The entire underground ancient hall reverted to deathly silence. Only the scattered ashes on the ground and the oppressive, fearful panting emanating from the distant shadows testified to the events that had just transpired.

Luo Qingchen regained so consciousness amidst the cold and excruciating pain. He tried to open his eyes, but his eyelids felt as heavy as a thousand pounds. The aftereffects of the depletion of his Chaotic Power surged through his limbs like a tide, with each breath triggering a tearing agony.

Where... is he?

Fragnts of mory pieced together slowly like shattered Liu Li. Altar, Transmission Array, Lin Wan’er, Su Xiaowan, Bai Ling’er... and those sinister gray-robed shadows, and finally, the fleeting golden dragon mark on Bai Ling’er’s forehead and the dragon roar that shook everything.

They... should have left safely, right?

This thought brought so peace to his heart and gave him a thread of strength. He struggled to mobilize the last trace of remaining Divine Thought to perceive his surroundings.

Cold, deathly still, perated with the scent of decay and sand.

It’s that underground ancient hall.

He suddenly opened his eyes, and what appeared before him was the cold stone surface of the altar, and not far away, the Black Dragon Sword lying quietly in the sand with its blade dim.

"Cough, cough..." He erupted into a violent cough that made his internal organs feel as if they were about to dislocate.

"Goo... goo..."

From the shadows, that creepy sound ca once more, tinged with a hint of hesitation and probing.

Luo Qingchen’s heart filled with a chill. Those sinister shadows were still there! Moreover, they seed to have sensed his weakness.

He struggled to sit up but found his body limp and powerless. His Chaos Origin was nearly exhausted, his ridians empty, unable to gather even the most basic Spiritual Power.

"Goo goo... keh..."

Several gray-black shadows flickered in the distance among the stone pillars, their scarlet eyes like ghost fires, greedily yet fearfully fixated on Luo Qingchen atop the altar, and the Black Dragon Sword beside him, along with those few fragnts still exuding a faint starlight aura.

They were afraid.

Luo Qingchen instantly understood. They were not only afraid of the Dragon Power that Bai Ling’er unleashed earlier, but probably also this Black Dragon Sword that had tasted the "blood" of their kin, as well as these fragnts imbued with pure Star Force.

Must not show weakness!

Luo Qingchen gritted his teeth, using all his strength to inch his body towards the Black Dragon Sword. Every inch moved felt like being cut with a dull knife, cold sweat instantly soaking his tattered clothes.

The shadows seed to have grasped his intention, growling anxiously with "goo goo" sounds, yet still dared not approach.

Finally, his fingertips touched the cold hilt.

A familiar sense of connection surged, and the Black Dragon Sword seed to respond to its master’s call, letting out an almost inaudible hum. Luo Qingchen’s heart was shaken, and he gripped the hilt tightly, using the sword to support himself as he shakily stood up.

Although he was extrely weak, the mont he grasped the Longsword, his gaze turned sharp as a blade again. He coldly surveyed the sinister shadows on the move, the last trace of the power of Divine Thought perated his body, transforming into an invisible pressure.

"Get lost!"

A low growl, hoarse yet filled with undeniable determination.

The sinister shadows, swept by his gaze and feeling that albeit weak yet pure killing intent, imdiately shrieked in horror like frightened rabbits, retreating back into the deeper darkness, not daring to show themselves again.

For the mont, it was safe.

Luo Qingchen let out a long breath of turbid air, his body swayed, nearly collapsing again. He hurriedly plunged the Black Dragon Sword into the sand before him to support himself, breathing heavily.

He knew that this was only temporary. Once those shadows discovered he was rely feigning strength, they would undoubtedly charge again.

He had to recover his strength as soon as possible and then leave here.

He looked at the five slots on the altar, still glowing faintly, and the star map fragnts within them. These fragnts were crucial to activating the Transmission Array and the only clue for him to leave this place.

He walked to a slot, cautiously retrieving the star map fragnt inside. As he held it, it felt warm in his hand. Though the Star Force within was greatly depleted, it remained pure.

As the fragnt was withdrawn, the light in the slot quickly dimd.

He took out all five fragnts one by one, storing them carefully. Without energy sources, the entire altar returned to dead silence, appearing like an ordinary stone structure.

The Transmission Array was destroyed, or rather, after sending off Lin Wan’er and the others, the energy was depleted and it could no longer be activated.

Thus, the only way out was in the direction those sinister shadows appeared from - the depths of the hall.

Luo Qingchen frowned. It was undoubtedly more dangerous there, but it was also the only hope.

He sat cross-legged, taking out his last few Healing Pills from the Storage Ring and gulping them down. The pills lted in his mouth, nourishing his dry ridians like a trickling stream. Simultaneously, he began to operate the Chaos Technique.

However, the Spiritual Energy here was scattered and thin, filled with a cold, decaying aura. Operating the Chaos Technique was extrely sluggish and slow, and recovery was far less rapid than outside.

An hour later, Luo Qingchen barely regained so strength, though his complexion remained pale, at least he could now move freely.

He stood up, gripping the Black Dragon Sword, his gaze set on the endless darkness in the depths of the hall.

"Wan’er, Xiaowan, Ling’er... wait for ."

He took steady steps towards that unknown darkness. Each step pressed into the thick dust, producing a faint "rustle" that stood out clearly in the deathly silence of the palace.

anwhile, in a world completely different from the swamp and the underground ancient hall.

Lin Wan’er and Su Xiaowan only felt a swirl of rainbow light twisting, followed by a huge pulling force, and with a spin of the sky, the two landed heavily on soft grass.

"Ouch! My butt!" Su Xiaowan was the first to cry out, rubbing her sore bottom with a grimace.

Lin Wan’er imdiately checked on the Bai Ling’er in her arms. The little girl still had her eyes closed, breathing steadily, though her face was sowhat pale, and the leaf of the Nine Revolutions Soul Revival Grass on her forehead was dull.

"Ling’er is fine." Lin Wan’er breathed a sigh of relief and then looked around.

This was a lush and vibrant prival forest. Towering ancient trees with dense foliage blocked out the sky, with sunlight filtering through the leaves, casting dappled light. The air was rich with the fragrance of vegetation and the earthy scent of moisture; the spiritual energy, though not particularly abundant, was exceedingly pure and gentle, in stark contrast to the oppressive environnt of the Returning Ruins and swamp.

"Wow... it’s so beautiful here!" Su Xiaowan was also dazzled by the scene before her, montarily forgetting the pain, "Where... where did we end up? What about Brother Luo?"

She suddenly rembered Luo Qingchen, her face fell instantly, her eyes reddened: "Brother Luo... to save us..."

Lin Wan’er’s heart ached too, her eyes growing misty. She rembered clearly how Luo Qingchen resolutely turned around and threw out the Longsword to block the terrifying shadows for them at the last mont they entered the passage.

"Brother Luo... he will definitely be okay." Lin Wan’er’s voice choked slightly, yet carried a hint of firmness, "He’s so powerful, he will surely find us."

Su Xiaowan puckered her lips, tears welling in her eyes: "But... but where are we? How do we go back to find him? What if he’s in danger again?"

The Turtle Shell in her arms remained dull, unresponsive, seemingly having consud too much energy during the previous transmission and protection.

Lin Wan’er took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down: "Right now, the most important thing is to ensure Ling’er’s safety, then find a way to determine our location and look for Brother Luo’s clues."

She stood up, cautiously surveying the surroundings. Although the forest appeared peaceful, unknown places often harbored unknown dangers.

"Xiaowan, let’s find a safe place to settle first, then make our plans."
