When the carriage ca to a halt in front of the Yang Household, Yang Luoyang stord out of the carriage and briskly strode inside the household. His expressions were dark, and his face was crimson with anger. Before entering, he didn't forget to point at Xing Bao, Chang Ah's personal maid, and ordered, "Drag that woman from the carriage and throw her into the backyard chamber.

Do not let her go near the main chamber," he said, gritting his teeth.

Because of that foolish woman, he not only lost face in front of ladies from prestigious families but also had to apologize to Zheng Liang. He was determined not to let her live in peace!

Xing Bao was perplexed to see Yang Luoyang in such a gloomy mood. He had left for the palace in the morning in good spirits, with Chang Ah accompanying him. Wasn't Chang Ah planning to ruin Yang Ning's tea party and make a joke of her in the social circle? Why did Yang Luoyang look so angry about it? Xing Bao wondered.

Questions raced through her mind. Why did he seem as if sothing happened at the palace? And where was Chang Ah? Did her plan to humiliate Yang Ning succeed or not? Xing Bao couldn't help but contemplate.

With countless questions swirling in her head, Xing Bao walked to the carriage, with two other servants following her to carry out Yang Luoyang's orders. However, as soon as she caught a glimpse of the person inside, she couldn't help but let out a surprised gasp.

"Madam, what... What happened to you? How co you're in this condition?" Xing Bao covered her mouth in disbelief. Chang Ah's hair was in a ss, her clothes were dirty and torn in places, her face bore crimson hand imprints, and the corners of her mouth were bleeding.

Who had beaten her to the point of leaving her half-unconscious?

Chang Ah, her body too weak to talk after enduring beatings in front of everyone, weakly glanced at Xing Bao and sobbed as tears flowed down her eyes, "My whole body hurts. I feel like I'm going to die," she cried, trying to minimize movents as each one caused more pain.

Physically hurt as she was, the emotional and ntal toll seed even more profound. The man she had loved her entire life, for whom she had done all kinds of unsavory tasks, had now abandoned her abruptly.

No, she couldn't let him do that. She was still his wife, the mother of the heir to the Yang Household. She resolved to change his decision at any cost.

Observing Chang Ah's condition, Xing Bao bit her lower lip, feeling a pang of sympathy. Given Yang Luoyang's earlier anger, she could tell he was likely responsible for Chang Ah's state.

However, what had transpired at the palace to lead Yang Luoyang to beat Chang Ah like this? In the past, he had disciplined Yang Ning but had never raised a hand against Chang Ah. What has changed?

"Madam, let take you inside first. Be careful," Xing Bao said, helping the servants move Chang Ah to the backyard chamber of the household.

With the assistance of the servants, Xing Bao carefully brought Chang Ah down from the carriage and supported her to the backyard chamber of the household. "Madam, please step inside and rest for a while. I will call a physician to treat your injuries," Xing Bao said, guiding Chang Ah with the help of the other maids.

Frowning, Chang Ah, supported by the maids, questioned, "Why are we here? It's not my chamber," her voice quivering.

Xing Bao hesitated before responding, "Lord has ordered to take you to the backyard chamber."

Gritting her teeth and clenching her fists, Chang Ah swallowed down her anger and entered the chamber she loathed. Although it was the room where Yang Ning used to live, she had no choice but to stay there until Yang Luoyang's anger subsided.

As the maids helped Chang Ah change into clean clothes, wiped her face and hands, and applied cold compresses to her wounds, Xing Bao returned with a tray of food. Sitting on the hard bed while a maid tended to her swollen face, Chang Ah frowned and weakly asked, "Why did you co so late? And where is the physician?" Glancing behind Xing Bao, she noticed no one following her.

Xing Bao pursed her lips and said hesitantly, "Lord has rejected the request to call for a physician. However, I brought this ointnt for you to treat your wounds. After you have sothing to eat, I will apply this ointnt and give you a tonic. I have used this ointnt before, and I assure you that it will alleviate your pain soon. I'm confident you'll feel better after using them."

Chang Ah gritted her teeth, anger seething in her eyes. She couldn't believe that not only had he left her in this undesirable chamber, but he also denied her the opportunity to call for a physician. The thought of potential scars on her face filled her with dread, and she couldn't fathom how he could be so heartless.

Chang Ah gritted her teeth, rembering the heartless beating that Yang Luoyang had subjected her to in front of Yang Ning and the other ladies. The pity and mockery in their eyes fueled her hatred.

Recalling the humiliation and embarrassnt, she glared at Xing Bao and shouted, "How dare you? Am I a lowly servant like you that I will use your dicine and tonic to treat my injuries?" She released her frustration on Xing Bao since she couldn't direct it at Yang Luoyang.

"Just because we used to be close and I brought you into this household with , do you think you and I are equal? Don't forget, I am the Mistress of this household, and you're just a lowly servant, a dirty, disgusting piece of shit."

"Chang Ah! How can you say-" Xing Bao was left speechless and shouted her na in disbelief as her friend humiliated her for no reason.

*SLAP*

Chang Ah stood up from the bed and slapped Xing Bao on the face before she could complete her words. Her expression darkened when Xing Bao dared to raise her voice and use her na. Enraged, she shouted, "What did you just call ? You bitch!"

In a fit of anger, Chang Ah flipped over the food tray, scalding Xing Bao's chest and hands with the hot soup.

In pain, Xing Bao tried to rush for water to ease the burn, but Chang Ah grabbed her wrists. Despite being weak and injured, Chang Ah felt a strong, hateful urge to teach this lowly servant a lesson. Fueled by the belief that everyone was disrespecting her because her husband was angry, Chang Ah unleashed her frustration on Xing Bao.

"Where are you going? Huh? What did you call earlier? Xing Bao, just because I am in this condition, don't think about coveting my position," Chang Ah warned with paranoia in her eyes.

"Do you think I don't know how desperately you try to get my husband's attention, gain his favor, and steal my position? Do you think I don't know how jealous you are of ? I know you must be regretting why I married Yang Luoyang and not you. But what to do? He will never like an ugly duckling like you."

"Because, no matter how much you try to dress and act like , you will always remain a cheap, disgusting, fat, and ugly woman and can never beco a beautiful woman like . Even if you stand naked in front of him, he will never touch-"
