Chapter 517: Ambush

The Demonic Beasts under the command of the Purple Fla Scorpion King were fervently raiding Spiritual Sites, advancing in scattered directions, which gave Zhang Chunfeng and his team an opportunity to exploit.

On the other hand, the Moli Clan from the north posed a formidable challenge. They had rallied all the Demon Clans, converging southward with a clear objective. Along their path, they disregarded any Spiritual Sites they encountered, showing no interest whatsoever.

It seed their sole purpose was Qingxu Mountain Range, as they were determined to reach it and occupy the premium Spirit Vein within. In stark contrast to the Purple Fla Scorpion King's continued absence, the fourth-tier Moli Patriarch had made multiple appearances during their advance.

Given the strength of the Moli Clan, even if Wang Hong were to gather all his forces, they would barely stand a chance against them. Currently, the only team responsible for defending the northern front was led by Luo Zhongjie.

Under such circumstances, defending against the Moli Clan was a daunting task. Fortunately, Wang Hong had given Luo Zhongjie the authority to act independently. Facing the overwhelming strength of the Moli Clan, Luo Zhongjie was not willing to engage them in a direct confrontation. He feared that a single clash could deplete the East Zhou team.

If a head-on battle were necessary, it shouldn't be now.

Therefore, he strategically placed various traps and ambushes along the path of the Moli Clan's advance, continuously weakening their forces. As a result, the Moli Clan hadn't even detected the presence of Human Clan Cultivators along their route and had already lost tens of thousands of low-tier Demonic Beasts.

At tis, while they were progressing, they would suddenly discover large swaths of low-tier Demonic Beasts dead, and even second-tier Demonic Beasts couldn't escape this fate.

Upon realizing they were poisoned, they had to send out a few specialized Demonic Beasts capable of detecting such toxins to clear the way ahead. This significantly slowed down their progress, but they weren't in a hurry. They played it safe, advancing slowly towards Qingxu Mountain Range.

Their sole objective was to ultimately seize Qingxu Mountain Range.

Even with this cautious approach, their safety wasn't guaranteed. On one occasion, as they passed through a canyon, a violent explosion occurred, burying many low-tier Demonic Beasts within. Upon investigation, it was revealed that this was caused by the simultaneous activation of nurous Talismans. What puzzled them was that Human Clan Talismans typically required a certain distance to trigger and couldn't be used in excessive numbers simultaneously. They couldn't fathom how the they managed to accomplish this.

Furthermore, while passing through a jungle, the vines suddenly ca to life, entangling a multitude of Demonic Beasts, including third-tier ones. It was only thanks to the intervention of the Moli Clan Patriarch that they were saved.

Despite encountering countless ambushes on their journey, it couldn't halt the relentless advance of the Moli Clan. They remained steadfast in their pursuit of the Qingxu Mountain Range, and no one could directly impede their progress.

Luo Zhongjie and the East Zhou team could only retreat further and further. Their retreat differed from Zhang Chunfeng's Revival Battle Team, as they were completely powerless and could only withdraw. Eventually, when they had no more room to retreat, they would have no choice but to face a head-on battle.

In the Kaiyang Mountain cave mansion, Wang Hong had already consud two several millennia-old Scarlet Blood Ginsengs consecutively. His Spiritual Power surged within him like the mighty Yangtze River.

Within his dantian, a Golden Core the size of a goose egg shone brilliantly. Two crimson Flying Swords circled around the Golden Core, spinning slowly.

Suddenly, there was a "crack" as a tiny crack appeared on the surface of the Golden Core. This crack gradually expanded and spread outwards, eventually connecting to others, resembling the shattered shell of an egg.

From this broken Golden Core, a Daoist Master-shaped phantom erged, initially no larger than a fist and sowhat indistinct. However, this phantom gradually solidified, showing signs of becoming corporeal.

As this phantom solidified further, the surrounding Spiritual Qi in the world began to rush towards it in a frenzy, forming a vortex of Spiritual Qi that expanded continuously. It spread from Wang Hong's location to encompass Kaiyang Peak, eventually affecting the entire Qingxu Mountain Range.

On Qingxu Mountain, many Cultivators who had been ditating suddenly found that they couldn't absorb any Spiritual Qi, as if it had vanished from the area. This was remarkable, considering the presence of a large Spirit Vein, and it was a testant to the extraordinary forces at play.

People began to erge from their cave mansions to investigate. They saw a massive funnel-shaped vortex of Spiritual Qi forming in the sky above Kaiyang Peak, pouring into the cave mansion at its peak.

Such an imnse amount of Spiritual Qi flowed continuously, as if there were a bottomless pit below, absorbing all this Spiritual Qi.

"What's happening?" Most of Wang Hong's subordinates were from humble backgrounds and had never witnessed such a phenonon.

Of course, there were a few who were more knowledgeable, and one of them ventured an explanation: "East Master might be undergoing Nascent Soul breakthrough. I've read about it in a book before; it seems sowhat similar, although not on this grand scale."

"It's only natural that it's on such a grand scale. Our East Master is an exceptional talent, far beyond the reach of ordinary Cultivators."

In such monts, the Ma Brothers couldn't resist offering flattery.

"Yes! East Master's abilities are beyond our comprehension."

Despite so agreent from nearby Cultivators, they couldn't help but cast disdainful glances at the Ma Brothers.

At this point, all the gathered Spiritual Qi flowed through the massive vortex and into the cave mansion. It had effectively depleted the vast natural Spiritual Qi of Qingxu Mountain Range. ????Ν??Β????

To restore it, the Spiritual Qi would need to slowly seep out from the Spirit Vein, disperse into the atmosphere, and this wouldn't happen quickly.

Once the vortex of Spiritual Qi disappeared, the sky, which had been clear just monts ago, gradually ford a colossal dark cloud over Kaiyang Peak.

Seeing the mysterious appearance of the dark cloud, so more knowledgeable individuals decided to explain while taking the opportunity to shine.

"When advancing to the Nascent Soul stage, one must face a heavenly tribulation. At the sa ti, it indicates that East Master has successfully condensed his Nascent Soul. This is the final step."

"Well done! Once East Master achieves Nascent Soul, we will have a Nascent Soul Cultivator among us. We won't need to fear those fourth-tier Demonic Beasts anymore."

"It's not that easy. When breaking through to the Nascent Soul Realm, although challenging, the worst-case scenario is a failed breakthrough, and you can try again. However, in this final test against the Heavenly Tribulation, even a slight mistake could result in annihilation during the tribulation. Throughout history, many extraordinary Cultivators have t their end due to the grudge of heavenly tribulations."

Just then, the dark clouds in the sky pressed down on Kaiyang Peak, shrouding the entire area in gloom. Within the dark clouds, lightning flashed, as if a bolt of lightning could strike at any mont.

Simultaneously, a small figure erged from Kaiyang Peak and hovered in the sky above. It bore an identical face to Wang Hong and seed to be waiting for the imminent arrival of the sky's lightning.
