Chapter 45: WAKING UP

The chopper took off, carrying with it all the mbers of the Veritas Corps, dead or alive. Alfred followed.

Max stood behind, his gaze cold and stoic.

Then he vanished.

Three days passed in a blink.

"So you’re telling

I passed out for three days straight," Silas asked Alia with surprise.

Alia nodded. "Yes. Take the tea before it gets cold."

"Oh, thank you," Silas said, taking the tea cup by the handle.

"What?" Silas asked, noticing Alia’s piercing eyes that looked like they wanted to unravel his soul.

"Nothing, I was only wondering if you didn’t miss Lilura that much," Alia shrugged.

Silas almost choked on his tea at Alia’s words.

"Why should I miss her?" He asked, his brows furrowed.

Alia rolled her eyes. "Don’t think I didn’t see both of you at that place. I saw her giving you signs too."

Silas set the tea aside and stood up.

His body was bare, revealing his well-proportioned chest.

He pulled Alia into his arms calmly, his eyes fixed on hers.

"Are you jealous?" He asked.

Alia shook her head. "No."

Silas heard the sarcasm in her words.

"Don’t worry, I already have a girlfriend. I would not want another," Silas said, patting her gently on the head.

Alia nodded gently, resting her head on Silas’s chest.

"Okay, I will co back later," Alia said, running out of the room.

Silas’s eyes trailed after her retreating figure, only turning them back to the tea after the door slamd behind her.

He drank his tea, unbothered about what had happened.

Then, after that, he took his bath, wore his clothes, and sat back down on his bed.

A smile of happiness was plastered on his face.

"I have deduced three theories, and a way to cultivate using void cores," he said to himself, the smile widening further.

This was a huge finding for him.

Although there was a chance that similar things had been discovered before, he was sure the knowledge was enough to take him to tier 3 scientist.

He began to upload everything to Rion.

Within a few minutes, he had done everything.

"Rion, upload the new information," he said ntally.

[Private or Public?]

The screen popped up in his face.

"Private," Silas replied almost instantly.

Rion went silent.

Soon, the screen popped up again, displaying the new tabs.

Silas looked at the list unfolding in front of him, his eyes widening.

"Rion, care to explain what a tier 3 elite researcher is?" Silas asked, his tone dropping in shock.

"The elite status is achieved when a person’s work is extraordinary within the sa grade," Rion explained.

"Well, the theories are truly extraordinary," he said, stroking his chin.

Then he read the rewards that ca with achieving Elite status.

First was the bodyguard. A true monarch tier powerhouse, protecting Silas.

He could not help but close his eyes.

The reason was simple — he had only ever seen three people who were above the mortal realm.

One was the guard in charge of Sovereign Garden’s factory, the other was Max, the governor of the planet.

Then there was Sebastian, whose power far exceeded what he could think of.

"Well, that should be four if I include Han," Silas muttered.

Then, the spaceship.

Silas had only ever seen them in movies. Veritas had none.

They were too poor to afford the most common grade one.

But Silas was given one — unique grade too — as a reward for achieving Elite status in tier 3.

"What about higher tiers? Would they give

an entire sector?" Silas joked.

If only he knew.

Then, the last but not the least. It could be said to be even the most important thing on the entire list.

"A chance to contact Gaia once every month."

His breath hitched as he tried to feel the weight of that.

"Gaia, the sa goddess of knowledge in the human empire," he asked Rion again in confirmation.

"Yes, Master Silas," Rion replied with an expressionless tone.

"Why would I ever be angry at Han?" Silas asked himself. "He helped

create sothing this marvelous."

His excitent cald after a brief mont and he focused on the present again.

"So, how do I contact her?" He asked Rion.

"Through . You only need to tell

to connect to her and I would."

Silas coughed.

"Okay, I have more things to do now. I will do that later."

He stood up from the bed and walked outside.

"I am famished. I just hope they cooked enough food today," he said as he ran downstairs.

The dining table was empty.

Only the chefs walked around with orderliness, arranging things.

"What happened? Why is no one here?" Silas asked one of the chefs.

The chef bowed, then spoke. "They finished a while ago."

"Oh," Silas exclaid. He had thought sothing had happened so no one had had ti to even eat.

"Serve ," Silas said as he fell into one of the chairs.

The chef nodded and walked back, delivering Silas’s words to the rest.

They moved again, one drawing plates, spoons, and other utensils with the finesse of a seasoned chef.

Another collected the plates, shifting them masterfully towards the person serving.

Silas only had to wait a short while before the table was filled with food.

The aroma wafted into his nose, making his mouth water before he even started.

He took a spoon and dug into the first bowl. He brought the spoon to his mouth, chewing slowly to savor the taste.

I wonder where Governor Max got these chefs. I would steal one before I leave for the academy, Silas could not help but fantasize.

The chefs cooked so well that the thought of leaving their food made Silas uneasy.
