Dark flas erupted from the crater as Adam pulled himself from the shattered stone. He spat blood aside, his eyes blazing with renewed fury. The impact had cracked two of his ribs, but pain only sharpened his focus.

Tiamat’s massive form towered above the battlefield, her scales reflecting the deep blue-green of primordial seas. The dragon goddess raised one clawed hand, and the space between her and Marduk began to compress. What had been kiloters of distance started to collapse.

But Marduk spoke a single word: "Simtu." Order. The compressed space snapped back to its proper dinsions, and Tiamat’s spatial manipulation unravelled like cut rope.

The goddess snarled and swept her other hand outward, trying to liquify the golden ground beneath Marduk’s feet. The stone began to soften, but the god planted his boots and spoke again: "Šutēšubu." Foundation. The ground hardened instantly, more solid than before.

Tiamat opened her maw and released a torrent of primordial saltwater—the original brine from creation’s dawn. But as the corrosive flood rushed toward him, Marduk raised one hand and commanded: "Šūlû." Ascend. The saltwater struck an invisible barrier and was forced upward, cascading harmlessly to either side of the god.

"You are diminished, old serpent," Marduk said, his voice carrying absolute authority. "Your chaos cannot match the order of fifty gods united."

It was true. Every attack Tiamat launched, Marduk countered with contemptuous ease. The accumulated power of the entire sopotamian pantheon flowed through him, making him vastly stronger than the primordial goddess in her current state.

But she was not fighting alone.

Adam launched himself from the crater, wings carrying him in a wide arc around Marduk’s position. As the god focused on deflecting another of Tiamat’s spatial distortions, Adam struck from behind. Both plasma blades carved toward the god’s spine, but Marduk spun at the last second and caught Adam’s wrist.

"Kamālu." Bind. Energy chains wrapped around Adam’s limbs, but at that sa mont, Tiamat gestured, and the space around the chains folded. The bonds found themselves trying to restrain empty air while Adam materialised ten ters away.

Marduk’s eyes narrowed as he realised the tactical situation. Individually, neither opponent could challenge him. But working together, they could create openings that neither could exploit alone.

Around the battlefield, Adam’s generals moved into position. This was not random chaos—it was coordinated strategy.

Ifrit roared as he charged from Marduk’s left flank, orange flas blazing around his massive form. The god turned toward this new threat and spoke: "Šītu." Extinguish. Ifrit’s flas died instantly, leaving the fire giant vulnerable.

But that mont of divided attention was all Tiamat needed. She plunged both claws into the golden ground, and saltwater began spreading outward in all directions. Not the slow seepage from before—now she poured her full power into the transformation, racing to liquify the battlefield while Marduk was distracted.

Marduk spoke three words in rapid succession: "Šutēšubu mātu šīru." Foundation, land, flesh. The spreading saltwater slowed, then stopped, held back by divine command. But maintaining the spell while fighting multiple opponents strained even his accumulated power.

Garduck charged from the right, his powerful muscles propelling him forward like a battering ram. Marduk gestured toward him: "Šūquru." Collapse. Garduck’s legs gave out beneath him, divine will crushing his Hecatonchires heritage.

But Adam was already moving again. While Marduk neutralised Garduck, Adam blinked through the spaces Tiamat had folded, appearing directly above the god with both blades extended downward.

Marduk raised one hand: "Kilīlu." Shield. A barrier of solid force appeared between him and Adam’s descending strike. The plasma blades shattered against it, but the impact drove Marduk to one knee.

In that instant of vulnerability, Tiamat’s saltwater surge broke through his containnt spell. The primordial brine rushed forward as thousands of high-pressure jets that struck Marduk from every angle. Where they hit his golden armor, the tal began to smoke and corrode.

Maven dove from above in his dragon form, bronze breath weapon adding to the assault. But Marduk spoke without looking up: "Šūpûu." Disperse. Maven’s flas scattered harmlessly, and the dragon was forced to veer away.

Marduk rose to his feet, golden blood running from where the saltwater had found gaps in his armor. "Enough," he growled, then raised both hands to the sky: "Šāru ilu rēšū." Wind, gods, supre.

A hurricane erupted around the god, winds strong enough to level cities. Adam’s generals were blown backwards, their coordinated attack scattered. Even Tiamat’s massive form was pushed away from the wind’s epicenter.

But the hurricane’s fury ca at a cost. Marduk’s divine essence blazed visibly as he maintained the spell, and for the first ti, strain showed on his features. Fighting multiple opponents while reshaping reality was beginning to tax even his accumulated power.

Shihan materialised from the shadows at the hurricane’s edge, her shadow arrows finding the one angle the winds couldn’t protect—straight down from directly above. Her projectiles punched through the storm and struck Marduk’s shoulder. The arrows didn’t pierce his armor, but the impact staggered him.

The hurricane faltered for a heartbeat, and Adam blinked through the gap in the winds. His reford plasma blades struck Marduk’s chest armor simultaneously, finding the spots where Tiamat’s saltwater had weakened the divine armor. This ti, the blades bit deep.

Golden blood poured from the wounds as Marduk staggered backwards. But even wounded, the god grabbed Adam by the throat and spoke: "Maqātu." Fall. Divine gravity crushed down on Adam with the weight of mountains, driving him to his knees.

Tiamat seized the mont. With Marduk’s attention focused on Adam, she spread her wings wide and spoke her own word of power—not in the civilised tongue of order, but in the primordial language that had existed before speech itself.

Space folded around her wings, and suddenly she was everywhere at once—attacking from all angles simultaneously. Her claws raked across Marduk’s back while her tail swept at his legs and her fangs snapped toward his throat, all at the sa instant.

Marduk released Adam and spun in place, speaking rapidly: "Kilīlu šaplītu elītu šumēlu imnu." Shields below, above, left, right. Barriers appeared around him, but Tiamat’s spatial multiplication overwheld even his reflexes. Her claws found gaps between the shields, raking furrows across his armor.

The god roared in pain and fury. "Šūlû šīru abūbu!" Rise, flesh, flood! He called upon the deep magic, and the golden plain itself responded. The ground liquified into molten gold that rose up in massive waves, threatening to engulf everyone on the battlefield.

But Adam’s generals were ready. This was the opening they had been creating through their coordinated assault.

Ifrit, his flas rekindled, dove into the molten gold. Instead of being consud, he absorbed the heat and began redirecting the flow away from his allies. Garduck, recovered from Marduk’s crushing spell, grabbed massive chunks of cooling tal and hurled them back at the god.

Maven’s bronze breath struck the molten gold and hardened it into barriers that protected Adam and Tiamat from the worst of the surge. Shihan’s shadow arrows cooled the tal wherever they struck, creating safe passages through the molten flow.

Zane leapt through the cooling gaps, his twin blades carving through the hardened gold to create escape routes. Zephyr’s whip lashed out, the discharged fire superheating specific sections of tal to redirect the flow away from their position.

Victoria planted her spear in the ground and used it as a pivot point, vaulting over the molten streams while striking downward at Marduk. Sarah’s flas—swirling vortexes of condensed night—devoured sections of the molten gold entirely, creating pockets of absolute darkness that the god couldn’t see through.

From the scattered ziggurat tiers, the sopotamian gods watched in growing alarm. Enlil’s knuckles were white as he gripped the stone railing. "He’s bleeding," he whispered, staring at the golden wounds across Marduk’s armor.

Shamash’s solar radiance flickered with nervous energy. "This was not supposed to happen. The power of fifty gods should have ended this instantly."

Ishtar’s beautiful face was twisted with fear. "They’re coordinating like a pack of hunters. Each attack creates an opening for the next."

Ea, ancient and wise, watched the tactical display with growing understanding. "They’ve turned our greatest strength into a weakness. Marduk carries all our power, but he fights with only one mind, one set of reflexes. They have eleven minds working as one."

Ninhursag pressed her hand to her mouth as Tiamat’s claws raked across Marduk’s back. "Can we help him? Can we intervene?"

"No," Ea replied grimly. "We gave everything to him. We are observers now, nothing more. If he falls..."

The unspoken truth hung heavy in the divine air. If Marduk failed, fifty gods would die with him.

Morwen stepped forward through the chaos, her bone-lyre singing a haunting lody. The notes carried entropy itself—wherever the music reached, Marduk’s healing began to slow, his divine regeneration struggling against the song of decay.

The coordinated assault turned Marduk’s desperate gambit against him. The molten gold that should have ended the battle instead beca a weapon in his enemies’ hands.

Marduk stood in the center of the cooling tal, his armor cracked, golden blood flowing from multiple wounds. For the first ti, uncertainty flickered in his eyes. Even with the power of fifty gods, he was being overwheld by the tactical coordination of his enemies.

But the god of order was far from defeated. He raised his hands and began to speak in the deepest magic—words that would reshape not just the battlefield, but the fundantal laws governing reality itself.

"Šīmtu šīru mātu šamû." Fate, flesh, earth, sky. As he spoke, the accumulated power of the entire sopotamian pantheon blazed around him like a star being born.

The true battle was about to begin.
