Chapter 699: Chapter 666: No One Can Take It Away _1
Soon after, Qin Feiyang turned to look at Yiyi. At that mont, she was looking down, her hands clenched tightly on her sash, her eyes full of struggle. Qin Feiyang said nothing; this decision was hers to make.
He looked at the Black Dragon Snake and the Boulder Beast, asking, "Are you going?"
"Absolutely," the Boulder Beast replied without hesitation. Having tasted the benefits of unlocking its Door of Potential, it had resolved to stick with these formidable figures for the rest of its life.
The Black Dragon Snake, however, hesitated. Suddenly, it looked at Qin Feiyang and asked cautiously, "If I refuse to go, will you kill
to silence ?"
Qin Feiyang laughed. "Although we haven’t known each other for long, I respect your choice. Besides, my original intention was for you to stay in Spirit State."
"Really? In that case..." After a mont of internal struggle, the Black Dragon Snake gritted its teeth. "I’ll go! At worst, it’s death."
This was a gamble! Although the journey to the Imperial Capital was fraught with danger, it was also an opportunity. If Qin Feiyang really did beco the emperor of the Great Qin Empire, then it would be a hero, wouldn’t it? It would soar to great heights in the future!
Qin Feiyang smiled and turned to Lu Hong and Fatty. "Continue organizing the dicinal materials."
The two nodded.
Then, Qin Feiyang led the Wolf King to the head of the bridge, looking up at Ren Duxing and Ren Wushuang. The father and daughter stood on the iron-chain bridge, talking and laughing, an especially heartwarming scene.
Sensing Qin Feiyang’s aura, Ren Duxing also looked towards him, nodding with a smile. Qin Feiyang returned a faint smile.
Following this, Ren Duxing looked down at Ren Wushuang and said gently, "Shuang’er, it’s ti for you to go back."
Ren Wushuang’s expression changed. "But I want to stay with Dad a little longer," she said hastily.
Ren Duxing fondly rubbed Ren Wushuang’s head. "Silly girl," he smiled, "won’t there be more opportunities in the future?"
"But..." Ren Wushuang started to say.
Ren Duxing shook his head with a smile. "Don’t be hesitant. You’re grown up now; you should understand that all good things must co to an end."
Ren Wushuang pouted, aggrieved. "Then, can you tell
why you’re staying here?"
"No," Ren Duxing chuckled. "Didn’t you just say you wouldn’t ask anything?"
"Alright then!" Ren Wushuang looked down, her eyes filled with reluctance.
SIGH! Seeing this, Ren Duxing sighed inwardly. With a wave of his hand, he swept Ren Wushuang towards Qin Feiyang and the Wolf King.
A few monts later, the father and daughter landed at the head of the bridge, though Ren Duxing did not step off the iron-chain bridge.
"Uncle Ren," Qin Feiyang greeted him respectfully.
Ren Duxing sized up Qin Feiyang and nodded. "To break through to a one-star War Ancestor so quickly, not bad at all."
Qin Feiyang smiled. "Uncle Ren, your strength is truly unfathomable!"
"It won’t be long before I’ll be the one looking up to you," Ren Duxing said, shaking his head with a chuckle. He then looked at Ren Wushuang beside him. "Shuang’er, I have so private matters to discuss with Qin Feiyang. Could you step away for a mont?"
Ren Wushuang’s brow furrowed, her face filled with displeasure. "Hiding things from
again! What do you take
for?"
"Shuang’er, don’t be willful," Ren Duxing said. "Father isn’t letting you know for your own good."
HMPH! Ren Wushuang snorted, walked off the iron-chain bridge, and headed into the distance, shooting Qin Feiyang a fierce glare before she left.
Who did I even offend to deserve this? Qin Feiyang felt rather frustrated.
Once Ren Wushuang was further away, Ren Duxing said apologetically, "Feiyang, my girl is just like that. Don’t mind her."
Dare I mind? Qin Feiyang managed a bitter smile. He composed himself and asked uncertainly, "Uncle Ren, what did you want to talk about?"
Ren Duxing asked, "In this Nine States War, how many people achieved victory?"
"Let
think..." Qin Feiyang pondered for a mont. "Wan Chou, Feng Wuxie, the twin sisters, the four from Ling Yu’s group, Tan Wu... Excluding those from our Spirit State, there are nine in total."
"And from Spirit State, who were the victors?" Ren Duxing inquired.
"Lu Xingchen, Dong Zhengyang, my elder sister, and Shen i," Qin Feiyang replied.
Ren Duxing fell silent for a mont, lost in thought. "Among them, did anyone strike you as... off?"
"Off?" Qin Feiyang carefully recalled. "If anyone seed off, it would have to be Lu Xingchen."
"How so?" Ren Duxing asked, surprised.
"First, he was hiding his cultivation. Initially, we all thought he was a seven-star War Emperor. But in the end, I discovered he’s stronger than all of us—a three-star War Ancestor. Second, in the Netherworld, he secretly aided people from the Void State and You State several tis. Third, he seems to know everything; no matter what we encountered, he was well-inford about it," Qin Feiyang explained.
Ren Duxing frowned. "Why would he help people from the Void State and You State?"
"I don’t know either," Qin Feiyang said, his own brow furrowing. "I asked him, but he didn’t say. However..."
"However what?" Ren Duxing pressed.
"He told
he bears
no malice and, in fact, owes
a favor. But I honestly can’t recall when I ever helped him," Qin Feiyang said, perplexed.
"You single-handedly destroyed the Lu Family. Logically, he should hate you..." Ren Duxing muttered. "It seems there really is sothing off about this person. Feiyang, Uncle Ren has a request."
"What is it?" Qin Feiyang asked, puzzled.
"Do you rember I once told you that among the participants of the Nine States War, there might very well be Mu Tianyang’s pawns?" Ren Duxing said gravely.
Qin Feiyang’s pupils contracted. "You an... Lu Xingchen is that person?" he asked, startled.
"I don’t know," Ren Duxing replied. "But he warrants our closest attention. So, I want to ask you, after you enter the Imperial Capital, to do everything possible to keep track of his movents."
Qin Feiyang frowned. "Uncle Ren, to be honest, I really don’t want to get involved in these matters."
Ren Duxing was silent for a short while. "Feiyang, I know this will put a lot of pressure on you, but I truly can’t find anyone else suitable."
Qin Feiyang sighed helplessly. "Alright, I’ll do my best."
"Doing your best is good enough," Ren Duxing smiled. "Rember, inform
imdiately if you find anything."
"Understood," Qin Feiyang nodded.
Ren Duxing waved his hand. "Go on then. Work hard, and while you’re at it, help
look after Shuang’er."
"I will. I’ll take my leave now," Qin Feiyang said with a cupped fist salute, then turned and walked towards Ren Wushuang.
WHOOSH! Ren Duxing glanced at the two humans and one wolf, then also leaped into the great canyon, disappearing into the storm.
All the while, the Wolf King hadn’t spoken a single word, seemingly lost in thought. After they had gone so distance, it transmitted its voice, "Xiao Qinzi, there’s sothing I’m not sure you want to hear."
"What is it?" Qin Feiyang asked,愣愣地.
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend," the Wolf King said, its eyes glinting coldly. "We could absolutely cooperate with Mu Tianyang and use his power to destroy your enemies in the Imperial Capital."
"Not bad, you’re actually using your brain now," Qin Feiyang glanced at it with surprise, then shook his head. "But I won’t do that. Cooperating with Mu Tianyang is like asking a tiger for its hide. Besides, his goal is to destroy the Great Qin Empire. I only want revenge."
"Then what if he genuinely tries to destroy the Great Qin Empire?" the Wolf King asked.
"Public matters are public, private matters are private. I won’t sit by and do nothing," Qin Feiyang declared, his voice firm and resonant. "No matter what changes, the Bloodline Power flowing within
will never change. Nobody will take away the lands of my Great Qin!"
The Wolf King’s pupils contracted. Qin Feiyang’s final words had truly startled it. It seed a bloody storm was indeed destined for the future.
At that mont, Ren Wushuang ran over, asking anxiously, "Feiyang, where’s my father?"
Qin Feiyang turned to look at the now-empty iron-chain bridge and smiled. "He’s probably left!"
"Left?" Ren Wushuang’s face fell. "He left without even saying goodbye! Does he even care about , his daughter?" she exclaid angrily.
Qin Feiyang sighed. "Alright, stop complaining. Uncle Ren has it tough too."
Ren Wushuang’s brow furrowed. She scrutinized Qin Feiyang for a mont. "Little brother, tell
honestly, you know everything about my father’s situation, don’t you?"
"What situation?" Qin Feiyang looked completely baffled.
A series of dark lines appeared on Ren Wushuang’s forehead. "Stop playing dumb with !" she snapped. "Quick, tell , why did he stay here?"
"My dear lady, I honestly don’t know! If you want to know, go ask your father! Can you please stop pestering ?" Qin Feiyang was utterly exasperated.
"If he were willing to tell , would I be asking you?" Ren Wushuang grumbled. She grabbed Qin Feiyang’s arm and grinned. "Feiyang, please, just tell your elder sister, okay?"
When tough tactics failed, she resorted to a softer approach.
But Qin Feiyang didn’t fall for it. He firmly pried her fingers off, opened a portal, and stepped through without a backward glance.
"You rotten brat! I’m not done with you!" Ren Wushuang stomped her foot angrily and imdiately chased after him.
「State City.」
「Treasure Pavilion of the East City!」
Inside the lounge.
"That wretched boy is back. Why didn’t he co looking for ?" Yin Yuanming paced back and forth in the room, clearly agitated. "Does he expect
to always be the one to seek him out? He has absolutely no respect for his elders."
The "wretched boy," of course, referred to Qin Feiyang. Yin Yuanming had received news of Qin Feiyang’s return shortly after it happened and had imdiately co back to the lounge to wait. Naturally, it wasn’t Qin Feiyang he was missing, but those top-grade dicinal pills. But after waiting for so long without any sign of Qin Feiyang, resentnt began to fester.
"Damn him, damn him!" he cursed angrily and took out an Image Crystal Stone.
WHOOSH! Just then, two people and a wolf appeared out of thin air in the lounge.
"Hmm?" Yin Yuanming startled, turned his head, and his face imdiately lit up with ecstatic joy.
Who else could it be but Qin Feiyang?
He imdiately scurried over, chuckling. "Brother Qin, you’re back! Why didn’t you let
know? I would have prepared a welco for you!"
"Old Fox, if you want dicinal pills, just say so. Can you stop being so hypocritical?" the Wolf King said disdainfully, picking its nose.
Yin Yuanming’s expression stiffened. "What are you talking about?" he barked. "Wolf cub, let
tell you, my friendship with Brother Qin—Heaven and Earth can bear witness to it!"
Qin Feiyang’s face twitched. He’s even invoking Heaven and Earth. This Old Fox really is desperate for those dicinal pills, he thought.
"Keep bluffing!" The Wolf King shot Yin Yuanming a contemptuous glance, then jumped to the floor, tapping and feeling around as if searching for sothing.
"Stop looking, there are no treasures here," Yin Yuanming huffed at it, then turned to Qin Feiyang with an enthusiastic invitation. "Brother Qin, please, take a seat."
