"Oh? So it was your group that killed all the Jade Burning Fla Tigers along the way."

After joining the Red Fla Squad, Wang Xu chatted with the burly giant and learned that it was their squad that had slain the Jade Burning Fla Tigers, which explained why Wang Xu hadn’t encountered a single one.

"I need to temper my Imperial Armor, and the fire attribute of the Jade Burning Star’s Fla Tigers is the strongest." The burly giant said.

The burly giant was nad "Di Fu," a mber of the Giant Race known as the "Kata Slave Race."

The Imperial Armor he wore was etched with unique and profound patterns, emanating red light whenever it was attacked.

"Tempering? Can you explain what tempering is?" Wang Xu asked.

"Are you really a newbie? These are very basic things. Haven’t you learned about them in your tribe?" Di Fu said in surprise. For Cosmic Martial Artists, tempering is a thod to enhance one’s strength. A powerful artifact can turn the tide of battle in an instant. Tribes in the cosmos teach these basic skills while passing down secret techniques and combat skills.

Wang Xu shook his head.

"Tempering is a ans of enhancing artifacts." Di Fu explained, seeing that Wang Xu genuinely didn’t know. "The existing Warrior Armors and weapons have evolved naturally from stars, with primitive power. But after tempering, the capabilities of Warrior Armors can be greatly enhanced, and they might even gain new abilities."

"For example, my Imperial Armor." Di Fu pointed at his combat uniform with intricate patterns. "I’ve tempered a unique armor ability called ’Fire Scorpion.’ Once it gets attacked, it activates imdiately, increasing my armor’s defense by 50%."

"Defense capability increases by 50%!" Wang Xu was surprised. A Void Warrior’s armor could already mitigate 50% of the attack’s power when under assault. If the defense increased by another 50%, wouldn’t the mitigation reach 75%?

This would more than double one’s survival capability.

"I want to temper as well. Can you teach ?" Wang Xu earnestly asked. This thod of strengthening artifacts was too effective. If he could raise his White Jade Long Saber and his Defensive Void Warrior Armor by a level or two, his strength would soar, giving him a fighting chance even against Black Hole Level opponents.

"Tempering is simple. You just need to collect star cores and use flas to refine the Warrior Armors and star cores together." Di Fu advised. "But I must warn you, there’s a high chance of failure during tempering. You might want to hire a ’Refiner’ to help you. Although it might be costly, the success rate would be much higher."

Wang Xu nodded slightly. In simple terms, tempering is about strengthening, allowing artifacts to acquire new abilities through the refinent with star cores, becoming more powerful.

A Refiner is a profession born out of the process of tempering, similar to a chanician for whom ordinary people would seek help when dealing with machinery they can’t handle.

Subsequently, Wang Xu sought further details on tempering. With so free ti, Di Fu dutifully explained everything.

"You Xi, what do you think the captain was thinking about, letting an Initial Void Level youngster join the team? If there’s too much of a strength gap within the team, it could affect team strength and collaboration. The captain must be aware of this." Among the four tailing behind Di Fu, a man with pointed ears and carrying a longsword spoke up.

"Don’t question, Kuwen," a woman with skin as green as fish scales responded. "The captain has led us in battle for over a hundred years and has sharper judgnt than you. Trust him; he knows what he’s doing."

Kuwen snorted, "Hmph, Xu Bi, everyone knows you like the captain and always defend him..."

"Alright, stop arguing. The captain has already decided to let this Initial Void Level kid join. Our argunts won’t make a difference." The valiant man carrying a great saber, You Xi, said with a laugh.

"Can’t you tell Kuwen likes Xu Bi?" A man with complex patterns etched on his face chuckled.

The four laughed and joked at the back while Wang Xu and Di Fu walked ahead.

"Brother Wang, you’ve probably taken on a mission from the rcenary Martial Arts Hall, haven’t you?" Di Fu had realized Wang Xu was clueless, inferring that this newcor to Jade Burning Star must have been commissioned by the Hall.

Wang Xu nodded.

"What star level is the mission?" Di Fu inquired.

"Four-star." When Wang Xu said this, not only Di Fu but also the four people behind exchanged bewildered glances.

A four-star mission is usually only taken by Cosmic Martial Artists of Extre Void Level, yet he, an Initial Void Level, took on a four-star mission?

In the rcenary Martial Arts Hall, the highest mission level external rcenaries can take is five-star. To take on a five-star mission, one must be either a Black Hole Level expert or a squad of Extre Void Level. Although four-star missions are considerably easier, they’ve never heard of an Initial Void Level taking on a four-star mission alone.

Is he brave, or maybe not very bright?

"Wait," Di Fu’s face suddenly changed, raising his hand to signal everyone to stop. "There’s a Star Giant Beast nearby."

"Ye Tun, go scout it out." The man with complex facial patterns nodded, and then the patterns on his face flashed as he began to fade and turned transparent.

Wang Xu was moved. What kind of ability is this? To beco invisible?

Seeing Wang Xu’s astonishnt, Di Fu softly explained, "Ye Tun cos from the Stone Conceal Race. It’s a natural ability of their tribe."

The cosmic tribes truly weren’t simple. Di Fu’s Kata Slave Race naturally has a staggering height of over ten ters and enormous strength; the Stone Conceal Race naturally possesses the ability to conceal themselves, whereas humans seem comparatively weak, having no special abilities.

In just a mont, Ye Tun’s figure reappeared.

"Captain, there are three Jade Burning Red Dogs ahead," Ye Tun said.

Di Fu frowned. Three Jade Burning Red Dogs were beyond what they could handle: "Retreat."

Imdiately, everyone nodded in agreent to take a detour.

"Just three Jade Burning Red Dogs, and we’re letting them go?" Wang Xu said.

Upon hearing this, everyone was stunned and speechless.

Just three Jade Burning Red Dogs... it won’t let us go if encountered!

Wang Xu didn’t know, not every Cosmic Martial Artist had his fortune, mastering Formless Giant Power and comprehending the Heaven and Earth Will while wielding powerful Void Warriors... Not to ntion his White Jade Long Saber, already fearso at Void Level.

The White Jade Long Saber was a gift from Qing Zhang. Ostensibly a Void Warrior, Wang Xu could sense it was far more formidable than typical Void Warriors.

Thus, Wang Xu could challenge Extre Void Levels and even point his saber at Black Hole Levels.

But Di Fu and the others were ordinary Cosmic Martial Artists. Advancing to Void Level with the aid of secret techniques was already not easy. Hunting a single Jade Burning Fla Tiger required team coordination. If the formation broke, injuries could follow, leading to casualties.

Facing three Jade Burning Red Dogs, they had no chance of victory and could only opt to detour.

This explained why Wang Xu saw so much life on the Jade Burning Star; the Red Fla Squad couldn’t tackle them.

"Brother Wang, the threat posed by the three Jade Burning Red Dogs is too great for us. At most, we could handle one," Di Fu explained.

Wang Xu sighed. Watching the massive energy and Cosmic Crystals slip away without being able to claim them was painful.

"Alright." He regretfully joined the squad in taking a detour.

The four’s lips twitched. This newcor wasn’t just brave; he was extraordinarily daring.

Monts later, the Red Fla Squad finally encountered a lone Star Giant Beast. Imdiately, they positioned themselves for an attack.

The formation of the Red Fla Squad was flawless. Wang Xu seed almost redundant, standing at the back unsure of what to do.

"Watch out!" Di Fu suddenly shouted, seeing a mountain-like giant claw crashing down on Wang Xu!

Wang Xu frowned; he hadn’t done anything at the back. Why was this Star Giant Beast targeting him?

But since it attacked him, he naturally wouldn’t sit still and take it.

The White Jade Long Saber suddenly appeared. Wang Xu brandished it, charging forward to et the attack!

"What are you doing? Co back!"

"Damn, he’ll get killed like that!"

"Is he crazy? Is there sothing wrong with his head!"

Seeing Wang Xu neither dodge nor evade, but instead clash with the Star Giant Beast, the others were exasperated.

Yet in a flash, a fleeing stream of light sliced through, tearing the beast’s claw apart. And then its massive body followed suit!

Crash!

Blood and flesh sprayed in all directions. The intimidating Star Giant Beast was reduced to fragnts!

"Star Core!" A red energy core hovered in the air. Wang Xu’s eyes lit up, and he imdiately seized it.

"Madness... truly insane..."

"I might go crazy... What on earth happened?"

Di Fu and the other four stood there in astonishnt, dumbfounded by the sight before them.
