Capítulo 1698: Chapter 1698: Mutual Support Is Inferior to Forgetting Each Other in the Rivers and Lakes (4)

Years later, when Xu Chaomu and Shen Chi held their wedding, Shen Di returned to the country.

Her health had been deteriorating, and she spent most of the year in the hospital.

Qin Chen was always by her side. Their relationship was pure, based on affection and bound by propriety.

Qin Chen was a gentleman. Although he loved Shen Di, he knew soone else resided in her heart, and he never forced her.

Recently, Shen Di heard that Wen Zhiyuan had neither married nor had a girlfriend, and she beca anxious.

In her anxiety, she dragged him into an engagent.

Originally, she thought that after getting engaged to Qin Chen, Wen Zhiyuan would give up and marry soone else, but Shen Di never expected that at Xu Chaomu’s wedding, after eight years, he would stop her in the dressing room.

In the dressing room, a sudden pain struck her chest, and she slipped into the room when no one was looking.

Just as she was about to close the door, soone pushed it open!

It was Wen Zhiyuan!

Since Wen Zhiyuan had left Australia, their etings and conversations had been few and far between.

Each ti they t, he was still the sa, gentle as jade.

Neither of them ntioned the past. They treated those years as if Wen Zhiyuan was just her family doctor and she was just his patient.

To outsiders, it seed like nothing had ever happened between them.

“Adi!” Wen Zhiyuan called out in a worried voice, walking into the dressing room and lifting her off the ground.

Despite having told himself many tis to let her go, after so many years, he had abandoned that thought.

To him, Shen Di was a lifelong love he could never forget.

Even though she was engaged and would soon be married, he had promised to watch her happily walk down the aisle. Only then could he be at peace.

Shen Di tightly grasped his suit, looking weakly at the door, “Close the door, don’t… make them worry.”

Ti seed to reverse suddenly, as if it was the third day after their encounter, when Ling Feng and Gu Luoluo had angered her so much that her chest hurt, and he had rushed to her side just like this.

This scene, so familiar, so familiar…

Shen Di forced her eyes open and looked at him, at his face so close to hers.

If only she could really go back to that year, how wonderful it would be…

He would smile and coax her, and she would foolishly smile and listen to him talk.

However, fate had never favored her…

Wen Zhiyuan dug into her bag, pulling out the ergency dication. Upon seeing the bottle, he couldn’t help but scold, “Didn’t I tell you not to take this dicine?! Doesn’t Qin Chen care for you?!”

Shen Di clutched his suit tightly, beads of sweat as large as peas seeping from her forehead and nose.

This familiar tone reminded her of the past, although back then, he hadn’t been this angry.

Of course, she hadn’t been this unruly back then either.

But she still gritted her teeth and said faintly, “Don’t worry about .”

“You’re still arguing with in this state. How many tis have I told you, this dicine, although effective, is like drinking poison to quench thirst, it shouldn’t be taken unless absolutely necessary. And here you are, carrying it with you everywhere?” Wen Zhiyuan said angrily.

Shen Di knew this reasoning.

However, her condition had worsened to the point where she had to rely on such dication.

Over the years, her health had declined year by year, though she understood this herself, Wen Zhiyuan did not know.

“Doesn’t Qin Chen care for you?” Wen Zhiyuan couldn’t help but ask.

Back then, Qin Chen had promised him he would take good care of Shen Di.

But being a doctor, how could he not understand such a simple principle?!

“Not everyone is as ddleso as you,” Shen Di said lightly, her eyes unfocused.

“Yes, you’re right. Ever since I t you, you’ve always said I was ddleso and self-deluded.”

“I don’t need you to care. This is an old problem of mine,” Shen Di pretended it was no big deal.

Apart from Qin Chen, everyone else, including her parents and youngest brother, was unaware of the true state of her health over the years.

“You know it’s an old problem and still drink, Shen Di, do you have a death wish?” Wen Zhiyuan questioned her.

This reasoning, Shen Di also understood; how could she not?

In fact, through these years, she had nearly abstained from alcohol completely.

The most she ever drank was when she broke up with Wen Zhiyuan.

“I know, and I still drink, just self-destructive,” Shen Di replied indifferently to Wen Zhiyuan.

She didn’t want too many entanglents with Wen Zhiyuan; in a couple of days, she would leave C City.

Her acting was poor; she feared he would expose her face-to-face.

After all, she wasn’t even sure how much of the lie she told eight years ago she still rembered.

“Why do you never consider others, always so headstrong! You’re engaged to Qin Chen, you should be responsible for yourself and your family!” Wen Zhiyuan reprimanded her.

He never thought Shen Di would remain so unchanged; had she fallen for soone other than Qin Chen?

“If Qin Chen isn’t mad, why are you?” Shen Di laughed, provocatively looking at Wen Zhiyuan.

“Yes, I’m self-deluded,” Wen Zhiyuan’s lips curved into a sarcastic smile.

Afterward, whatever Wen Zhiyuan said, Shen Di couldn’t rember clearly, for the pain in her chest was too severe, making her whole body uncomfortable.

However, she distinctly rembered that when Wen Zhiyuan was drunk, he pressed her down on a chair, not giving her a chance to resist, and kissed her lips.

This kiss, after eight years, still carried the most familiar breath.

So familiar, so missed…

Over eight years and nights, she dread of him kissing her more than once, his kisses always gentle and patient, except for their final one.

This kiss, like the last one, carried so anger, but was still filled more with pity and tenderness.

Shen Di indulged and was overwheld, her thoughts inevitably drifted back to the past.

As a result, she couldn’t help but recall their child, they once had a child…

But Qin Chen was truly a man who kept secrets. What she didn’t want to be said, he kept completely silent about.

Long after, Wen Zhiyuan finally released Shen Di.

He looked into her eyes, intoxicated…

How long had it been since he looked at her like this? He truly loved her too much.

“Adi…” he called her na.

“Wen Zhiyuan, stay away from ! I have a fiancé, if you keep this up, don’t bla for disregarding our past,” Shen Di spoke bluntly.

“These past eight years, the tis I’ve seen you can be counted on one hand, and when I finally see you again, I’m rejected by you again.”

“Wen Zhiyuan, we already broke up, don’t tell , you still love .”

“Yes, you’re right, very foolish, isn’t it?”

This ti, Wen Zhiyuan didn’t evade his feelings. He still loved her, deeply.

He couldn’t help but fall in love with soone new, his heart belonged only to her.

“Yes, exceedingly foolish, beyond redemption!” Shen Di shouted.

Her heart ached; Wen Zhiyuan was truly the most foolish man she’d ever known. Eight years had passed, she was engaged, and he still loved her.

What did he love about her, so heartless, so resolute…

A fool, even more foolish than she was.
