Chapter 1530: Chapter 1530: Not Putting Enough Effort Recently at Night

“One shrimp is all it takes to win you over.” Shen Chi glanced at Xu Chaomu with disdain.

Back then, he’d peeled countless shrimp for her, but he’d never seen her express any gratitude.

While eating, Xu Chaomu asked Shen Chi, “Are you heading to the company after lunch? Busy today?”

“There’s a pile of stuff waiting in the office. I need to go take care of it,” Shen Chi replied.

“Oh, then I’ll wait for you to co back for dinner tonight.”

“How about we eat out tonight?”

“No need. If you take out without Xiaobao, that little guy will get upset again.”

“That’s all because you spoil him.”

“Hubby, Erbao’s been saying so many new words recently,” Xu Chaomu said happily to Shen Chi.

“Really? Sleeping in the room now?”

“Yeah, taking a nap.”

“Did he eat anything?”

“He did. I fed him before putting him down for his nap,” Xu Chaomu replied.

“I was the one who taught little brother how to talk! I taught him so much stuff,” Xiaobao chid in from the side.

“What could you possibly teach him? Just don’t lead him astray,” Shen Chi said.

Xiaobao pouted stubbornly, “Dad, if you keep saying that, I really will lead him astray!”

“Brat.”

Xiaobao, being the cheeky little rascal he was, peeled a shrimp, placed it in Shen Chi’s bowl for a mont, and then snatched it away to drop it into Xu Chaomu’s bowl instead.

“Daddy, you’re not getting any.”

“…” Shen Chi’s lips twitched, his face darkening like a thundercloud.

Xu Chaomu couldn’t hold back her laughter. One day, Xiaobao was truly going to drive his dad crazy.

After lunch, Shen Chi headed to the company.

The sumr weather was especially scorching, and sumrs in C City were particularly dry.

Xiaobao ate a few scoops of waterlon after lunch, yawned, and went upstairs to nap.

Xu Chaomu wasn’t sleepy, so she drove over to her studio.

The little villa looked especially charming in the sumr, with red bricks, green tiles, and walls blanketed in blooming vines. The flowerbeds were vibrant with roses, salvia, and baby’s breath, all in full bloom, their greenery and blossoms intertwining.

This street was filled with a bourgeois, chic vibe. There weren’t many pedestrians, but most exuded a sense of fashion and sophistication.

Xu Chaomu entered her office through the back door. She was quite satisfied with her workspace, most of which Shen Chi had personally helped set up for her.

She turned on her computer and worked through a few emails and design drafts.

Sunlight stread through the office window, bright and burning, as lush greenery swayed outside.

Xu Chaomu loved sumr. It allowed her to witness brightness and beauty…

On her desk sat a vase of roses, accompanied by a small note on a stand with Shen Chi’s handwriting: “A lifeti, a union of two.”

Feeling playful, Xu Chaomu picked up a pen and added a few words beneath the note: “Shen Chi, Xu Chaomu,” drawing a little heart in between their nas.

Back in the day, she loved secretly writing his na on windows. After finishing, she’d sneakily add her own na next to his, as if that alone would magically make them a pair.

Her childhood antics seed so childish now. Her thoughts back then were naive, yet they brimd with hope and happiness.

After finishing the little doodle, she gazed out the window and placed the note back beside the vase.

Roses, promises, a lifeti together.

That evening, when Xu Chaomu got ho, she still rembered how Shen Chi had teased her in the morning.

So Xu Chaomu, feeling cheeky, bought so “functional” oral liquid. The shop owner claid it worked wonders—it could make any man go seven rounds in one night with just a sip!

Xu Chaomu asked, “Really?”

The shop owner frowned in displeasure. “Young lady, try it and see! I guarantee you’ll have your fun.”

“Pfft.” Xu Chaomu burst into laughter. She then asked, “What if a man drinks it but doesn’t have a woman around?”

Although Xu Chaomu phrased it delicately, the shop owner got the hint. With a chuckle, she said, “Oh, you’re trying to ss with him, huh? Don’t worry, if he suffers a rough night, he’ll listen to you like a puppy afterward!”

“A rough night?”

“You think it wouldn’t be?”

“Oh…” Xu Chaomu drawled, satisfied, as she paid for the bottle.

Hmph, didn’t he say she was full of energy? Let’s see if he’d dare tease her in public again.

Later that night, after their showers, Shen Chi sat on the bed, browsing his tablet while waiting for Xu Chaomu.

When Xu Chaomu finished her bath, she slid into the bed beside him, holding two bottles of juice. She handed one to Shen Chi and kept the other for herself.

“I don’t want this. You can drink it,” Shen Chi said without looking up, his eyes still glued to the tablet.

“It’s not sour!” Xu Chaomu coaxed. “Yours is sweet orange flavor. Try it—I made it myself.”

Unable to resist her persistent pleading, Shen Chi frowned and reluctantly took the juice.

“Why don’t you like juice? It’s nutritious and way better than your coffee,” Xu Chaomu quipped.

After saying that, she quickly hopped out of bed, pretending to look for clothes in the closet.

She’d done it on purpose—she’d spiked the juice with the oral liquid!

Sure enough, after a few sips, Shen Chi started feeling sothing was off.

The juice was cool and refreshing, but after just a little, his entire body began to warm up, an unsettling restlessness taking over.

anwhile, Xu Chaomu had already bolted with a few clothes in hand, determined to sleep in the guest room tonight! Even if Shen Chi ca knocking, she could refuse to open the door!

“Xu Chaomu!” Shen Chi roared.

Frightened, Xu Chaomu clutched her clothes and bolted!

But before she even reached the door, Shen Chi caught her.

The mont his hand touched her cool, smooth skin, it felt like plunging into a refreshing spring, instantly soothing him.

He imdiately realized—this little woman had spiked his juice!

“What are you running for?”

Shen Chi’s eyes narrowed dangerously as he hoisted her onto the bed, exuding an air of peril.

The clothes Xu Chaomu had grabbed fell to the floor. She chuckled nervously, “I was just going to check if the kids were asleep.”

“What did you put in the juice?” Shen Chi asked, his lips twitching into a smirk as his fingers grazed her lips. “So, you think I haven’t been pulling my weight at night lately, huh?”

“What nonsense are you saying? Of course, I only added orange juice.”

Heat surged through Shen Chi, clouding his head and sending his blood roaring through his veins. He looked at Xu Chaomu like he wanted to swallow her whole!

Fearless little thing!

“If you behave, I might go easy on you later,” Shen Chi warned, his control rapidly slipping.

“No, no! My stomach hurts—it’s not happening tonight,” Xu Chaomu protested.

“So this was just to ss with , huh?”

“Hubby, if you say a few sweet things, maybe my stomach will stop hurting,” Xu Chaomu said, staring at him with innocent big eyes.

“Keep pretending,” Shen Chi scoffed, his big hand pressing on her belly. “Where does it hurt? I’ll rub it for you.”

Nowhere hurt—except maybe her head.

Feeling the fiery intensity in his gaze, Xu Chaomu quickly smacked his hand away. “I said my stomach hurts, so it hurts! If you touch again, I’ll never let it go.”

“Oh, playing tough, are we?” Shen Chi didn’t press her further.

Watching him, Xu Chaomu could tell how hard he was restraining himself. His large palms supported either side of her body, veins bulging in his forearms, and his eyes filled with a desperate, red tint.

“Now coax ! Will you dare flirt with again? Especially in front of the kids!”
