*Gong!* *Gong!* *Gong!*
The continuous ringing of a bell was heard as many took their seats in the arena. The arena was big enough to contain tens of millions of people who ca to watch from all over the continent.
At this ti, a group of young n and won were gathered and each of them wore a Jade Token that symbolised their participation in the Grand Martial Arts Tournant.
"Senior, are these all the participants this year? I thought it would be more than this?"
"Indeed the numbers are greater than this as not all the participating cultivators were here. Which includes the top ten strongest of the continent's powerful forces."
The 18 Kingdoms of the Southern Continent each had a quota for their top ten, the ten great sects had theirs too and so did the one and only Royal Academy.
Moreover all the powerful direct descendants of the royal family each had a spot.
What this ans is that those who have taken up those spots are already qualified for the finals and only in the final battle will they show up in order to battle and determine where exactly they rank.
This ans that they are already qualified to be part of the journey to the Martial Emperor Secret Realm.
But of course many tongues would speak against such monopolization but there was nothing they could do.
That is why before the final rankings will begin, everyone of them is expected to have achieved a certain cultivation level to qualify for their quota or else it will be given to another person.
Moreover even if you do qualify with regards to your cultivation rank, everyone of them will stand and must receive at least one and at most three challenges from any who feels that their strength is not inferior.
If you lose, the one you lost to, will take your spot. This rarely happens though as many had misgivings about offending the force behind each prominent disciple.
But of course there will always be those who don't care at all, so there have been cases of disciples from powerful forces being defeated and getting their quota snatched by another who is more powerful.
There were a few who had such quotas that ca to watch the beginning of the tournant partly for entertainnt and partly to gauge the power of future adversaries.
But the truly powerful ones were not here. So were ditating, so were stabilizing their cultivation, and many were still trying to get a last minute breakthrough before it was ti to battle.
This was because there are many benefits to being ranked higher in the final position. Asides from the generous rewards for every ranked cultivator, there is a more important reason.
"Qin Tian," an aged figure standing with the support of a walking stick called out to the young man besides him.
"Grandfather," the young man halted his steps.
"You must rember, the least acceptable rank for you is the top 20. That will be the benchmark for our Qin Clan to rise again." The man spoke but his lips did not move.
Nevertheless, Qin Tian heard everything he said. Qin Tian's only response was a firm nod and a strengthening of the resolve hidden in his dark yellow eyes.
After seeing that his words had the desired effect on the young man the old man turned and left the arena without saying a word.
He only had to see his grandson off as for other things, he needs not watch as he firmly believes in the young man.
Besides, "I still need to keep those troubleso fellows in check. Just you wait until he returns from the Martial Emperor Secret Realm."
Qin Tian stood and watched his grandfather walk away until he couldn't see his figure again. Only then did he turn away and went to the arena where his number was assigned.
"Don't worry grandfather, I will bring the Qin to rise from the ashes once more and those damned undying birds will face retribution when the ti is right!" He gritted his teeth as he whispered these words to no one in particular.
Tis passed and soon the first round of the Elimination Battles began.
Elsewhere.
Anastasia stood before Arthur's mansion with a pout.
"He still isn't out yet? The tournant has already began."
After saying this, she signed.
"Father has been acting a bit off these days and I was hopyhe could help. He alwayhad a way with father."
"Don't worry Princess, Prince Arthur will definitely co out soon." Helia who was besides here spoke up at this ti.
Anastasia brightened up a bit and said, "That's right. Anyway I can't wait to see how strong he has beco."
"But I also can't wait to show him how strong I am now, hehe. I'm sure he'll be shocked," she smiled mysteriously.
After she began to awaken mories she couldn't explain, Anastasia began to understand more and more that Arthur was not simple at all.
She didn't see it before but now that she understood so things, Arthur beca increasingly mysterious in her eyes.
She felt the impulse to tear off the veil of mystery and see what he's hiding, a bit of mischief flashed in her eyes before she shook her head.
'I can't be that willful again.'
At this point she received a voice transmission that made her smile.
"Mother wants to see . Let's go Helia!"
With that she dragged Helia by hand and ran off to the Royal Palace.
The Queen has been in closed door recovery for a long ti and Arthur's dicine had proven to be very effective.
So effective that even Anastasia was shocked and almost alard as she now understood more than anyone how deadly her mother's situation was.
A she thought of this she felt a pang of guilt.
'It was all my fault. If not for , Mother should not have suffered so much.'
Soon she shook those depressing thoughts out of her mind and hoped to spend as much ti with her mother as she can.
After she left, a daunting pressure appeared around Arthur's mansion for less than a second and imdiately disappeared.
"What was that?!"
The great figures of the palace were alard and imdiately brazenly scanned the entire city with their soul power.
