My day sadly did not end after that more than hour long eting with Miri, no as an emperor who’d done nothing at all for an entire month except go galavanting across the country with his fiancé, there were dozens of etings I had to attend.
All of which could not fit into a single day.
And so my truly carefree life was over.
etings reigned such that I even had dreams about waking up only to return to the office and attending etings there.
True nightmares as I woke up after going to sleep in those dreams only to go right into a whole new round of etings...
At least within a week of returning the catch up etings had ended and the general etings could begin once more.
Overall the outco was plain to see.
The empire had not suffered from my little vacation.
In fact aside from certain diplomatic matters no one ever knew I wasn’t hard at work in the palace.
Perhaps taking it easy since the paperwork wasn’t getting dealt with entirely and the administrative work was beginning to pile up.
As a skilled data cruncher the work left to daily was not enough to make burn the midnight oil and with the new trainees being given more and more as they beca accustod to their own work the amount for was reduced further.
Still they couldn’t go long term without , but for a re month things were still running smoothly.
When it ca to outside the country, the eting with the foreign minister was the most eye opening.
Seeing as how thanks to the system I could see just about everything going on within my nation, the only real limitation was the fog of war setup.
I had a general idea of the continental map, but this kept getting updated each ti I got to see an updated political map.
And it seems in the ti I was gone the world volitility level had been raised one notch higher.
The Visigoth-Eastern Coalition war was heating up.
The united forces army had advanced far enough to free almost the entirety of the forr Honor Kingdom, and sources indicated that the people who survived the initial invasion by Visigoth were signing up by the hundreds to join in the resistance war.
anwhile the Wolf was still bogged down in the sands of Egyptus without enough force to press their own invasion, and awaiting reinforcents that had once more been rerouted south to reclaim lost territory.
Then the latest news was that the Eastern Coalition had even gained an ally, or at least a friend in this war.
With the Slavic Federation making moves to invade from the north further dividing the Emperors focus to defend his lands from almost all fronts.
This was a tempting ti, and on more than one occasion during these etings I was asked if now was the ti to join in and take down Visigoth once and for all.
However I had to shake my head at that notion.
Visigoth only appeared weak on the surface because they had only enlisted a certain amount of their population for the grand campaign, believing they could just mop up the countries one after the other.
But if they were faced with all the nations of the world at once, well conscription would be raised to the limit and the sheer numbers of the Empire would be enough to stop the advance of everyone else.
Add to that the fact that Visigoth had the greatest number of Heroic figures, people who were worth hundreds all on their own, it was a power that was hard to topple.
Instead it would be better to let the north and east whittle the Visigoth numbers down as much as they can, perhaps even securing a white-peace after a while.
These wars were a distraction useful for us, it bought Romanus ti, ti enough to increase our own quality and numbers to a point where war with the Visigothic Empire would not result in the inevitable fall of our own Empire.
I feel bad for those millions of souls who were fighting on the other side of the world, but I hadn’t asked them to fight the Empire, instead I would have advised they take the sa stance I had.
Ramp up industry to prepare, churn out weapons and soldiers to militarize the entire nation, and fully commit to the coming conflict.
Rather than grouping together and believing just with your standing armies it would be more than enough to deal with the Empire.
Only to find initial success, followed by crippling crushing defeat that had you scrambling to call up levies to protect your own ho regions after the loss of the professional force.
This was war for profit now but no real forsight for what event would be to co.
The eastern kings, and leaders were currently reveling in their victories have claid hundreds of kiloters of the Honor kingdom, killing hundreds if not thousands of the Visigothic garrison left behind to maintain their position in the region.
Only these gains were paltry.
The true wealth of the land had already been stripped away for the Visigoths during the initial invasion which toppled the nation.
Wealth which had long ago since been shipped back to the central territories of the empire to be lauded by their warlords and nobility.
They were just to cocky, believing that their coalition of small nations added up to be a big nation.
But their coalition would be not much better than the Austro-Hungarian empire of Earth.
Their military would be fragnted, orders only obeyed by so, while others waited for orders from another commander which may conflict with the initial set of orders.
Add into that, that the leaders own hand in the picture could result in internal betrayal to the coalition by selling information to the Empire, or even turning tail entirely on the promise of being left alone once the dust settles.
Though the chance of that promise being upheld would be highly unlikely.
Traitors of any kind could never be trusted afterall.
