~AMBROSE’S POV~
I couldn’t believe what Onyx just said. It was complete insanity.
But it made sense. Seeing her radiate such imnse power out of nothing but was inside her. She was a goddess.
Not just any goddess, but our goddess. The goddess shifters worshipped.
She was Artemis’ daughter. She was a piece of Artemis herself.
Our mate.
Fuck there was no way to compete with that.
Now I bet you really regret all the awful things you did to her against my advice. You literally spanked a goddess.
Fuck you Onyx, you were all in at first.
Yeah, but you took it too far.
I rolled my eyes at him. I did go too far. But not like we knew. Does she know? If she did, why would she keep it a secret?
Did her parent’s they know? Or did they hide it from her? From the world! That they were hosting the creator of shifters. And didn’t think we had a right to know.
I felt a whole new level of pissed off.
When I saw she was settling down, the blast from Artemasia’s potion, her aura had been reigned in I called out to her. "Odette?"
She turned to face her eyes puffy and the whites of them almost as red as her eye color.
"I’m sorry." She whispered low.
"No, I’m sorry, I should have kicked her out and had her arrested for entering my chambers without my permission. I promise you, you can ask Damon, it’s not what it looks like."
I would never do my father did and even co close to straying from my mate.
"I don’t want to talk about it right now." She was speaking too quietly.
"Do you want to talk about what the fuck that was?" my voice was a little sharper.
"Not yet. No. But maybe later. It’s a lot." She turned her head away and looked at the window.
"I won’t wait around for too long, I need answers. Not just as your mate, but as the king who witnessed sothing quite unusual and experienced sothing even more strange.
Pamper her. Worship her. She is my goddess, my creator. My Mate.
I don’t think she wants that.
My mories are coming back. Of her. Omara. She was my first and only love. But she didn’t feel the sa, she fell in love with a vampire. And this was before we had the mate bond gifted to us by Artemis. I think this ti; she wanted to get it right. The MoonChild was always ant for and I for her. Let out, let be with her.
No, now is not the ti. She’s pissed and probably one snap away from directing her wrath at us. I’ll let you have your ti soon.
Fine. But I’m not happy. Onyx snubbed .
But she hasn’t told us anything yet, so I’m not going to let him ruin that. And rush her before she’s ready. Odette is patient when she thinks.
"MATE?!" Raven yelled. "You’re fucking kidding !"
Shit, I didn’t an for that to get out yet.
"She’s your mate, what kind of witchcraft is this? Black Magic." She yelled turning to Artemasia sharply, "It’s magic isn’t it. Tell , does she have Ambrose under so kind of spell?"
"No. She speaks true. They are destined, not just in this life, but every life. She was made for a purpose, and he was made to protect her." Artemasia sounded a little colder than she probably needed but I could tell she wanted to make it abundantly clear.
"Raven. Listen." I tried.
"No... No... This can’t be true." Raven grabbed a fist full of her, her eyes wide with panic and confusion, she was backing away.
Odette stood up and walked over to her.
SLAP!
She slapped Raven hard across the face. The clap of their skin connecting echoed. Raven stopped shaking and touched her cheek and looked at Odette in shock.
"He’s my mate. My protector. My person. Not yours. Not hers." She scread in Raven’s face pointing at Isabella "You better start respecting , or you will regret it. I am not just so girl you think you can bully. I am more powerful than you can imagine."
I felt it instantly. Her release her aura again. almost strong enough to force to my knees. But definitely strong enough to force Raven to hers.
"I will not warn you again, cross . And you’ll et the sa fate as hers, except, a witch might not be around to save you, like she was Isabella." Odette spoke with the command of a queen.
No not a queen, a goddess.
"You can’t just expect to accept this, just like that." Raven groaned, trying to keep herself steady under the pressure of Odette’s oppressive aura.
"You don’t have a choice. I have killed before; I can do it again. Don’t think for a single second, I’m the sa girl you fought back in school. You’ll be sorely mistaken."
Raven bit down harder. Fighting back the urge to argue.
Odette released her aura making it so the whole room was able to breathe again.
"Thank you, Artemasia. She’s not worth the blood on my hands." She looked to Emalea and said "Let’s go."
Phera took one look at . Blinking, and then trotted after Odette and Emalea.
Damon walked in and helped Raven off the floor.
"Why didn’t anyone tell ?" Raven stamred over her words.
"I was planning to announce it at the gala next month. Her display of power will be enough to force the whole room to submit to her. Even , and the display of strength will make the claim go unchallenged." I told Raven, "There’s more to her than what you think you know. And when she’s ready to tell us, she will."
"I don’t like this Alpha Ambrose. It doesn’t seem right. She’s a vampire and you’re a shifter. And her family and people killed my whole pack and your parents. Could the goddess really be this cruel?" Raven confessed with all sadness of a broken child.
It was funny actually, "The goddess is as cruel as she is generous."
It was cruel Artemis made my enemies daughter my mate, but she also made a goddess in flesh my mate and gave a power wolf to protect her.
"I don’t think there’s anything generous about this..." Raven huffed.
"Ah, but see that’s because you’re blinded by petty jealousy, you can’t see how having a powerful woman as Luna could change everything."
"What about an heir? Would we have such a monstrosity be born? What would it even be? Would it have a wolf? Or so other animal?" Raven raised a valid point.
"Whatever it cos out to be, it will be powerful beyond asure. All the strength of two of so of the most powerful beings in the world." I was confident that would be the case, of like Onyx said, making it right this ti.
We were destined for one another.
