Chapter 628: Chapter 420: Main Quest Version 2.0 – Part 3 Chapter 628: Chapter 420: Main Quest Version 2.0 – Part 3 The Prince commanded.
Nine Judgnt Chiefs nodded to show they understood.
At that mont, one of the middle-aged n dressed in a military uniform and adorned with dals on his chest stood up and spoke to Chen Lun and the other mbers of the Imperial Judgent Group present:
“You few, co with .”
Chen Lun had previously learned the identity of this middle-aged man through the Steward’s introduction; he was McCollin, the Judgnt Chief, his direct superior officer within the Imperial Judgent Group.
An old, powerful high-ranking official.
“Yes, Chief McCollin.”
Chen Lun bowed slightly, following McCollin along with seven other n and won, into one of the eting room’s secret chambers.
Apart from them, the other Judgnt Chiefs did the sa, summoning the mbers participating in this mission, each entering a secret room to begin planning and deploynt.
Inside the secret chamber.
McCollin expertly pressed the light switch on the wall, and the chandelier above instantly lit up, illuminating the round table and the circle of chairs beneath it.
“Take a seat.”
He said softly, taking the main seat for himself.
Once everyone was seated, McCollin took out a thick bundle of case files and placed it on the table, tapping it with his finger.
“The investigation files from the last period are right here, you don’t need to go to the trouble of applying for them… Actually, there’s not much of value because the people from the Seven Gods Church had only made it to the third layer of the Spirit World. The conclusions drawn were consistent, though, that the source of the pollution lies in the deeper ‘Dark World.'”
McCollin’s expression was very calm, his authoritative gaze sweeping over everyone.
“So your next mission target is clear, to pass through the Spirit World and reach the ‘Dark World’ at the very depths, to seek the truth behind the pollution.”
He extended one finger.
“I have only one requirent for you, that is to try to co back alive. Can you do that?”
Judgnt Chief McCollin showed a hint of a smile.
Everyone suddenly felt a sense of being cared for and couldn’t help but feel a touch of warmth.
“We will strive to complete the mission and co back alive, Chief.”
A female mber nodded solemnly.
“Hmm.”
McCollin nodded.
He then continued:
“This operation is divided into nine teams; we are Team One. As the Judgnt Chief, I have other important matters to attend to and will not personally participate in the investigation… You are all elite mbers of the Mid Sequence Transcendents. I believe you can do well.”
McCollin looked towards Chen Lun.
“The captain of this mission will be Jack. You must follow his commands throughout and not act on your own initiative.”
Chen Lun was a bit surprised but still nodded in agreent.
“Yes, Judgnt Chief McCollin.”
Upon hearing the Judge Chief’s appointnt, a few mbers frowned slightly.
With Jack, a newcor to the Judiciary, taking on the role of team leader directly, these more established mbers felt sowhat discontent.
“Chief, but…”
One of the male mbers began to speak.
McCollin cut him off with a serious face.
“This is an order, not open to negotiation… As the elite chosen by the Empire, you must be very clear that strength is paramount in the Mystic Realm. Jack’s power is no longer comparable to that of a common Sequence Five; the Dark World is full of dangers, and his leading the team is a matter of being responsible for you.”
Several discontented mbers took a deep breath and eventually responded in a grave tone.
“We understand, Chief.”
They glanced again at their future captain Jack and found that he had just responded with a polite smile.
“Alright, eting adjourned.”
McCollin stood up.
“You have today and tomorrow to prepare at the Judiciary’s base. Departure is at ten in the morning the day after.”
“Yes! Chief!”
