Chapter 872: Chapter 557: A Token Exclusively for You

As the banquet was nearing its end.

Chen Lun and Floey walked out of the great gate.

Inside, the lodious music played by Alec on his waist harp and his unique singing voice could be heard, of course, accompanied by the strange mooing of Antonio the cow.

Moo! Moo moo!

“Antonio! Stop ssing around! I’ve warned you!”

The music abruptly stopped, followed by Alec’s furious roar. Antonio retorted defiantly, saying that arrogant humans simply didn’t understand cow art.

Everyone burst into laughter.

Chen Lun and Floey stopped at the outside of the gate, turned back as they heard the laughter.

In the joyful atmosphere, Noah sat alone, quietly painting. It seed this had beco a routine, and perhaps he would do the sa at every New Year’s gathering in the future.

In the midst of it, Maggie was enthusiastically discussing the future, saying that once Jack beca an angel, they could form a new church, and perhaps in decades to co, on New Year’s Eve, countless believers would pray at ho, singing the hymns written by Alec, and using Jack’s favorite milk and rice as Holy Communion…

Maggie’s proposal was acknowledged by everyone, who eagerly provided their suggestions, supplenting and perfecting this distant yet not unreal dream.

“That would be wonderful,”

Floey sighed.

She turned her head, with eyes sparkling and smile radiant, and gently asked the man beside her:

“Do you think that day will co?”

“Do you believe in Maggie’s crazy words?”

Chen Lun chuckled in response.

Floey, however, answered earnestly:

“I believe.”

After speaking, she softly added:

“If you beco the master that people believe in, then I will be the nun guarding this faith, serving silently beside you forever…”

Chen Lun’s heart trembled slightly.

He had heard Floey express her love and loyalty to him many tis, but each ti deeply moved him.

“Walk with ,”

Chen Lun lifted his arm, smiling gently.

Floey’s smile blossod as she took a step forward, wrapping his arm, lightly resting her soft warmth against it.

The two of them slowly walked into the snowy night.

The gentleman in a deep black, crisp suit, with the nun beside him in a black dress, walked together, perfectly matching the silver-clad surroundings, displaying elegance.

No matter how the snowflakes flew, they would halt around the two, unable to approach, as if an invisible force field surrounded them.

A cold wind brushed past, tousling Floey’s pale golden hair.

Chen Lun reached out his hand, gently sweeping her forehead, tucking the strands behind her translucent ear.

His fingertips touched her earlobe, feeling a slight coolness.

At the sa ti, just as he transmitted knowledge to Noah, Chen Lun now imparted the mythological knowledge of the Black Sun Pathway Sequence Four [Undead] into Floey’s mind.

“This is…?”

Floey looked surprised, her pale violet eyes wide.

“Knowledge of the Black Sun Pathway Saint,”

Chen Lun whispered.

“It is very similar to the Moon Pathway, but at higher levels, they diverge greatly… I have pondered deeply on the Moon Goddess’s warning to you, deciding to give it to you in advance. Perhaps in the future, you might consider taking this path.”

Floey did not imdiately respond.

She simply smiled brighter, her eyes narrowing.

“Is this my New Year’s gift?”

Chen Lun was taken aback, then shook his head with a smile.

“It’s not.”

As he spoke, he raised his hand, holding an ivory white Ouroboros ring with erald green serpentine eyes, looking extrely exquisite.

“This is…”

“It looks like a team token, didn’t you prepare many of these, specially for the beautiful girls; I saw you give similar accessories to quite a few girls… Rebecca? Rey? Trill? Including so young and beautiful undead foreigners?”

Floey puffed out white breath, speaking softly.

“Hmm, perhaps there are so girls I don’t know about.”

Chen Lun watched her intently, as she accurately listed those nas like reporting dishes, feeling both amused and helpless.

He took the nun’s left hand, slowly speaking:

“Floey, it is different from a team token, it is uniquely yours… Co, let take you to see it.”

As he spoke, the ivory-colored serpent ring released illusory vines, forming an ancient book.

A sudden burst of white light, the snowy scene transford.

Floey suddenly found herself in a lush green adow, the breeze gently caressing her, remarkably warm. The sky shed brilliant light, brightening the surroundings.

Ahead was a lake, and on the opposite shore stood a graceful rmaid statue. Beyond the forest, she could faintly see a wooden cabin and bustling figures.

“Eh? This place… I rember you once took us here, by that cabin clearing, where we trained,”

Floey said in surprise.

“Yes, this is my ‘secret base,’ where those undead foreigners often visit as my guests, adding vitality here while providing anchor points to support my sanity.”

Chen Lun explained calmly.

Floey’s violet eyes revealed more astonishnt, but soon this turned to tenderness, as she softly spoke:

“Why would you tell this secret?”

“Because this world is my New Year’s gift to you.”

Chen Lun smiled, turning, seeing Floey looking dazed.

He pulled Floey’s hand forward, firmly yet gently slipping the ivory white Ouroboros ring onto her ring finger.

“I give you authority, second only to mine. From now on, you can enter here anyti through it, managing all the portals in the Immortal Realm…”

“Lord Jack, you can’t do this,”

Floey’s eyes flashed with concern, hesitating to speak.

“Shh.”

Chen Lun signaled with his finger.

He gazed calmly at Floey and said in a deep voice:

“I’ve previously announced to others that you are my fiancée. Since we are engaged, how can we not have a token?”

Floey instantly understood the significance of the Serpent Ring.

A deep blush appeared on her cheeks, and she couldn’t help but clench her small hands. The Serpent Ring on her ring finger shimred in the light, emanating a translucent jade-like beauty.

It seed to be endowed with a holy mission.

Just like Floey’s heart, at this mont, it was filled with supre expectation.

Floey gazed lovingly at the Serpent Ring, feeling joyful. Then, as if recalling sothing, her eyes showed a hint of regret as she bit her lip and said:

“But I haven’t prepared anything for you…”

Before she finished speaking, she felt a tightness around her waist.

Her whole body was drawn into a warm embrace.

Surprised, she looked up and t a pair of deep black eyes filled with laughter. She heard him say:

“I think the beautiful lady can use her kiss as a token.”

Floey’s heart was as radiant as this splendid scenery.

The only difference was that it was even more luminous.

She involuntarily lifted her head and offered her lips.

As a gentle breeze blew past, Floey’s faintly fragrant golden-blond hair brushed against Chen Lun’s face. He suddenly felt sothing and noticed a black vine had appeared around his finger.

Reluctantly separating, Floey, with a flushed face, said:

“This is from Floey, a token that is cheap but loyal.”

She then lifted her purple eyes and smiled brightly.

“Happy New Year, Mr. Jack, Lord Jack… my beloved.”

The next day, at dawn.

The first day of year 4421 of the Solar Calendar.

Bright sunlight shone upon Cold Leaf City.

The Generous Church District, nestled in the snow, was tranquil, with only so unknown small birds perched on high branches, chirping crisply.

Creaaak.

Floey’s room door gently opened.

Chen Lun adjusted his black top hat and stepped out.

He glanced back at the girl lying on the bed with her eyes closed, her golden-blond hair casually spread on the down pillow, her beautiful face bearing a faint smile, as if dreaming a lovely dream.

Chen Lun pulled down the brim of his hat and quietly closed the door.

Last night’s confession in the Immortal Realm and that dazzling smile left a deep imprint in his heart.

So much so that upon returning from the Immortal Realm, when Floey, with a blushing face, invited him to stay the night, Chen Lun tenderly agreed.

Of course, he did nothing inappropriate; not because he didn’t want to, but because he didn’t dare… Chen Lun feared contaminating Floey, as, to mortals, he was a terrifying source of radiation.

Last night, he only carefully held her while they slept.

Even so, it was quite tornting for Chen Lun.

Though Floey usually appeared cool and aloof, her body was extraordinarily warm, making those close to her prone to imagination.

Moreover, Floey’s figure was nearly perfect, and she occasionally snuggled in his arms like a kitten. The soft touch and shy murmurs nearly made Chen Lun lose control.

If not for his exceptional willpower, both the girl and the Generous Church might have been simultaneously destroyed by the trampling of a pale giant dragon.

Taking a deep breath, Chen Lun descended the stairs.

As soon as he entered the hall, he sensed sothing and turned to see a short-haired man in grey standing quietly outside the window, tapping lightly.

Knock knock…

Chen Lun raised his eyebrows and quickly took a few steps forward to open the door.

“Speaker Azjiluo?”

“Good morning, Jack.”

The Speaker stood at the doorway with a smile, hands behind his back, and said:

“I hope I didn’t disturb you.”

“Of course not, please co in.”

Chen Lun doffed his hat and courteously invited him inside.

The Speaker nodded gently and stepped into the apartnt hall.

Once both were seated on the sofa, Azjiluo directly stated his purpose:

“Our king’s banquet is about to begin.”

The concise words imdiately put Chen Lun on alert.

He wasn’t surprised the Speaker knew about this, as Azjiluo was a follower of the King of Slaughter and a Sequence Three demigod. Inviting him to participate was natural.

Chen Lun’s eyes narrowed as he asked in a deep voice:

“Is Dolomi Purness about to be born?”

“Yes…”

The Speaker nodded solemnly.

He then produced two empty wine glasses and placed them on the coffee table. Taking out an ornate, artful square glass bottle, he uncorked the silver spider-engraved stopper and poured out crimson, blood-like wine.

Gurgle…

The wine filled the empty glasses with a sound echoing in the quiet hall.

Soon, the Speaker re-corked the bottle and gently pushed one of the glasses toward Chen Lun, softly saying:

“Our King awaits you at the ‘Enchanted Vineyard’ in the Divine Kingdom. Go now.”
