On the arena stage, Jian Xinghe and the Twin Sword Sons faced each other from a distance. Sharp auras radiated from both sides, colliding and crackling in the air.
"Interesting. Is the very first match going to be a battle between fellow sect mbers?"
"The Twin Sword Sons are powerful, but they still can’t quite compare to Jian Xinghe. Still, it won’t be easy for Jian Xinghe to take them down."
The crowd was filled with anticipation. This was sure to be a spectacular fight.
"Senior Brother Xinghe, please forgive our offense."
Although the Twin Sword Sons were two people, their lives were connected by the Unity of Heart and Body Technique they cultivated, so they counted as a single combatant.
SLASH.
A blinding Sword Aura flared. The Twin Sword Sons struck simultaneously, one from the left and one from the right, attacking Jian Xinghe.
Their movents were perfectly synchronized, almost indistinguishable from one another. It was a terrifying sight, making it difficult to find any opening.
"Honestly, while both of the Twin Sword Sons are at the Young Giant Level individually, they’re probably not as strong as the other top Giants. But when the two of them team up, their power is on a completely different level."
"That’s right. If they couldn’t fight together, they never would have made it to the Eight-Mile region."
The crowd buzzed with discussion.
The other Young Giants watched the Twin Sword Sons with grave expressions. To them, the twins were a formidable enemy, and none of them could say with certainty that they could win.
CLANG!
Under the pincer attack of the Twin Sword Sons, a brilliant Sword Aura blood, shining as brightly as a river of stars.
"The Star Sword Sect’s Xinghe Sword Technique."
Soone with a discerning eye recognized the origin of the Sword Technique. The Xinghe Sword Technique was the ultimate Sword Technique of the Star Sword Sect, which only a select few were qualified to practice.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
The Twin Sword Sons’ attacks were also unique. With a swipe of their fingers across their blades, an extrely condensed Sword Aura shot out like a thunderbolt, unstoppable in its montum.
"The Twin Sword Sons cultivate the Star Pointing Sword Skill. Though not as domineering as the Xinghe Sword Technique, its strength lies in its flexibility, making it impossible to defend against."
One was the Xinghe Sword Technique, the other the Star Pointing Sword Skill. Both were Top Level Sword Techniques within the Star Sword Sect.
"Ninth Elder, with your Eye Power, which of these two Sword Techniques do you think is stronger?" soone from the Yanyue Sect asked Ning Jiang.
"One excels in overwhelming power, the other in flexibility. There isn’t a huge difference. What truly decides victory is the person, not the Sword Technique," Ning Jiang said faintly.
For true masters, what really mattered was their comprehension of the Sword Technique.
"Senior Brother Xinghe, thank you for the lesson."
After a hundred moves, the Twin Sword Sons sheathed their swords and cupped their fists towards Jian Xinghe. "We concede."
No one was particularly surprised by this outco.
"They are from the sa Sect, after all. It was never going to be easy to get them to truly fight to the death."
"It would be foolish for them to really go all out. If their trump cards were exposed, wouldn’t that put them at a disadvantage in the coming battles?"
Although the fight ended with the Twin Sword Sons’ concession, the crowd was still buzzing with excitent. The hundred-move exchange had been a thrilling back-and-forth, with both sides showcasing a level of skill that was peerless among their generation.
"Heh heh, fellow disciples can show rcy, but you won’t see that kind of courtesy from the other Sects."
Among the top ten, only Jian Xinghe and the Twin Sword Sons were from the sa Sect. The other top Giants all ca from different Sects, and they would surely give it their all.
"Alright, you two may step down and rest. We will now begin the draw for the second match."
After Ge Changming sent the two off, he began the next draw. Two nas appeared on the Jade Tokens.
Li Kuangba of the War Elephant Sect versus the newly erged Giant, ng Ji.
"Li Kuangba, you’d better give it your all. Otherwise, I don’t mind using you as a stepping stone to the top."
ng Ji’s fighting spirit blazed. Li Kuangba was a formidable opponent, yes, but at a mont like this, he absolutely could not waver. He could only press forward with unshakeable conviction.
"You’re pretty strong, but if you want to beat , co back in a few years."
Li Kuangba was lean and not particularly tall, on the shorter side. But his body contained explosive Power. Facing him felt like standing before a prival beast, oppressive and suffocating.
"ROAR!"
A wild roar erupted from ng Ji. The image of a giant tiger appeared around him. This tiger had two heads and the tail of a scorpion.
The na of this Cultivation Technique was related to an Evil Beast, the Two-headed Tiger Scorpion.
"This ng Ji seems to be from the Beast Gate. That Sect has always liked to deal with Demon Beasts and excels at taming them."
So people knew of ng Ji’s origins. Although the Beast Gate was a small Sect, it was one of the top-tier smaller Sects and was quite famous.
"A re parlor trick!"
Li Kuangba’s bones and tendons rang in unison, his blood surging. It was as if a War Elephant was trumpeting within his body, the sound deafening.
He stomped his feet on the ground, causing the air to explode. His body shot forward, and his two fists, imbued with terrifying Power, smashed down hard.
BOOM!
The arena shook violently. Fortunately, the stage was made of a special stone and the surrounding chains were of rare refined iron, allowing it to withstand such terrifying Power.
"As expected of Li Kuangba. He’s absurdly ferocious."
Many of the Martial Artists felt their hearts pound in their chests. The Power contained within Li Kuangba’s seemingly small body was earth-shattering. With just his two fists, he suppressed the Two-headed Tiger Scorpion around ng Ji with every blow.
"Li Kuangba, take this! Tiger’s Tail Swing!"
Pinned down and unable to gain any ground, ng Ji finally let out a furious roar. The veins on his forehead bulged, and his face turned beet red.
SLASH!
The tiger-scorpion’s tail swung, transforming into an afterimage that was impossible to block.
This strike was like the swing of a dragon’s tail.
A dragon’s tail could destroy a thousand mountains with a gentle flick.
"Hahahaha! What Tiger’s Tail Swing? Before , it’s nothing! Break!"
Li Kuangba’s voice was like a clap of thunder, making many people’s ears ring.
He threw a punch, and the phantom of a War Elephant appeared above his head. This War Elephant was as massive as a mountain, its physique robust, capable of suppressing everything in its path.
SPURT.
Under this punch, the Tiger’s Tail Swing was instantly broken. ng Ji spat out a mouthful of blood and was knocked off the stage.
"Li Kuangba is the victor," Ge Changming announced the result.
"Although ng Ji is a newly erged Giant, there’s still a clear gap between him and a veteran Giant like Li Kuangba."
The outco of this battle made many people realize the true strength of the established Giants.
Besides ng Ji, the other two newly erged Giants now had solemn expressions. Their strength was similar to ng Ji’s. Against the veteran Giants, their chances of victory were slim.
Soon, the draw for the third match was revealed.
"Liu Bingxue of Floating Snow Hall versus Gao Yun."
As Ge Changming’s voice echoed, many faces lit up with interest.
This was because this battle was a clash between the only two won in the top ten.
Liu Bingxue needed no introduction. She was a famous beauty in Qing Province, and the line of her admirers would be incredibly long.
As for Gao Yun, she was one of the recently erged Young Giants. She had the fierce temperant of a female general, and the black scorpion tattoo on her face gave her a cold, unapproachable aura.
"If there are no surprises, Liu Bingxue should win."
"Perhaps this Gao Yun has so trump cards of her own."
"Let’s wait and see."
The crowd’s discussion was endless.
Unsurprisingly, the majority of them supported Liu Bingxue.
On the stage, Liu Bingxue and Gao Yun stood thirty zhang apart.
CREAK. CREAK.
The mont Liu Bingxue stepped onto the stage, she activated her Ice Spiritual Qi, layering sheets of frost around her body. The astonishingly cold air caused the ground to freeze and countless rice-sized ice crystals to fall, dancing through the air.
All the Cultivation Techniques of Floating Snow Hall were related to ice and snow.
"Floating Snow Dance."
Snowflakes filled the air, radiating a terrifying chill. They looked beautiful and enchanting, lulling one into a false sense of security, but each snowflake contained frighteningly destructive power.
The snowflakes began to spin violently as they sliced forward.
"Slash!"
Gao Yun gripped a black, curved saber. It was a strange blade, thin and long, curved like the moon.
A black bolt of energy erupted, fierce and powerful, tearing through the endless curtain of ice and snow before her. She then leaped forward, agile as a gazelle, charging through the opening in the blizzard to close the distance with Liu Bingxue.
Her idea was sound. She knew that long-range attacks were Liu Bingxue’s advantage, so she planned to force a close-quarters fight.
"This Gao Yun’s Saber Technique is very strong, especially in close-quarters combat. That curved saber is unpredictable and impossible to defend against."
The crowd had all witnessed Gao Yun’s previous performance, where that black curved saber had defeated several Half-Step Giants.
But Liu Bingxue was, after all, an established Giant. Her strength was only greater than Gao Yun’s, not weaker.
"Freeze."
Liu Bingxue gently stomped her foot on the ground, and a wave of bone-chillingly cold air swept out.
"Break."
Gao Yun slashed out with her saber, and a blade of light erupted. But instead of tearing through the cold air, the saber light was frozen solid by it.
"What?" Gao Yun was stunned.
"That child Bingxue nearly froze herself to death in the Floating Snow Pillar cultivating this Extre Cold Qi. But looking at it now, it was worth it," the Floating Snow Hall Master said with satisfaction.
In less than ten moves, Gao Yun was defeated at Liu Bingxue’s hands.
"Liu Bingxue is the victor."
"Next match, Yuwen Chi versus Ying Yuxiao."
This was yet another showdown between an established Giant and a newly erged one.
"Just forfeit now and save yourself the embarrassnt," Yuwen Chi said arrogantly.
"Arrogant." Ying Yuxiao sneered. As his body moved, a series of afterimages appeared. A mont later, the entire stage was filled with his figures, making it impossible to tell which was real and which was fake.
This was a Cultivation Technique related to Body Technique. It was precisely because of this supre Body Technique that he had been able to fight his way into the top ten.
"Hmph, you can have ten million clones. I’ll just break them all with pure power."
Yuwen Chi laughed heartily. His body erupted like a volcano as a pillar of Fla shot into the sky, engulfing the entire stage. The terrifyingly high temperature turned the arena a blistering red.
PFFT.
Not long after, a figure was sent flying out, spitting blood.
In the end, Ying Yuxiao was outplayed by a single move. He was defeated by Yuwen Chi and suffered minor injuries.
After defeating Ying Yuxiao, Yuwen Chi shot a provocative glance at Ning Jiang and said coldly, "You’re next."
