What a waste of a man."

"Tell Seraphine..." Leo smirked, "What are you doing in the chambers of a man who is not your husband?"

"I..." She paused, licking her lips nervously. Her eyes darted to his mouth, then back up to his eyes.

"I wanted to make sure the guest was satisfied. Proper hospitality is the duty of a good maid, isn’t it?"

The air between them was electric. It was thick and heavy, charged with unspoken desires.

Leo reached out.

His hand moved slowly. He hooked a single finger under her chin. Her skin was hot to the touch. He applied a gentle pressure, tilting her head up, forcing her to et his gaze directly.

She looked wrecked. Her pupils were blown wide, swallowing the amber color of her irises. Her lips were parted, waiting.

"And how do you plan to do that?" Leo asked.

He moved his thumb, brushing it slowly across her bottom lip. It was soft and wet. He felt her tremble under his touch.

"Do you even know what I like?" he whispered, his voice raspy, "Do you know what a man like needs after a long day of fighting the world? Do you have any idea what I want to do to you right now?"

Seraphine’s knees seed to give out slightly, but she leaned into him, seeking his support. She leaned into his hand, turning her face slightly to kiss his palm.

"I can learn, Master," she whispered. Her voice was barely a breath, filled with surrender. "I am a fast learner. I will do whatever you tell to do."
