Capítulo 1628: Chapter 590: Li Jing’s Hidden Hand (Part 3)

One does not strike a smiling face.

Li Jing sat composedly in his chair, put down his teacup, and said warmly, “Prince, you are too courteous. Please take a seat. The official ssengers here are all reasonable, and all matters follow proper etiquette; there has been no lack in hospitality.”

An official ssenger moved a chair to place it beside a General.

Li Ping’an, however, gestured for the ssenger to place the chair behind him. He then sat opposite Li Jing, facing eight Generals alone.

These eight Generals, though mostly mortals, were all heroes who had fought their way out of battlefields.

Li Ping’an’s action made them sowhat displeased. An elder General glared at Li Ping’an, as if ready to devour him.

Two Generals spoke in succession:

“Has the Marquis of Xibo not taught Prince any etiquette?”

“The Prince sitting across from us—what is this? A demand for accountability or a move to challenge?”

Li Ping’an smiled gently, with his hands tucked into his sleeves, and said slowly, “The eight Generals command over a million elite soldiers across the Eight Great Eastern Passes; how dare I challenge you? However, as you have co uncalled for, especially at such a ti, it sowhat breaches protocol. This ti, I am indeed here to ask a few questions on behalf of His Highness, the Prince.”

“Such audacity!”

“Even your father would not dare speak to in this manner!”

“Ah,” Li Jing raised his hand slightly, and the Generals fell silent imdiately.

Li Jing appeared to be the youngest among them—yet with a middle-aged appearance—still, he exuded extraordinary presence, with a grandeur to devour countless miles of mist and waves.

Li Ping’an was filled with admiration.

He was wondering whether to seize an opportunity to bring more Heavenly Generals to the mortal world for training.

How many years has it been since Li Jing ca to the mortal world? He had already acquired the deanor of a Great General.

Li Jing smiled and said, “The Prince is also correct. Our coming unannounced does indeed break so rules… there is an important matter that requires our joint representation, which is why we rushed here.”

“Oh?” Li Ping’an asked directly, “What important matter?”

Li Jing replied solemnly, “This matter can only be reported to His Highness, the Prince.”

A female guard behind Li Ping’an spoke up, “Does General Li not know that a word from my lord in Chaoge City is equivalent to half a word from the Prince?”

Li Ping’an:…

Is there really such a thing?

Li Jing pondered for a few monts.

He had co to Chaoge City primarily to carry out the task assigned by His Majesty, the Heavenly Emperor, to form factions and weave a network within the court of the Shang Kingdom, controlling more Ministers.

In the whole of Chaoge City, he was the only Heavenly Immortal, practically holding all power.

But he had just sensed the disturbance in Chaoge City through his Immortal Consciousness and saw that Black Tiger.

Not to ntion, this Black Tiger’s cultivation was at least at the Celestial Immortal Summit, yet it was crushed silently by an expert, leaving him unable to fathom the depths of the turbulence in Chaoge City.

So, if not for the incident with Black Tiger, Li Jing would not have spoken extra to a young man at this mont.

But now that the Black Tiger incident happened…

“It concerns the Dongyi Tribe.”

Li Jing spoke softly:

“Sohow, the Dongyi have acquired a large supply of provisions and weapons, preparing to invade the borders of the Great Shang.

“The Marquis of Dongbo, Jiang Clan, to preserve their own strength, has secretly reconciled with the Dongyi Tribe. The direction of the Dongyi Tribe’s attack is very likely to be so of our passes.”

Li Ping’an nodded slightly.

Li Jing’s reason was quite believable.

The dealings between the Marquis of Dongbo and the Dongyi Tribe have not been a secret for a day or two, with both sides often collaborating to capture people as sacrifices and fulfill the ‘Si Fang Bo’s daily tasks’ in Chaoge City.

Li Ping’an spoke slowly, “In that case, I ask one of you to accompany to see His Highness, the Prince. With His Highness’s permission, you may then properly enter Chaoge City.”

Li Jing said with a smile, “In that case, I will make the journey with you, young man.”

“General Li, please.”

Li Ping’an raised his hand in invitation.

Li Jing stood up, about to proceed, but suddenly rembered sothing and patted his forehead.

He said, “On my side, I still have two gifts prepared for His Highness, the Prince. Wait a mont, I will fetch them from the inner chamber.”

Li Ping’an couldn’t help but tilt his head.

What is Li Jing up to?

Soon after, he saw Li Jing return from the back courtyard of the inn, now carrying two ornate boxes.

One box contained a bright Luminous Pearl, and the other contained an Elixir Pill.

The Elixir Pill… emitted a faint red glow, seemingly capable of strengthening the body’s essence and controlling a person’s mind.
