An official ssenger moved a chair to place it beside a General.
Li Ping’an, however, gestured for the ssenger to place the chair behind him. He then sat opposite Li Jing, facing eight Generals alone.
These eight Generals, though mostly mortals, were all heroes who had fought their way out of battlefields.
Li Ping’an’s action made them sowhat displeased. An elder General glared at Li Ping’an, as if ready to devour him.
Two Generals spoke in succession:
“Has the Marquis of Xibo not taught Prince any etiquette?”
“The Prince sitting across from us—what is this? A demand for accountability or a move to challenge?”
Li Ping’an smiled gently, with his hands tucked into his sleeves, and said slowly, “The eight Generals command over a million elite soldiers across the Eight Great Eastern Passes; how dare I challenge you? However, as you have co uncalled for, especially at such a ti, it sowhat breaches protocol. This ti, I am indeed here to ask a few questions on behalf of His Highness, the Prince.”
“Such audacity!”
“Even your father would not dare speak to in this manner!”
“Ah,” Li Jing raised his hand slightly, and the Generals fell silent imdiately.
Li Jing appeared to be the youngest among them—yet with a middle-aged appearance—still, he exuded extraordinary presence, with a grandeur to devour countless miles of mist and waves.
Li Ping’an was filled with admiration.

Li Ping’an raised his hand in invitation.
Li Jing stood up, about to proceed, but suddenly rembered sothing and patted his forehead.
