Chapter 1619: Chapter 1619: Do You Know What a Ring ans (4)

The low, hoarse voice echoed in the air, intermingling with the sound of rain, slowly dissipating.

No one responded to him, so he called out again urgently: “Chuqing!”

From afar, Xia Chuqing heard him, but when she thought of the things he said, she bit her lip fiercely, refusing to make a sound.

He accused her of trying to seduce Yao Hongming, mocked her for being unworthy of Yao Hongming…

Is this how he truly sees her? Perhaps, this is actually the deepest thought hidden in his heart, just sothing he never verbalized.

He was considerate of Chaomu’s face, unwilling to say these things to her directly, but it doesn’t an he doesn’t think this way in his heart.

In fact, she knew he had much more left unsaid.

For instance, her father is a corrupt official, not only unworthy of Yao Hongming, but also of him, Xiao Mo. Xiao Mo choosing her as a girlfriend was only her luck, suggesting she still had so value. Yet, she remained picky…

Thinking this way, Xia Chuqing’s heart turned cold, colder than the early morning wind.

Perhaps it was the rain hitting her body for too long, gradually numbing her, hands and feet chilled, shoulders shivering.

This villa area was so remote, she couldn’t even hail a taxi.

Moreover, if she calculated correctly, it should be nearly two in the morning now.

Never had she been so embarrassed; since eting Xiao Mo, she tasted all the bittersweet flavors of life…

Xia Chuqing’s lips slowly turned purple with cold, her head dizzy, gradually, her face started to feel numb, the rain falling on her body without feeling.

She couldn’t even shiver anymore, her vision blurred, collapsing into the rain.

The world turned chaotic, seeming to leave only the sounds of rain and wind, the elents brushing against her cheeks, everything was icy.

Leaves falling, ti moving forward.

When she woke up again, Xia Chuqing shifted her body, feeling heavy, unable to open her eyelids.

Her body felt like it was burning, scorching her uncomfortably.

Her throat also felt dry, leaving her feeling like she was burnt by fire.

Where is this place, where is she…

Wanting to make a sound, she realized her throat was stuck, unable to speak.

“Thirsty…” she frowned, feeling miserable.

Wanting to open her eyes but couldn’t.

“Thirsty… water…” she called out in a voice only she could hear.

Still, no one answered her, she felt terrible, moving her arm.

Her arm knocked over the teacup on the bedside cabinet, with a loud clang, the cup shattered on the floor, producing a huge sound!

She woke up a bit more, rembering she had fainted on the ground in the rainy night.

And then… she couldn’t rember…

“Chuqing!”

A tense call ca to her ears, followed by hurried footsteps.

This voice made her unconsciously grasp the sheet tightly and clench her teeth.

It was Xiao Mo.

“Do you want to drink water?” Xiao Mo ca over, seeing that she was awake, quickly grabbing her hand.

His large hand felt her forehead, sighing: “Still having a fever.”

“Don’t touch .” Xia Chuqing forcibly opened her eyes, withdrawing her hand.

Now she rembered everything, she had quarreled with Xiao Mo, quite intensely, he cursed her and drove her away.

Now, this place, was still her bedroom, she was still at his house.

“Don’t move, you’re on an IV, wait until you get better, then you can scold as you like.” Xiao Mo looked embarrassed.

Alcohol really isn’t a good thing; soone as rational as him was acting crazy that night as well.

He thought, he was crazy, insanely jealous, jealous of her chatting with Yao Hongming…

“What ti is it.” Xia Chuqing cald down, looking at the ceiling with empty eyes.

“Sunday, eight in the morning.”

Sunday… she had been sleeping for two full days and nights…

Her whole body was burning up, she knew she had a fever.

Her throat seed to burn like fire, she didn’t want to speak anymore, but her expression remained calm.

“I’ve arranged leave for you, don’t worry about work, Xiaofeng is handling your matters.” Xiao Mo continued, “Other things, we’ll talk after you recover.”

“There’s nothing to talk about, leave.” Xia Chuqing coldly closed her eyes.

Actually, she should be the one to leave; who was she to make him leave?

Nothing here didn’t belong to him, even the IV she was on was paid for by him…

“Alright, I’ll leave.” Xiao Mo gripped her hand briefly and poured her another glass of water.

Downstairs, a man was sitting on the sofa looking at a tablet.

Hearing Xiao Mo coming down, he said lightly: “Is she awake?”

“Yes.” Xiao Mo sat next to him, “Go upstairs and check on her.”

Wen Zhiyuan looked up: “Weekend, finally have a day off, you insist on dragging here.”

“Isn’t this out of trust?” Xiao Mo glanced at him.

“Then you better send soone to take back later, your place is too remote.”

“I’ll personally take you back.”

“Deal.”

Wen Zhiyuan put down the tablet and went upstairs to check on Xia Chuqing.

Even though Xiao Mo hadn’t said anything, Wen Zhiyuan could clearly see the two had quarreled, quite severely too.

It seems there are no couples who never fight in this world.

If they never fought, just how deep could their feelings be?

Because certain unpleasant emotions, like jealousy, only arise from loving too deeply.

Wen Zhiyuan viewed things lightly; he ca here only to fulfill his duty as a doctor, not to diate.

Matters of emotion have to be settled by the parties involved themselves; no one else can help.

After checking Xia Chuqing’s condition and handing dicine to Xiao Mo, Wen Zhiyuan finally tidied up his dical kit, preparing to leave.

“Let’s go, I’ll take you.” Xiao Mo patted Wen Zhiyuan’s shoulder.

Xia Chuqing wasn’t asleep; she knew it was Doctor Wen who ca.

She only opened her eyes again after there was no movent downstairs, silently gazing at the ceiling.

Everything Xiao Mo said ca back to her, those words hit her chest like waves, relentlessly.

Guai Guai squeezed in through the door crack, wagging its tail at Xia Chuqing, and barked twice, looking quite happy.

“Guai Guai, co here.” Xia Chuqing turned her head towards it.

“Woo woo…”

Guai Guai wagged its tail, trotted over to Xia Chuqing.

It jumped into Xia Chuqing’s embrace from the bedside table, Xia Chuqing reached out from the blanket to hold it.

“Guai Guai, shall I take you away from here, alright? Would you miss this place? Though it’s good here, it doesn’t belong to you, nor does it belong to …” Towards the end, Xia Chuqing’s voice lowered.

“Guai Guai, so people lack a heart, they won’t care for you.”

Xia Chuqing’s tone was faint, as if speaking to Guai Guai, but also seemingly to herself.

“Just because soone hasn’t said certain things doesn’t an they don’t want to say them; they rely understand weighing benefits and drawbacks, hence refrain.”

At this mont, Xia Chuqing only had Guai Guai as her speaking companion.

“He’s so smart, how could he like .” Xia Chuqing’s words were steeped in desolation.
