Capítulo 1726: Chapter 1726: n Are Just Unreliable (8)

Xu Chaomu closed her eyes, not wanting to pay him any mind.

Not saving the design draft was truly a heartbreaking matter.

“Mumu.”

Shen Chi shook her shoulder, coaxing her in a soft voice, gentle like water.

Xu Chaomu remained silent, and rembering how she had done nothing wrong yesterday yet Shen Chi got jealous and misunderstood her, she felt even more upset.

More importantly, Shen Chi showed no intention of apologizing!

Thinking of this, Xu Chaomu felt sadness, a heavy sadness.

She kept her eyes closed and silent, letting Shen Chi shake her shoulder.

“Really that angry?” Shen Chi frowned, realizing the seriousness of the situation. Xu Chaomu would only stay silent when she was angry. “Alright, I’ll give the car back to you, don’t be mad, okay?”

Xu Chaomu still didn’t speak. It was worse that he ntioned the car, making her even more frustrated.

He gave it as he pleased, and next ti he could take it back if he wanted, did he think she was so easy to bully?

“Mumu…”

“Go away.”

“…”

Shen Chi tried to coax her several tis but couldn’t bring her around, so he had to go downstairs.

Xiaobao and Erbao were discussing sothing, and when they saw their dad coming down, they sat upright, looking serious.

Since Xu Chaomu was angry, Shen Chi had no choice but to make lunch himself to coax Xu Chaomu downstairs.

“Dad’s cooking.” Erbao said to Xiaobao, finding it as surprising as discovering a new continent.

Xiaobao was dismissive: “He must have made mom mad, otherwise Dad wouldn’t be cooking.”

“Is dad not going to cook for us?” Erbao asked.

“Isn’t that obvious? We have no status at ho.”

“So what did dad do to make mom mad?”

Xiaobao lowered his voice: “He must’ve had a little lover found out.”

“Then we need to hurry and find the little lover.” Erbao said seriously.

“Hmm!”

During lunch, Xu Chaomu originally didn’t want to co down, but she couldn’t resist Shen Chi’s coaxing, so she relented.

“Let’s take the boys to the amusent park this afternoon,” Shen Chi said while peeling shrimp.

“Oh.” Xu Chaomu could muster not an ounce of interest.

Xiaobao and Erbao, on the other hand, were very excited: “Wow, we get to go to the amusent park!”

“Brother, it’s my first ti going!”

“I’ve only been three tis myself.”

“That’s so few.” Cute little Erbao blinked his big eyes.

Their banter made Xu Chaomu feel a pang of guilt.

Shen Chi, however, didn’t feel much about it: “Shen Yun, if you end up at the bottom of the class next ti, I won’t take you out to play.”

“Oh.” Xiaobao lowered his head.

Shen Chi peeled a shrimp, and Erbao imdiately leaned over: “Dad, is that for ?”

“It’s for your mom. If you want to eat, peel it yourself.” With that, Shen Chi tossed the shrimp into Xu Chaomu’s bowl.

Xiaobao: “…”

Erbao: “…”

Xu Chaomu ate the shrimp, feeling sowhat comforted inside.

When she looked up and saw the envious glances from Xiaobao and Erbao, Xu Chaomu almost felt too embarrassed to eat.

But there was no need to feel embarrassed; thinking of the lost design draft made her heart ache.

That was all her hard work…

For the sake of the boys, she seed not to be angry with Shen Chi on the surface, but when they went out to play in the afternoon, she still wasn’t too willing to walk too close to Shen Chi.

“Today is Sunday, so it’s very crowded. I’ll make a call to clear the park,” Shen Chi sought Xu Chaomu’s opinion.

Xu Chaomu shook her head: “The fun of an amusent park is in its lively atmosphere. If you clear the park, the boys won’t find it exciting.”

“Oh, then we’ll do as you say, listen to you for everything,” Shen Chi said.

On the road, Shen Chi tried to hold Xu Chaomu’s hand, but she wouldn’t let him.

“Are you still mad at ? I had soone help restore the design draft, recover as much as possible. As for the car, I’ve had the lawyer put it under your na,” Shen Chi said.

He felt that every ti he had a quarrel with Xu Chaomu, he was the one who ended up losing out.

Whenever Xu Chaomu put on a stern face and ignored him, he was out of options.

After saying that, he took Xu Chaomu’s hand, and she finally stopped sulking.

Over the years, Shen Chi kept a low profile and rarely appeared in large public settings, so even when walking in the amusent park, no one recognized him.

Xiaobao and Erbao played happily, sotis on the carousel, sotis on the roller coaster.

With their dad around, they didn’t have to queue, enjoying their playti more freely than other children.

Xu Chaomu grew tired and sat at the side watching the kids play.

Shen Chi pulled her into his arms: “Mumu, what you said last night really broke my heart.”

“What did I say?”

“You said you didn’t care for my car, nor for as a person.”

“The first part is false, the second part is true.”

“…” Shen Chi’s mouth twitched.

Xu Chaomu glanced at his expression and then turned her head to smile.

On the carousel, Xiaobao and Erbao sat side by side, whispering as they played.

“Mom and Dad seem to have made up,” Erbao whispered.

“They’re just play-fighting, nothing surprising,” Xiaobao had seen it all too often and wasn’t fazed at all.

If only Dad could spend half the attention he gave to Mom on them, they would be thrilled.

“Brother, they took us out to play today. When will the next ti be?” Erbao asked with anticipation.

“Maybe there won’t be a next ti.”

“Boohoo…” Erbao cried imdiately.

“Shh, so we need to remind them of our presence occasionally, so they care more about us.”

“What does reminding them of our presence an?” Erbao thought the concept was too sophisticated.

“It’s like…” Xiaobao scratched his head, “for example, if I scored a hundred, would you pay attention to ?”

“I would.”

“No, wait.” Xiaobao looked up at the sky, his mind ticking over, “I an, if I scored a hundred or scored zero, which would make you feel I needed more attention?”

“I don’t understand.” Erbao blinked.

“…” Xiaobao gave him a disdainful look, “Dummy.”

Never mind, his little brother was too young; Xiaobao decided not to explain further.

“So, brother, what should I do?” Erbao asked curiously.

“Next ti, aim for a zero score, understood?” Xiaobao thought that was the most straightforward approach.

“I can’t, I’m too smart.” Erbao shook his head.

“Then skip class, rip up your books, be naughty, can you do that?”

Erbao still shook his head: “That’s what bad kids do.”

Xiaobao looked up speechlessly, no longer counting on his brother: “Forget it, forget it.”

Erbao chuckled to himself, thinking secretly, no way he was aiming for zero; there’s no reward for it.

Stuff like that should be left to his brother.

Beside the carousel, Xu Chaomu and Shen Chi sat side by side, Shen Chi handed Xu Chaomu a bottle of drink.

“Shen Chi, travel less for work in the future and spend more ti with the boys,” Xu Chaomu said nostalgically.

“You too, attend fewer fashion shows,” Shen Chi said, “Besides, isn’t it good for to take care of you?”

“You, take care of ? You give a car today, and tomorrow you take it back. If I offend you one day, will you stop feeding ?” Xu Chaomu sarcastically remarked.

“…” Shen Chi figured that Xu Chaomu would hold this against him for a lifeti.
