Capítulo 1702: Chapter 1702: Mutual Support Is Inferior to Forgetting Each Other in the Rivers and Lakes (8)

However, after taking a closer look at Wen Zhiyuan, the butler noticed his expression.

Without waiting for Wen Zhiyuan to reply, the butler hesitated, unsure of what to do.

“Butler,” Wen Zhiyuan spoke.

The butler’s hand was resting on the door fra, not intending to let Wen Zhiyuan enter. She only asked softly, “Dr. Wen, why did you co to lbourne? When did you arrive?”

“I just arrived not long ago,” Wen Zhiyuan replied, “I ca to see Adi.”

“Dr. Wen, Miss is fine, she’s just staying in the hospital,” the butler tried to conceal.

“I know her character; if there were no issues, she definitely wouldn’t co to the hospital, let alone stay.” Wen Zhiyuan stated bluntly.

The butler wanted to speak but stopped, unsure of how to tell Wen Zhiyuan.

Wen Zhiyuan looked inside; it was spacious, but he didn’t see a hospital bed.

“Butler, can you let in to see Adi?” Wen Zhiyuan feared she would refuse, so he added, “Even if it’s as a friend.”

“Dr. Wen, it’s not that I won’t let you in, but Miss needs rest, and since Mr. Qin is here, you don’t need to worry.”

“Then Butler, can we speak privately?” Wen Zhiyuan also took a step back.

He could see that neither Shen Di nor the butler seed to welco him.

He didn’t think he had done anything wrong, maybe he was overthinking.

The butler nodded, closing the door to the hospital room.

They walked to the corridor by the window, Wen Zhiyuan pulled down his scarf, his gaze locked on the view outside.

The butler glanced at Wen Zhiyuan, eight years had passed without seeing this man, and he wasn’t much different from the Dr. Wen she rembered; just eight years later, he was more mature and steady.

She hadn’t deliberately inquired about Wen Zhiyuan, but she heard he was still unmarried.

The butler knew Wen Zhiyuan loved Shen Di deeply, but she always thought n wouldn’t be so devoted, much less wager a lifeti of marriage.

Yet she was wrong…

From the day she t Wen Zhiyuan, she was wrong.

Gazing at the tall tree outside, Wen Zhiyuan spoke faintly, “Butler, long ti no see.”

“Yes, eight years,” the butler agreed, having aged, her face bearing many wrinkles.

“Butler, tell the truth, how is Adi’s health? I want to hear the truth.”

“Dr. Wen, Miss’s health has always been not very good; you know that. So, there’s no truth to hide.”

“I’ve heard she’s almost been living in the hospital this year.”

“Yes, it’s convenient for treatnt.”

“If the condition wasn’t serious, she wouldn’t be staying in the hospital!” Wen Zhiyuan countered the butler, turning around.

His gaze held confusion, puzzlent, and a slight anger.

Even the butler seed to guard against him as if he were a thief, unwilling to tell a single truth?

The butler’s face remained composed, “Dr. Wen, actually you don’t need to worry too much, for Miss now has Mr. Qin with her, and it’s quite good.”

“You all seem not to welco .” Wen Zhiyuan felt disappointed.

The butler hesitated; they didn’t actually dislike him, just…

“Can I see her?” Wen Zhiyuan pleaded.

“I need to seek Miss’s opinion.”

“Butler, sotis I don’t understand; compared to Qin Chen, where do I fall short? Is it because I’m too strict with Adi?” Wen Zhiyuan sighed.

The butler didn’t know how to respond to Wen Zhiyuan; he wasn’t inferior to Qin Chen, in Shen Di’s heart, he would always be the best.

Precisely because she loved the most, she was most cautious…

“Maybe.” The butler only answered vaguely with those words.

“In these eight years, has she ever thought of ?” Wen Zhiyuan wanted to ask.

“I don’t know,” the butler replied, “After all, you were together for almost five years, she might have.”

Wen Zhiyuan felt utterly disheartened, what did “might have” an…

“I miss her very much.” Wen Zhiyuan said softly.

In the past eight years, he had been busy with work, but in those rare monts of leisure, what he thought of most was her.

“Dr. Wen, wait a mont, I’ll go and ask Miss.” The butler said.

The butler left, Wen Zhiyuan looked out the window.

In these eight years, the occasions they t were few and far between, yet each ti, she was sowhat indifferent to him.

He thought during those five years he hadn’t done anything wrong; if it was just being too strict, why did she detest him to such an extent.

The butler entered the hospital room, Shen Di was sitting on the hospital bed, drawing with a sketchbook.

Shen Di looked haggard, she coughed lightly, brows furrowed.

Qin Chen was peeling an apple beside her, the two of them spoke little, and the hospital room was unusually quiet.

“Butler, was soone just here?” Shen Di asked.

She only heard the door sound, but didn’t know who it was.

The butler nodded, “Yes, Dr. Wen.”

Shen Di paused, lowered her eyelids, “Why did he co…”

“He’s still outside, he wants to see Miss, Miss, should I let him in?” the butler asked cautiously.

Shen Di pressed her lips tightly, without making a sound.

Instead, Qin Chen set down the apple, stood before Shen Di’s bed, “Adi, let him accompany you, don’t be foolish.”

Shen Di’s eyes showed panic, she shook her head, “Don’t let him in, I won’t see him.”

“Adi!” Qin Chen frowned, looking at Shen Di with concern.

Shen Di’s tone was weak, her gaze sowhat scatterbrained, “I know I don’t have much ti left, so rather not see him.”

“But being with him even for a day is good, isn’t it?” Qin Chen countered.

“No, he should have his own life, I don’t want to burden him. Being with him for four years was already my selfishness.” Shen Di said calmly.

Qin Chen looked at her, unsure of what to say; this woman was foolish beyond cure.

“Long pain is worse than short pain…” Shen Di lowered her eyes.

The butler’s eyes turned red; she deeply understood Shen Di’s feelings for Wen Zhiyuan, yet… who could bear to see Shen Di like this.

For Shen Di, letting go was a form of fulfillnt.

“Butler, tell him to go, to return ho. Tell him Shen Di stopped loving him long ago, don’t let him pester anymore.” Shen Di said.

The butler felt heartache, and Qin Chen’s heart also ached.

The butler truly wanted to call Wen Zhiyuan in, but she couldn’t.

“Cough cough.” Shen Di clutched her chest.

Suddenly, a mouthful of blood fell onto the sketchbook, and a bright flower blood on the white paper.

“Adi!” “Miss!”

Qin Chen hurriedly supported Shen Di, holding her gently in his arms. To Shen Di, he was more like a brother, but for him, knowing Shen Di was a fortune.

“I’m fine.” Shen Di shook her head, “Butler, go tell him to leave.”

“Yes, I’ll go now. Miss, take care of your health.”

The butler turned around, wiped her tears, and walked out of the hospital room.

“Mr. Qin, thank you for accompanying all these years, I’ve been selfish.” Shen Di looked at Qin Chen.
