Chapter 1603: Chapter 1603: No One Will Spoil Her for a Lifeti (5)

Xia’s mother quietly entered the room and made a cup of tea for Xiao Mo.

Today the sky was overcast, the sun didn’t co out, and the wind felt cold on the face.

While making the tea, she made a phone call to Xia Chuqing: “Chuqing, co back.”

“Mom, I’m not going back. I just got to my old classmate’s place, it doesn’t make sense to return now. She’s getting married, and I’m discussing the wedding with her,” Xia Chuqing made up an excuse.

“There’s no one else here. Tell clearly, what’s your relationship with Mr. Xiao?”

“Boss and subordinate, nothing else.”

“You can deceive your grandparents, but do you think you can deceive ? I watched you grow up—you don’t think I know what’s on your mind?” Xia’s mother was displeased. “What are you still hiding from ?”

“No, Mom, there’s truly nothing else between him and .”

“He seems to care about you a lot.”

“He’s always very caring to people in our company.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

“Alright, I won’t ask anymore. Just take care of yourself. Anyway, he’s outside waiting for you, and it looks like he won’t leave until he sees you.”

“Mom, make him leave, use any thod you can.”

“Your mother isn’t that capable,” Xia’s mother replied faintly.

After hanging up, Xia Chuqing was restless. Was Xiao Mo really waiting outside her ho all this ti?

Last night’s events began to replay in her mind like a movie; she knew avoiding the situation like this was not rational.

She glanced at her phone; Xiao Mo had called her quite a bit, but he hadn’t called again after arriving at her house.

Xia Chuqing proactively dialed his number, saying flatly, “Mr. Xiao.”

“Where are you?”

As always, his voice was deep and hoarse, mingled with the sound of the biting northern wind.

“At my old classmate’s place. I told you not to pick up; I’ve already bought a ticket.”

“Address.”

“Don’t co over; my friend doesn’t welco strangers.”

“I can’t explain properly over the phone. Either you co back, or I go over,” Xiao Mo said in a deep voice, his expression cold.

“There’s nothing difficult to explain. Mr. Xiao, I’m not avoiding you, I’ve just thought it through. Didn’t you ask for an answer today? I can give it to you now.”

“Whatever it is, say it to my face.”

“Whether face to face or not, isn’t it the sa? I’ve considered it; I don’t plan to be your girlfriend, and I haven’t had feelings for you in a long ti,” Xia Chuqing said calmly.

Compared to last night, she was indeed calm.

Even without what Yao Jia told her, she and he were not well-matched, not suitable.

In her eyes, he seed more like an exalted existence, suitable for soone better, at least, she wasn’t his perfect match.

“Is that all?” Xiao Mo kept his temper, but his face was becoming increasingly ugly.

“Yes.”

Xiao Mo thought he’d treated her well enough these days, and he could tell she seed quite happy.

He originally imagined she would be moved, at least say to him, let’s try.

But now, she rejected him.

“This kind of thing, I want you to tell face to face,” Xiao Mo said. “I’ll wait for you.”

“Why are you so persistent? Fine, I’ll co back and tell you in person now,” Xia Chuqing said.

Hanging up the phone, Xia Chuqing took a bus back ho.

From afar, she saw Xiao Mo’s car, and beside it, he stood quietly.

From a distance, Xiao Mo in a black coat resembled a tree, his back straight and his side profile sowhat cold and grim.

Xia Chuqing was dazed for a mont, just looking at him.

He was like the bright moon and stars, while she was like the humble grass and dust.

He stood with legs slightly crossed, his gaze fixed on the ginkgo tree in their family courtyard.

Winter had co, and the ginkgo’s leaves had long fallen, leaving behind bare branches, not beautiful at all.

Ultimately, it had to be faced; Xia Chuqing walked over.

“Mr. Xiao,” she spoke, her gaze falling on him.

Xiao Mo turned his head, his expression unchanged.

“I’m back now. What do you want to hear?” Xia Chuqing asked.

In the wind, Xiao Mo squinted slightly, looking directly at her. At that mont, in his eyes, she seed like a seventeen or eighteen-year-old girl, with a hint of innocence and childlikeness.

“Didn’t you want to tell face-to-face? Say it again, I’m listening.”

Xiao Mo’s voice was gentle, but all anger from being rejected was gone. Even his eyes were gentle, always infused with tenderness.

This tenderness was like the willow branches in March, lting all of spring’s affection.

Confronted with such a Xiao Mo, even with imnse resentnt, Xia Chuqing couldn’t unleash it. Instead, she felt like a child who had done sothing wrong, her expression tense and uneasy.

“Why aren’t you speaking?”

Xiao Mo watched her, capturing the flicker in her eyes, as composed and steady as always.

In front of him, Xia Chuqing couldn’t hide the unrest in her heart.

He possessed a seasoned acun from doing business, sothing she couldn’t compare to.

Xia Chuqing moved her lips, and finally said, “It’s just… I don’t intend to be your girlfriend.”

“So, you’re rejecting ?”

“…” Xia Chuqing didn’t know how to respond.

“You’re the first to reject ,” Xiao Mo looked at her. “So the rejection is invalid.”

“What kind of logic is that?” Xia Chuqing raised her head, eyes wide.

“Xiao Family logic, any issue with that?”

“…” Unreasonable.

“I’m serious; I’ve thought about it for a long ti,” Xia Chuqing said lightly. “I don’t have any feelings for you.”

“Then tell , what counts as having feelings?”

“Having feelings is like that girlish infatuation, thinking of soone day and night. But with you, I feel none of that.”

“Infatuation, is it?” Xiao Mo gave her a aningful glance.

In the next second, he strode over from beside the car with his long legs.

Before Xia Chuqing could react, he pinned her against the car, turned his head slightly, and a kiss landed on her lips.

Once again, touching her soft lips, his feelings towards her were half deep love, half yearning.

All of the tenderness was poured into this kiss, and he kissed with great intention.

The familiar scent enveloped her, leaving Xia Chuqing completely dumbfounded—she and Xiao Mo…

With his overbearing restraint on her body, she couldn’t struggle, even though there were few people around, it couldn’t be guaranteed there were none.

Xia Chuqing blushed as she used her hands to push Xia Mo away.

But Xiao Mo wouldn’t let her succeed, pinning her down even more firmly.

Eventually, after a long ti, once he was finished kissing, he let her go.

Xia Chuqing raised her hand, about to give him a slap, but he caught her wrist.

“Do you know that’s harassnt?” Xia Chuqing’s face was red, full of anger.

But Xiao Mo placed his hand on her chest, feeling her intense heartbeat, and smirked, “Does it feel like infatuation now?”

However, the gesture itself was more like harassnt, which infuriated Xia Chuqing, making her shove his hand away.

Her heart was pounding intensely, an indescribable peculiarity.
