Arthur opened his eyes in the ti chamber. His foundation was complete. Perfectly consolidated. Every one of the 81 stars shone with flawless brilliance.
He stood and stretched. His body felt light. Powerful. Ready.
"Two years of subjective ti remaining," Arthur said. He checked his internal sense of the ti dilation. "That’s more than enough for the next step."
His expression grew serious.
The foundation was done. His martial spirits were upgraded. Now ca the most important task, one he’d been putting off because his mories had been incomplete.
Mastering the 999,999 Dao Paths.
That was his original goal. The reason he’d created all those soul clones in his past life. Each clone had been tasked with mastering a different path of the Dao. Fire, water, sword, spear, formation, alchemy, space, ti. Every conceivable path that existed in the multiverse.
When he’d absorbed all 999,999 clones, their comprehension should have been his. But the mories had been sealed. Locked away by the backlash of his near-death and subsequent reincarnation.
Now, with his mories restored, Arthur finally understood the full scope of what he possessed.
"I have the comprehension of 999,999 complete Dao Paths locked in my soul," Arthur whispered. "Each one mastered to a profound level. All I need to do is unlock them."
But there was a problem.
Simply opening all those mories at once would be catastrophic. His sense of self would be overwheld. He’d lose his identity, drowned in a sea of 999,999 different personalities and experiences.
"I need a thod. A technique that lets access the comprehension without losing myself."
Arthur sat back down on the platform. His mind turned to the technique he’d been using. The Nine Heavens Soul Technique.
It was a powerful soul cultivation thod. It had already helped him awaken his original mories as Arthur Nightingale, the Immortal Supre. It had also helped him access so mories from his life as the Mortal Emperor.
But the Mortal Emperor wasn’t one of the 999,999 clones.
That realization had co with his restored mories. The Mortal Emperor had been a separate clone, created before the 999,999, specifically to master sothing different.
The Sovereign Dao.
"The Sovereign Dao isn’t part of the 999,999 paths," Arthur said quietly. "It’s the core. The foundation that allows one to rule over all paths. To be sovereign is to stand above all things."
That was why he’d created the Mortal Emperor clone separately. To lay the groundwork for practicing the Sovereign Dao before attempting to master all other paths.
The plan had been brilliant. Master the Sovereign Dao first, then absorb the comprehension of 999,999 paths while maintaining absolute control over them all through sovereign authority.
But things hadn’t gone as planned. He’d been attacked before the plan could complete. Forced into reincarnation. Scattered and sealed.
"Now I’m picking up where I left off," Arthur said. Determination filled his voice. "But I need to upgrade the Nine Heavens Soul Technique first. Make it capable of handling this task."
He summoned his Nine Heavens Universal Scripture Book Spirit.
The golden book materialized before him. It opened, pages flipping slowly, revealing cosmic mysteries written in ancient script.
Arthur had discovered the book’s true nature earlier. It was a growth-type spirit with infinite potential. It could absorb techniques, enhance them, and even create entirely new thods by fusing different comprehensions.
"This is your mont to shine," Arthur told the book. "I’m going to upgrade the Nine Heavens Soul Technique into sothing greater. Sothing that can handle unlocking 999,999 sets of mories without destroying my sense of self."
The book seed to pulse with excitent. Pages flipped faster.
Martial Spirits don’t have a consciousness of their own, but rather are extensions of the souls of cultivators.
Due to that nature, they have the ability to flow with the cultivators as it just like a body part.
Arthur closed his eyes and dove deep into his soul space.
There, he examined the Nine Heavens Soul Technique in its entirety. He understood its chanisms now. How it worked. Where its limits were.
"The technique has nine levels," Arthur reviewed. "Each level increases soul power mastery and allows access to deeper mories. I’ve already mastered the first three levels, which gave back my main mories."
"But to safely access 999,999 separate comprehensions, I need sothing more. Sothing that doesn’t just unlock mories, but organizes them. Categorizes them. Keeps them separate from my core self while still allowing to draw on their knowledge."
Arthur’s mind worked rapidly. His restored mories provided insights from countless cultivation thods he’d studied in his past life. He began pulling fragnts from different techniques.
A mory organization thod from an ancient soul sect.
A compartntalization technique used by immortals who possessed multiple personalities.
A Dao comprehension indexing system developed by a legendary scholar.
A filtration thod that separated pure comprehension from personal mories and experiences.
He examined each fragnt carefully, understanding their principles, their strengths, their weaknesses. Then he began the process of integration.
Arthur extended his consciousness toward the Nine Heavens Soul Technique’s core structure. It appeared in his mind as a complex web of glowing lines and nodes, each representing a different aspect of the technique.
He began with the foundation. The original technique used soul power to dive into mory fragnts and extract them forcibly. Arthur modified this approach. Instead of extraction, he created a connection system.
Threads of soul power that could link to mories without disrupting them.
The first modification took hours to complete. Arthur wove new pathways into the technique’s structure, careful not to damage the existing frawork.
Each thread had to be perfectly balanced, strong enough to access deep mories but gentle enough not to cause spiritual backlash.
Next, he worked on the organization chanism. The original technique simply unlocked mories in chronological order. Arthur needed sothing far more sophisticated.
He created a ntal construct within his soul space. A vast library with infinite shelves, each shelf capable of holding countless mory fragnts. But this wasn’t just storage. It was an active cataloging system.
Arthur programd the system to automatically sort mories based on multiple criteria. Type of Dao. Level of comprehension. Practical applications. Related techniques. Cross-references between different paths.
This process took even longer. Days passed in the ti chamber as Arthur ticulously crafted each aspect of the system. He tested different arrangents, refined the indexing algorithms, created fail-safes to prevent information overflow.
Then ca the most critical part. The filtration chanism.
Each of the 999,999 soul clones had lived complete lives. They had personalities, emotions, experiences, relationships. If Arthur accessed those mories directly, he would be bombarded with millions of lifetis worth of personal history. That would destroy his sense of self.
Arthur needed to filter out everything except pure Dao comprehension.
