Unable to help it, Xia Chuqing still laughed.
Actually, she wasn’t that sad inside. At this mont, she realized that during her most vulnerable and embarrassing tis, having soone by her side was a blessing.
She just wished this happiness could last.
"Do you feel secure with around?" Xiao Mo suddenly asked.
"Mmm..." Xia Chuqing admitted.
Won are generally thoughtful and lack a sense of security, but as long as Xiao Mo was by her side, she seed to have nothing to worry about.
"If I’m so good, why don’t you want ?"
"I never said I don’t want you. I just feel like your feelings for aren’t that lasting." She finally said it.
"Are you afraid my feelings aren’t lasting or that ti isn’t enduring?" Xiao Mo raised an eyebrow, showing no sign of unhappiness.
"..." Xia Chuqing pursed her lips. This man really excelled at seriously being shaless.
"I’m not a young boy in my twenties anymore. There’s no such thing as novelty. I’ve thought very clearly about what’s right, wrong, suitable, or unsuitable, balancing rationality and emotion." Xiao Mo spoke sincerely.
Listening to his words, Xia Chuqing still felt everything was unreal.
She didn’t have many qualities nor anything that matched him, so her lack of confidence was mostly in herself.
Xiao Mo didn’t push her, only slightly curling his lips, "As for whether it’s lasting, I allow you to give it a try."
"Shaless!" Xia Chuqing still spoke her mind.
"If shalessness catches you, then I’ll be shaless."
"..."
As they talked, Xiao Mo slowly drove to Xia Chuqing’s grandma’s house.
Unlike rumors, the Xia Family was not extravagant but rather ordinary.
"We’re ho. I’m ho!" Xia Chuqing leaned against the window, eager to jump out.
"Did you call your mom?"
"Not yet, I want to surprise her."
"Hmm, suddenly bringing ho a boyfriend, she should be quite surprised."
Only then did Xia Chuqing rember this issue and, feeling embarrassed, said, "Mr. Xiao, would you like to co in for a cup of tea or..."
"Are you trying to chase away?" Xiao Mo raised an eyebrow. He wasn’t oblivious to what Xia Chuqing ant, as she probably wished he wouldn’t even get out of the car and just drive away.
"No..." Xia Chuqing couldn’t outright say it.
"If not, then why don’t you invite down?"
"Oh... Mr. Xiao, please open the door, let’s get out of the car."
"Don’t call Mr. Xiao. If I ever hear it again, it’ll cost you a hundred bucks."
"Oh... Xiao, Xiao Mo."
"Hmm."
Xiao Mo had no intention of leaving. Xia Chuqing had no choice but to bring him ho with her.
As she got luggage from the trunk, she started thinking about how to introduce Xiao Mo to her family later.
Huahua ca into a new environnt, very excited, constantly barking and running around Xia Chuqing’s feet.
"Be quiet." Xiao Mo shouted at it.
Huahua didn’t listen to Xiao Mo at all. It just wanted to jump and bark because it was happy.
"Let take that." Xiao Mo volunteered to carry the luggage for Xia Chuqing.
"No need, I can manage."
"I don’t want to say it a second ti." With that, Xiao Mo took the suitcase from her hands.
Xia Chuqing had no choice but to follow beside Xiao Mo. As he carried the suitcase toward the door, she walked alongside him.
The gate of the courtyard was closed. Xia Chuqing knew they were probably not awake yet.
It’s rare to have a day of peace in a year; they were likely either sleeping in or busy with breakfast.
Winter had arrived. Looking into the courtyard from the gate, everything appeared very desolate.
The plants in the courtyard seed to have been left unattended for a long ti, growing wildly.
Xia Chuqing knew that ever since the Xia Family’s troubles, her grandparents were very worried, leaving them little energy to tend to the flowers and plants.
There was a scent of plum blossoms in the courtyard, very pleasant, refreshing, and lingering.
Xia Chuqing was wearing the new coat she bought at the mall last ti, a sky-blue one chosen by Xiao Mo, without any extra accessories, simple and clean.
She stood obediently beside Xiao Mo.
Sotis Xiao Mo glanced down at her, thinking they suited each other quite well.
"I’ll call out." Xia Chuqing stood on tiptoe, "Mom, Grandpa, Grandma!"
Xiao Mo smiled, "Does that work?"
"Sotis it does!" Xia Chuqing laughed, "When I was a kid, I often forgot my keys, and I loved standing at my grandma’s door and shouting."
Recollecting the past, Xia Chuqing seed increasingly like a child...
Back then, without cell phones, she loved to shout twice.
Her mood wasn’t affected by the morning’s events, as she loved to imdiately put unpleasant things behind her.
Unexpectedly, with Xia Chuqing’s shout, soone at ho actually heard it.
"Coming! Is it Chuqing back?" A hoarse and deep male voice answered.
Soon, a white-haired elderly man, while putting on his glasses, walked out slowly.
"Grandpa, grandpa, it’s ! I’m back!" Xia Chuqing happily waved to her grandpa.
In the morning sunshine, her little white teeth shone like pearls, making her smile particularly beautiful.
Xiao Mo stood with his hands in his coat pockets, squinting as he observed the place.
"Ah! It’s really Chuqing back. I was just ntioning you to your grandma." The elder ca to open the door, "I said you’d be back soon, and your grandma didn’t believe it."
"Yes, yes, I’m back!"
The elder opened the door, and Xia Chuqing, like a little rabbit, gave him a big hug.
"Grandpa, did you miss ? I haven’t seen you for years. Do you think I’m unfilial?"
"How could I? You’ve been studying abroad. Your mom said you got another scholarship and won so kind of award. I was so happy to hear that. You’re the most accomplished in the family." Grandpa laughed heartily, "Is it cold outside?"
"It’s not cold today; the temperature is quite high," Xia Chuqing replied.
"Is it Chuqing back?"
At this mont, an elderly lady walked out from the house. She looked in good spirits, also wearing reading glasses.
"It’s , it’s , Grandma!" Chuqing waved and smiled happily.
"Chuqing’s back?" Xia Chuqing’s mother also ca out.
The whole family was very happy to see Xia Chuqing, and everyone ca out.
Xia Chuqing’s mom was busy with breakfast. She said with a smile, "You ca back just in ti. I made tangyuan with fernted glutinous rice, your favorite."
"Tangyuan with fernted glutinous rice!" Xia Chuqing exclaid happily, "I haven’t had it in a long ti. Nothing outside tastes as good as what Mom makes!"
"Such a sweet talker!" Her mom was very pleased by Xia Chuqing’s flattery.
"I also brought you gifts. I’ll show you later," Xia Chuqing said.
"No need for gifts; it’s the thought that counts," Grandpa said.
"That’s not okay. I received my salary!"
