On the battlefield, imperial cavalry reinforcents and archers, numbering around three thousand, advanced toward the battlefield.

Absab repelled the powerful arrows fired from a distance with his halberd. Feeling the pressure, he dismounted from his horse, and the horse retreated.

Each step Absab took cracked the ground. It was clear that he planned to fight and finish off the enemies who were attacking him from a distance.

"Prince, focus on the enemies nearby. I’ll cover you," said Abted.

Bang!

A spear collided with Absad’s halberd. In front of him was an imperial sub-commander wearing silver armor.

"You won’t get past here, filthy prince," said the imperial sub-commander, whose level was the sa as the prince’s, but who relied on the reinforcent power provided by a support mage behind him.

Absad did not hesitate and faced his enemy.

Despite being reinforced with magic, the imperial commander was only retreating while blocking each attack. At that mont, an imperial soldier with tousled hair and bright eyes appeared, holding a sinister sword that emitted a demonic aura.

Cut!

Bang!

Cut!

Blood!

From the shadows of the nearby soldiers erged demons dressed in dark clothes that covered even their faces.

The sword of one of the demons blocked the sinister sword of the "Inquisitor" who was planning to attack Absab by surprise.

The other demon had severed the "Inquisitor’s" arms, who watched as the wounds on his arms turned green due to a lethal poison.

The imperial deputy commander thought about retreating, but he had let his guard down so much that a poison dart struck his neck, causing painful sores and blisters. Even so, he didn’t have to wait too long.

Absab did not understand what was happening, but he knew one thing: he was in the middle of a war and could not forgive the enemy.

Both the Inquisitor and the imperial sub-commander were beheaded by Absab’s halberd, who continued to command the troops in the middle of the battlefield.

...

"Order the retreat," Commander Davis Roberson said after seeing the demons that appeared on the battlefield.

Since Commander Davis knew that the Presial Kingdom had been frad, he considered the appearance of demons on the battlefield to be a very unexpected event and a dangerous variable.

After Deputy Commander Edgardo left to relay his orders, he went to his military tent to report to the imperial council what had happened in the middle of the battlefield.

...

When the battles ended, the troops returned to their respective camps and only so of the wounded were helped, while others were left to die at the rcy of the elents.

Before the military council of the Presial kingdom t, the commander and duke Eljam had placed his staff next to his desk and used a magical device to communicate.

"Imperialist lords, now that the presence of demons has been detected on the battlefield, I can unite the nobles to overthrow the royal family. We can negotiate if the overthrow is successful."

"We want the king and his children alive. If you manage to capture them, the war will co to an end, and you will be declared Duke of the Empire."

Eljam smiled maliciously when he heard the response given to him through the magical communication device.

He was about to communicate with his allies when a blade pierced his neck, causing him to vomit blood.

"I’m sorry, but this war will bring us great profits," the sinister, deep voice sent shivers down Eljam’s spine.

Eljam barely managed to see a dark, slender silhouette before dying from the poison that contaminated his body through the wound caused by the demonic blade.

The demon, covered in black clothing, disappeared into the shadows and reappeared in front of a simple table in Prince Absab’s military tent.

...

On the other hand, after the imperial council was inford of the appearance of demons in the midst of the war, they had no choice but to inform the emperor, who was already aware of the situation.

Emperor Richard Venrac always sent paladins to monitor conflicts or wars in order to keep abreast of developnts and their possible impact.

The emperor inford the imperial council at an extraordinary eting that five imperial paladins, each with 2,000 soldiers, had been sent to support Commander Davis Roberson.

...

In his study, the emperor held a crystal glass from which he drank an exquisite fragrant liqueur.

"I feel that sothing serious is happening. Inquisiderian provoked the demons; these have been their lands for longer. Underestimating them may be a mistake, but letting them grow strong again also seems dangerous."

After these thoughts, Richard looked at a map on his desk on which the territory of the demonic marquisate was clearly marked.

The map had been left by the minister of state, Gerard Retriev, who had said to the emperor a few minutes earlier:

"Your Majesty, that demonic marquisate has always been strong, but now they have found a pillar. If we let them grow, perhaps not even the hero will be able to do anything."

Hearing this from his own minister of state set off alarm bells in his intuition. He had indirectly allowed so wars, but he never participated in them because he believed in stability more than excessive conquest.

The emperor placed the empty glass on his desk and muttered:

"Let’s see how the war against the Presial kingdom turns out. Then I will make a decision."

At that mont, a beautiful woman entered the study. It was Empress Regina Stevenson, who said to the emperor:

"Our daughter went to find the hero. She wants to join his team and gain experience in the Great Mountain Range."

The emperor nodded and sighed. His wife massaged his shoulder as she said:

"Don’t worry, a paladin was sent to protect her. You know she has great talent. We couldn’t hold her back any longer."

"You’re right. Children grow up faster than we think," murmured the emperor.

Amid the silence, the emperor looked back at the map on his desk.
