Gem State, Fossil City.

The Shelter building.

“The warrant for Akebin can be called off… but let’s not make too much noise, lest we startle the snake in the grass,” Mona said as she sat in her new office, directing the two investigators.

...

The subordinates were sowhat puzzled but took the order seriously, preparing to carry it out later.

Mona looked at the notepad in her hand, which contained intelligence sent from Amber City.

Ralph, who was still there, indicated that Jack had secretly delivered an important docunt to the Shelter, detailing the entire process by which Monk Jero of the Red Apple Church plotted the plague incident, as well as so key details and evidence.

In fact, when Chen Lun wrote this report, he had inserted his own slant. Not to ntion exaggerating and embellishing the facts, he also expressed so of the Red Apple Church’s ambitions and dangers with a tone of cautious speculation.

The whole thing depicted a Transcendent who was devoted wholeheartedly to the stability of the Empire, showcasing Jack’s persona of kindness and justice to the fullest.

Initially, Ralph had a hard ti believing that the Red Apple Church, one of the Seven Righteous God Churches, could be so insane.

But after multiple confirmations and even sending the evidence back to the main city, Fossil City, the relevant departnts also acknowledged the veracity of the facts.

The authenticity of the docunt and the handwritten letters was beyond doubt!

This also ant that the charges against the Red Apple Church were severe!

A hidden undercurrent beneath the Empire’s vast sea began to surge violently.

Mona knew the matter was of great significance, and that all parties would take it extrely seriously upon learning the truth. Therefore, she imdiately compiled the whole process into a report and submitted it to her ntor, Rudolf Teka.

Unfortunately, the Judge had gone out due to so affairs and had not yet returned.

“The Red Apple Church is a cancer of the Empire; Jack warned us about them a long ti ago, but almost none of our colleagues believed it…” Mona grimaced with frustration.

“Now what to do about the Red Apple Church…?”

This matter involved the Seven Righteous God Churches, and as a leader of Mona’s rank, she had no authority to deal with it. Even for her teacher, it would likely require discussion in the conference of the Six States and then a report to the Shelter’s headquarters in Royal City, seeking a decision from the Sun Royal Family.

It might even be presented to the Sun King himself for personal review.

She sighed heavily, thinking that if others had taken it seriously, the plague incident might not have deteriorated to its current state.

Mona felt a mix of exasperation and guilt.

Even she had wavered at the beginning, influenced by her colleagues, and had not been as trusting of Jack.

But the facts proved Jack was right!

The Red Apple Church harbored malice and was more dreadful than any cult organization!

“Leader Mona!”

An anxious voice suddenly broke in.

A young Investigator burst into the office, and Mona along with the two subordinates turned their heads to look.

“Urgent notice! The Judge has betrayed the Shelter! He’s been added to the S-tier wanted list!”

“What?!”

Mona stood up abruptly, her face reflecting utter disbelief.

“That’s impossible!”

She bolted from the office, completely ignoring the shouts of the Investigator behind her.

Mona rushed through the building, her colleagues pushed aside with disapproval at first, but their expressions grew complex when they recognized her.

Nearly everyone knew she was the favorite student of Judge Rudolf Teka, but…

This very Judge was a man with ulterior motives, hiding within the Shelter for seven years, inspiring dread upon reflection.

Bang!

Mona reached the top floor and flung open the door to her teacher’s office.

Inside, four or five n and won in black stood, each with a gold badge the size of a finger on their chest, the numbers on them all different.

“The Imperial Judgent Group…” Mona’s heart skipped a beat.

She had only heard of this organization and had never dealt with them before.

It was said to be the most secretive group within the Shelter, its mbers handpicked from the captains of each Executioner Squad and the high-ranking officials of various branches, solely under the control of the Royal Family and acting on the orders of the Sun King.

“Leader Mona, you’ve arrived…” spoke a woman with purple hair and sunglasses.

Her lips coated in dark purple lipstick parted calmly as she relayed a piece of news:

“I’m sorry to tell you, your teacher isn’t really nad Rudolf Teka; he is the S-tier fugitive ‘The Tragedian’ Howard… and he even manipulated the death of your father.”

As she spoke, a man beside her tossed a book to Mona.

Mona caught the book with a blank face and saw the cover titled “Mona, Daughter of the Uncontrolled.”

“The room has been cleaned out… It seems that this guy sensed sothing was wrong and escaped in advance.”

“Then why did he leave behind only ‘Mona, Daughter of the Uncontrolled’?”

“Ha… It’s just the taste for mischief of those Destiny Sequence people, manipulating others’ destinies, relishing the sight of others’ collapse upon learning the truth… Howard is probably hiding in so corner now, secretly mocking us.”

The black-clad n and won continued discussing among themselves, paying no mind to Mona standing to the side.

As she read the deep blue writing inside the book, her sorrow could no longer be contained; she dropped to her knees with a thud and her tears flooded uncontrollably.

Her long-held beliefs shattered in an instant.

But unbeknownst to everyone, an invisible thread drifted from the despairing Mona and vanished into the unseen.
