Jörmungandr’s Kiss struck Apollo’s hastily raised guard, and the clash between cursed weapon and divine blade sent shockwaves across Olympus. But where their first exchange had been relatively even, now the montum had shifted.

Apollo fought with the desperate fury of soone who had just realised his fundantal assumptions about reality were wrong. His sword work was still technically perfect, each strike and parry executed with millennia of practiced skill. But compared to Achilles’ battlefield-honed skills, his technique was just choreography.

Achilles fought with the freedom of soone who had already accepted the worst possible outco and found it lacking. Each exchange saw him learning, growing, becoming sothing more than he had been monts before.

The Reality Rend passive triggered again and again, each successful hit creating phantom wounds that compounded Apollo’s injuries. The Sun God’s perfect form beca a patchwork of bleeding cuts, his golden ichor flowing freely as his divine constitution struggled to keep up with the accumulating damage.

"This is impossible!" Apollo scread, his solar radiance flickering like a dying star. "I am eternal! I am the light that drives back the darkness! I cannot be defeated by a dead hero with a spear!"

"You’re right about one thing," Achilles acknowledged, his next strike taking Apollo’s sword arm. The Sun God’s blade clattered across the marble, its stellar fire beginning to dim. "You are eternal. Unfortunately for you, that just ans you get to spend eternity knowing you lost to a ’dead hero with a spear.’"

The final exchange lasted only heartbeats. Apollo tried one last desperate gambit, pouring all his remaining divine power into a solar nova that should have annihilated everything within miles. The attack was beyond overwhelming—it was apocalyptic.

Achilles walked through it, half his body vaporising, then reforming anew.

"Here’s what I learned from the mont of my birth," he said quietly, Jörmungandr’s Kiss poised for the killing blow. "Death is only the end if you let it be. But Kleos? Kleos is eternal. Beco a re story of my epic, Apollo."

The spear struck ho, and Apollo—god of the sun, music, prophecy, and a dozen other domains—fell like any mortal man. His solar radiance guttered out like a snuffed candle, leaving behind only the fading echo of his perfect, musical laughter.

As the last notes died away, Achilles looked down at the fallen Sun God and shook his head. "You never did understand the difference between performance and reality. That’s what killed you, Apollo—not my spear, but your inability to improvise when the script changed."

The drill tip of Jörmungandr’s Kiss had triggered its Soul Splitter passive on that final blow, fracturing sothing fundantal in Apollo’s divine essence. As the Sun God’s body began to dissolve into motes of golden light, his accumulated knowledge and power scattered like windblown leaves, leaving behind only the empty shell of what had once been perfection incarnate.

Adam, still fighting through his own pain, looked up from where he knelt to see Achilles standing victorious over the last of the lesser Olympians. The Sun God’s light was fading from the sky, and for the first ti in eons, Olympus was cast in shadow.

"Well done," Adam managed through gritted teeth, his God Slayer still burning in his grip. "Now let’s finish this."

However, Achilles’ arms sagged. His spear clanged against the molten ground, his empty eyes still locked where Apollo died.

Breath catching in his throat, Adam stumbled toward him. He extended his palm toward Achilles’ chest, the horror of not feeling a pulse gnawing at him. After all, he was different from Achilles. Kleos? Glory? Worthless if they robbed you of your life.

His hand t Achilles’ scalding skin.

THUMP

A beat! He let out the breath he had been holding, relief flooding his veins.

"Rest well, you deserve it," he said, nodding at the unconscious yet standing man with genuine respect.

The sounds of the greater battle echoed from the summit, where Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades continued their struggle against the three Hecatoncheires. He gazed at them, biting his lips through the pain assaulting his hand and soul.

There was no ti to waste, yet his condition didn’t improve despite Apollo’s death. "Not a divine curse, nor a wound," he frowned, his mind racing for possibility even though he knew he’d find none.

And then, the answer suddenly burst in a rain of flas in front of his eyes. His open interface blazed with infernal flas, a single notification appearing one cursive letter after another.

[God Slayer and Chaosbringer have t their evolution requirent: Absorbs the life force of gods. (Current progress: 10/10)]

Cronus, Titania, Oberon, Aphrodite, Hephaestus, Artemis, Hers, Hera, Deter, and Dionysus. His eyes widened after he listed his kills. Ten!

He raised his God Slayer—just in ti to see the blazing hilt twist. The enchantnts he had engraved danced along liquefied tal, each rune pulsing with twice the power.

Then, before his constricted pupils, it shattered into glistening shards.

"NO!" He clenched his fist, only gripping air where the hilt should have been. He couldn’t lose the god slayer, his only safety asure against the devils.

But before the horror could crush his guts, the shards condensed into six marks that rushed at him like miniature stars. They passed through his reinforced skin, powerful muscles, and unbreakable bones to settle sowhere deeper—alongside his soul-bound Chaosbringer, which lted into another six stars.

The mont they ford, his veins squird with newfound power mirrored in the notifications ringing in his ears like a blasphemous hymn.

[Your chaotic body fueled the God Slayer and Chaosbringer’s evolution with the last vanquished gods’ authorities.]

[Remnant authorities of the devils consud.]

[Twelve new authorities ford and assimilated.]

His eyes widened as the pain vanished and his body shuddered under his own powers. He wanted to try them, but the notifications continued, monopolising his attention.
