Chapter 434: Chapter 297: The Sudden Second Opportunity

“Golden Cup?”

Chen Lun took the golden cup from the tray of the faceless servant.

He examined the cup for a mont and discovered that it was made of pure gold, which was quite valuable, but the symbolic significance attached to it was even more precious because it served as proof of mbership for senior mbers of the Murder Club.

Moreover, like an ordinary token cup, it had the function of summoning ssengers.

“Thank you.”

Chen Lun held the Golden Cup and chuckled softly.

...

“Mr. Qiaoke, mbers of the Golden Cup have enormous privileges, second only to the ‘Round Table Knights.’ Not only can you accept any commission from the ‘commission nu,’ but you also have one free rescue opportunity each month. Just by knocking on the Golden Cup three tis, you can call upon the mbers of the Murder Club to co to your aid,” the faceless servant patiently explained.

“Furthermore, the ‘Fine Wine Redemption Center’ within the club will also offer you higher buyback prices from now on, nearly the sa as the market price… Lastly, you now have the privilege to send letters to the Round Table Knights, where your willpower shall be seen by the distinguished knights.”

“Alright, I understand.”

Chen Lun put away the Golden Cup and then took out four Gold Pounds and placed them on the tray.

“It’s an occasion worth celebrating, so the tip is doubled.”

“Mr. Qiaoke, thank you for your generosity.”

The faceless servant bowed deeply.

After they left,

Chen Lun continued to ponder while sitting on the sofa in the study.

‘Round Table Knights? In my past life, I only heard of them; they must be comparable to the absolute high ranks within the Righteous God Church, all august beings… It seems my recent high-profile actions have caught quite a few people’s attention.’

He smiled.

‘But becoming a Golden Cup mber directly is sowhat unexpected… Anyway, it’s a good thing, it’s like having an additional card to play.’

Two days later.

Miss Tracey personally paid a visit.

“Viscount Tracey, please follow .”

Floey said quietly, then turned and headed toward the main estate.

Tracey declined the company of her two bodyguards, quietly instructed the coachman, and then quickly followed Floey. The two of them walked slowly along the vineyard’s path, one after the other.

“Cough, Miss Floey, you can just call Trill… Jack calls that too,” Tracey said laughing lightly.

“Hmm…”

Floey rely responded faintly.

Tracey felt a bit awkward, sensing that the girl was perhaps not easy to get along with.

She stealthily took a few glances at the silhouette of the blind girl in the black dress and was secretly amazed at the other’s presence and beauty, surpassing that of countless other won she had seen.

“Miss Floey, I hear you are Mr. Jack’s sister?” Tracey asked in a friendly tone.

“No.”

Floey’s response was very concise.

“Then what is your relationship with Mr. Jack?” Tracey was a little surprised and puzzled.

Floey stopped at the entrance of the main estate, turned slightly with a smile on her face:

“What do you think?”

She raised the hands placed on her abdon, gesturing towards The Great Gate.

“We’ve arrived, please co in, Viscount Tracey.”

“Uh… thank you.”

Tracey responded with a smile and walked into the estate, still murmuring to herself whether she had sohow offended the young lady.

Chen Lun was still reading in the study, having searched through all the books left in the vineyard, yet he did not find any Mystic Book, leading to so disappointnt.

After receiving the notification, he finally ca downstairs.

When he saw Miss Tracey sitting on the sofa with Floey standing by, a faint smile on her face, Chen Lun had a bad feeling.

“Miss Trill, welco to Jack’s Vineyard.”

He chuckled nervously and ca forward to greet her.

“Mr. Jack,”

Tracey imdiately stood up, walked forward with enthusiasm, and prepared to hug and cheek kiss Chen Lun.

But Chen Lun, with Quick Reflexes, steadied her shoulders and guided her back to the sofa to sit down, while he took a seat on the opposite sofa.

“Floey, why are you standing? Co and sit.”

He turned his head towards Floey and smiled.

Floey humd in acknowledgent but didn’t imdiately go over. Instead, she turned to the kitchen, brewed three cups of tea, and brought them over.

“Thank you.”

Tracey thanked her.

Her glance roved between Floey and Chen Lun a couple of tis, harboring so guesses in her heart. The joy she had felt upon arrival now seed to fade a little.

After placing the teacups down, Floey elegantly took a seat next to Chen Lun, folding her hands gently on her lap, calm as if she were a delicate doll.

Tracey withdrew her gaze, inhaled deeply, and mustered a smile:

“Mr. Jack, my visit today is because there’s news from the Academy District… that student nad ‘Francis’ has been found.”

Chen Lun was a bit surprised.

He hadn’t expected his progress to co so quickly.

“Thank you, Trill.”

Chen Lun expressed his gratitude and also felt fortunate for enlisting Tracey’s help.

With just Golov and the other two, they were sowhat understaffed and couldn’t cover everything.

After so discussion, he obtained so intelligence from Tracey.

It turned out that Francis’s appearance was sowhat accidental, as this student wasn’t a local from Peacock City but had recently transferred from another town to study at Omutuo Academy.

According to Tracey, Francis seed to be a distant relative of one of the academy’s board mbers and had been admitted to the academy for further study at great expense.

‘No wonder I couldn’t find this person before; it turns out he’s a transfer student from out of town… I’ve co a bit early.’

Chen Lun suddenly realized.

‘However, this is also good, as I can keep an eye on him firsthand. If I discover the trace of the second opportunity, I will be able to seize it in ti.’

That afternoon.

Chen Lun set off for the academy district.

He was ready to personally observe Francis and see what was so special about him. Those who bore the chance often had outstanding qualities.

Perhaps, there were already signs now, and he could also find the whereabouts of the second opportunity through subtle clues.

Chen Lun stuck to his usual gentlemanly attire, the eternal black hat and silver staff, and arrived at the academy district by hired carriage, disembarking at the entrance of Omutuo Academy.

After paying over eighty Copper Kros in fare, he looked around.

The entrance to Omutuo Academy featured a massive stone arch, conveying a sense of heft and solemnity, with a shaded path on either side. The academy district had a very good environnt, with a level of greenery far exceeding other areas, and the streets were also very spacious, giving a quiet and comfortable feeling.

Groups of students were coming and going, their ages ranging from about seventeen or eighteen to just over twenty, full of youthful vigor.

Developed until now, the academy district had not just Omutuo Academy; there were four or five other schools nearby, all universities. Consequently, the students’ uniforms or badges differed to varying degrees.

But they also shared similarities, naly that they were generally carrying bags or clutching books, contributing to an excellent academic atmosphere.

Chen Lun, leaning on his silver staff, walked straight into Omutuo Academy.

Crossing the huge archway, he arrived at a main boulevard, with large, clean lawns on either side.

Although he had lowered the brim of his hat, his deanor and his handso features that could hardly be concealed still attracted the attention of many female students.

These young girls, in the throes of budding romance, always held a strong curiosity and longing for handso n.

When they saw the young gentleman, they unconsciously stopped walking, blushing as they continued to gaze at him, even teasing and urging their companions to go forward and ask for contact information.

‘With the “Ultimate Beauty,” my Charm Value has reached 40 points; basically, I am like a walking hormone… These mortal girls absolutely can’t resist the temptation.’

Chen Lun once again politely declined two female students’ invitations for a date, glancing subtly at his surroundings, he sighed to himself.

‘Ah, well, I shouldn’t say that…’

He then noticed that not only the female students but also quite a few male students and even two stray cats were staring at him, and he shook his head.

Seeing this, Chen Lun imdiately quickened his pace.

Guided by the divinations from the staff, he quickly arrived at the academy’s soccer field, where many students were engaged in sports. And on one side at the broad, tiered steps, Chen Lun found Francis.

But to his surprise, in addition to Francis, there was another familiar face.

“Lucy, Lucy! Wait for , don’t walk so fast!”

A youth with light brown short hair, holding a book, was chasing after a beautiful girl. Both were wearing the blue and white uniforms of Omutuo Academy, but the girl’s unusual looks made that ordinary outfit very eye-catching.

Especially her dark green long hair and a pair of slender legs, which were a striking accent.

The Charming Demon girl, Lucy, was looking irritated as if she had had enough of Francis’s pestering, and sat down on the steps with arms crossed, not even giving a glance to the youth next to her.

“Just say what you want and then stay away from …”

Lucy said coldly.

Her face was toward the soccer field, but her attention was clearly not on the groups of boys trying to sweat it out to impress the female students.

“Hey, Lucy, look what I found…”

Francis sat down next to Lucy with eagerness and then presented the book he held as if offering a treasure, pushing it in front of her.

“This is a book I found by chance in the library today … it contains much profound knowledge and secrets about this world.”

Francis eagerly shared his excitent.

“I bet the author, ‘Carn,’ is a significant figure unknown to the public, like a hermit or a mage, possessing extraordinary mystical powers from legends!”

“Oh…”

Lucy pursed her lips, apparently unimpressed.

She took the old book and asked in a languid tone:

“So, what magic have you learned from this ‘great to’?”

“Uh…”

Francis laughed awkwardly and cleared his throat.

“No… none, I don’t understand anything.”

Imdiately afterwards, he regained his confident deanor and assuredly patted his chest:

“But give so more ti, and I’m sure I’ll decipher its secrets! Therefore, I sincerely invite you, dear Miss Lucy, to study it with … I believe that in the end, we will both possess those extraordinary mystical powers!”

Lucy looked at him with a peculiar gaze and then shrugged:

“I’ll take it back and take a look first; if I’m interested, I’ll let you know.”

After saying that, she got up with the book and left.

Francis was left sitting in place, his face flushed, watching Lucy go away with an adoring gaze.

What he didn’t see, however,

was that after Lucy turned at the end of the soccer field’s steps, she bumped into a gentleman with a black hat and then showed a surprised and admiring expression.

“Mr. Jack!”
