There was a bit of awkwardness in Shen Chi’s eyes; after all, he’s a man, and naturally not used to such direct questions.

So, he coughed lightly and redirected the topic, "Let carry you to the bed to rest."

Xu Chaomu felt a bit disappointed; he wouldn’t directly answer her.

"I don’t need rest. I want to go to the studio to work." Xu Chaomu pushed his hand away.

"Is your health or your work more important?" Shen Chi was sowhat displeased.

"Of course, work is more important."

"..."

Xu Chaomu dashed into Yu Weiwei’s bedroom and opened the wardrobe.

No wonder he never wanted her to work. If she indeed had no work, when the ti ca for her to leave with nothing, she’d hardly dare to make any demands.

It has to be said, Shen Chi is really astute.

No business, no deceit.

But when she opened Yu Weiwei’s wardrobe, she was dumbfounded.

Inside were all the clothes Yu Weiwei hadn’t taken with her; the styles were very outdated, all from years ago.

It’s understandable; Yu Weiwei hadn’t lived here for a long ti.

Oh well, Xu Chaomu casually grabbed one.

"I bought clothes for you; they’re on the sofa." Shen Chi spoke softly behind her.

Xu Chaomu paused, "Didn’t you say they weren’t for ?"

"Just teasing you."

"Not funny at all."

Xu Chaomu took a dress from Yu Weiwei’s wardrobe; she was ready to change, but Shen Chi had no intention of leaving.

Anyway, he’s seen it all before; he’s probably already tired of her body.

Xu Chaomu didn’t bother avoiding him either, tossing aside the towel and putting on the dress.

Shen Chi’s heart thumped a few tis; she really didn’t mind.

Changing in front of him, was he not seen as a man?

A surge of fire rose within him; Shen Chi couldn’t hold it back, so he walked out of the bedroom.

However, in Xu Chaomu’s view, it was blatant disdain.

She knew her body wasn’t great—no curves or voluptuousness—but did he have to act like that?

Did he not understand what a blow this was to a woman?!

Shen Chi took out the clothes from the bag, just about to hand them to Xu Chaomu when she already ca out.

Without even looking at him, she grabbed her bag and was ready to head out.

"Xu Chaomu." Shen Chi called out to her, "This evening in the private room at Wanghu Building, I’ll be waiting for you."

Xu Chaomu paused, unsure how to respond.

She loved the food at Wanghu Building, so there was a dedicated VIP room there for her.

Usually, she’d ask him to eat there or go with friends.

For him to ask her... was rare.

Did he want to say sothing to her?

Or was it that all her speculations were right?

"Oh." Xu Chaomu responded indifferently, heading towards the door.

"Rember to have Xiaomo prepare you so brown sugar tea." Shen Chi reminded.

Xu Chaomu didn’t respond anymore; she had already left.

Shen Chi looked at her departing figure before retracting his gaze.

He really didn’t know what misunderstanding she was having with him, or did she believe he had another woman outside?

...

As soon as Xu Chaomu arrived at the studio, she received a call from Xiaobao.

"Mom, mom..."

"Baby, what’s the matter?"

"Mom... you ntioned last ti that you’d join the school’s parent-child activity. Does your word still count?"

"..."

Xu Chaomu hesitated for a mont; at this juncture, she didn’t know if she should keep her word.

Parent-child activity clearly ant the whole family would participate.

"Mom!" Xiaobao called again, "The teacher is gathering nas. Are you and old Shen coming?"

"You should ask your dad." Xu Chaomu couldn’t make decisions.

"Isn’t Dad always listening to you?" Xiaobao pouted.

"When has he ever listened to ?" Xu Chaomu replied flatly.

"Oh, then I’ll call old Shen." Xiaobao prepared to hang up, "Oh right, mom, you didn’t co ho last night, and old Shen didn’t either. Are you both abandoning and my little brother?"

Shen Chi didn’t co ho either?

Xu Chaomu rubbed her temples, weary: "I know, I’ll co ho tonight."

"Great! Promise you won’t break your word. My brother and I are waiting for you."

"Hmm."

"Okay, I’ll hang up now and call old Shen."

Xiaobao was still a child, and couldn’t hear the tone or emotions in Xu Chaomu’s voice.

Then he dialed Shen Chi’s phone: "Dad, are you coming to the parent-child activity?"

"When is it?"

"In about half a month."

Shen Chi paused for a mont: "Ask your mom."

"Huh? I just called mom, and she said to ask you; she couldn’t decide."

Upon hearing this, Shen Chi smirked; if she couldn’t decide, how dare he?

"Do you want us to go or not?"

"Of course, I hope you go." Xiaobao was full of anticipation.

He’d heard the parent-child activity was lots of fun. He hadn’t taken part before.

Every ti, those who ca in the top three would be quite smug, and he heard there were lots of prizes too.

"Dad, I’ve never attended before. I think if we join, we could definitely win first place." Xiaobao was getting increasingly excited.

"Let discuss it with your mom."

"Huh?" Xiaobao assud that Old Shen would be more straightforward, his eyes showing slight disappointnt.

"Dad has a eting now; pay attention in class."

"Okay, goodbye, Dad."

"Hmm."

...

Seven o’clock at night, private room at Wanghu Building.

Xu Chaomu didn’t expect to arrive first.

The location of this room was excellent, allowing one to stand by the window and overlook the entire city center.

Outside, the lights were just beginning to shine, bustling and noisy.

On the other side of the room was a natural lake, the moon reflecting on the lake, clear water rippling with light.

Xu Chaomu took off her coat, without too much unpleasant mood, and directly called the waiter.

Since she was there, she didn’t want to waste the trip. She liked the food here, so she decided to eat first.

She didn’t know if Shen Chi was coming alone or with soone, but she only ordered what she liked.

The dishes were already served, but Shen Chi still hadn’t arrived.

She had never eaten alone at Wanghu Building before; today... was quite an experience.

After eating for ten minutes, Shen Chi still hadn’t arrived, causing Xu Chaomu to feel a bit sad.

Her heart was heavy...

The dishes that were typically delicious tasted particularly bitter today.

As she was about to finish a plate of sweet and sour pork, the door of the room opened, and a gust of wind blew in.

"Good evening, Mr. Shen. Mrs. Shen is already inside." The waiter bowed.

"Hmm."

Xu Chaomu looked up; Shen Chi had arrived.

But... who was this woman following him?

The woman wore a sapphire blue strapless cocktail dress, with wavy hair half draped in front of her shoulders and half behind.

Wearing red high heels, the woman followed Shen Chi, her face adorned with a smile.

This woman was sexy, mature, alluring and charming, with a great figure.

Unfortunately, Xu Chaomu was a woman; otherwise, she’d want to flirt with her too.

Shen Chi graciously pulled out a chair for this woman, before sitting beside her.

Xu Chaomu stared at them throughout, watching for a long ti before putting down her chopsticks.

The room’s door was shut, making Xu Chaomu feel entirely uncomfortable at this mont.
