The Golden-winged Sparrow flew over the streets and alleys, arriving in front of an apartnt building where it didn't stop but directly entered a third-floor window.

It finally landed on the shoulder of a young man with black hair.

"Eat."

Chen Lun took out a handful of prepared grains, spread his palm, and held it in front of the sparrow. The Golden-winged Sparrow pecked a few tis, then started chirping noisily.

"The Shelter really has co knocking …"

His eyelids drooped.

That night, after leaving the gathering of the association, he had encountered Molir's ambush. The other party evidently wanted to take revenge for the "Gentleman," thus staging a scene of the mantis stalking the cicada. But in reality, the Shelter and the Red Apple Church had already joined hands, focusing on suppressing the association mbers while primarily targeting Molir.

They played the role of the oriole, striking at Molir together after faking their own "defeat and death."

But his own strength had far exceeded everyone's expectations. He had not only survived Molir's hands but had also turned the tables on him. He even managed to escape comfortably under the joint efforts of the two Sequence Seven agents.

At that ti, "Maggie's Tear" had helped him ward off Roderick's ntal attack, triggering a side effect and quite embarrassingly made a show of his presence before them.

For Newman and Roderick, this was a great humiliation.

As Amber City's most powerful four supernatural forces, the Shelter and the Red Apple Church had collaborated to kick the History and Ritual Association out of the ga, also annihilating a batch of rogue Transcendents. With the Moon Church staying neutral, the Mystic Realm of the entire city was now basically ruled by these two powers.

They wouldn't allow him to continue causing trouble in Amber City.

The Red Apple Church had already discovered his true identity, definitely a fight to the death situation.

Fortunately, with the help of Spiritual Intuition, Chen Lun sensed the crisis and utilized Divination, foreseeing bits and pieces which allowed him to leave Jack Estate ahead of ti with Floey and Connie.

He dispersed the servants and the coachman, temporarily hiding in the shadows.

"It's just a sha about all those machines and tools …"

Chen Lun thought to himself, feeling a pang of pain. Those were custom-made items that cost him tens to hundreds of Gold Pounds. Having them taken in a raid was sothing he simply could not tolerate.

"Mr. Jack, I've made you a cup of tea."

Connie walked over with a cup of tea, her face filled with worry.

Chen Lun released the Golden-winged Sparrow and took a sip from the tea.

"Connie, you won't be going to school for a while … I'm sorry for dragging you into this."

"It's okay, Mr. Jack. It's actually a good opportunity for to study that painting and I can read books to Miss Floey as well."

Connie smiled, and behind her on the couch, Floey sat quietly, while a maid with a newspaper stuttered through a reading beside her.

"Don't worry, I will resolve this matter very soon."

Chen Lun said.

Connie nodded, seeming to trust him completely.

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

Following which, Walsh entered swiftly, coming by Chen Lun's side to whisper:

"Mr. Jack, young master Noah asks for you."

"Alright, I understand."

Chen Lun nodded to Connie and Floey, then followed Walsh out.

As they passed the hallway, he glanced again at the nurous paintings hung on the walls. All were the works of Noah. Although Chen Lun's level of appreciation was limited, he could tell the excellence of these paintings.

It was also a coincidence that just as he had evacuated Jack Estate, he encountered "Chubby" Noah on the street, forced to stop due to his carriage breaking down.

When Noah saw Chen Lun, he was overjoyed, soon after whispering that he had co specifically to find him. Chen Lun was surprised at this, but Noah quickly explained that he had learned of the warrant for Chen Lun's arrest and wanted to help him.

There's no such thing as a free lunch in this world, and Chen Lun imdiately beca wary.

However, Noah's next words slightly lowered his guard.

"Mr. Jack, my mother and brother have both suffered at the hands of the Shelter and Red Apple Church. My brother Rex even died in an assassination... Even my current appearance was caused by the Red Apple Church."

Noah still had his shy deanor, but behind his glasses, a flicker of hate could be seen.

He said he could provide Chen Lun a temporary place to stay to avoid the search.

Chen Lun knew the Silver Dragon Trade Association didn't get along well with the Shelter, but he had thought it was just a conflict of interests, unaware of the deeper issues involved.

Since he was also interested in interacting with this potential future antagonist, he agreed to co along. But before doing so, Chen Lun secretly perford a Divination and softly let go of his Silver Staff, which stood quietly by itself.

Reassured, he followed Noah to this apartnt, which was a temporary residence belonging to the Silver Dragon Trade Association.

Knock knock.

Walsh knocked on the door, and Noah's voice ca from inside.

"Please co in."

The door opened. Chen Lun followed Walsh inside.

Noah's rotund body sat on a small chair, painting on a canvas. His movents were quick, incongruously so for his large fra, as if creating the painting at a speed visible to the naked eye.

The painting depicted a woman in a silver robe, regal and elegant, who looked only about twenty-eight or twenty-nine years old.

"Uncle Walsh, I'd like to have a private conversation with Mr. Jack."

Noah set down his paintbrush and palette, showing Walsh an apologetic smile.

"I will heed your will, young master Noah."

Walsh bowed respectfully, clasping his chest, then withdrew, closing the door behind him.

Click.

"Mr. Jack, please take a seat."

Noah smiled slightly, revealing a dimple.

Chen Lun removed his hat, nodded, and found a chair to sit down in casually.

"It is apparent that you, Mr. Jack, are a powerful Transcendent... However, the Shelter and the Red Apple Church are deep and unfathomable, so you must still be cautious,"

said Noah.

"Thank you for your concern, Mr. Noah."

"No, no... don't call Mr., just use my na."

Noah, slightly embarrassed, said with a flushed face.

"Alright, Noah,"

said Chen Lun, pointing to the painting behind the other.

"May I ask who that painting is of...?"

"Oh, this is my mother, Blaze."

Upon hearing Chen Lun's address, Noah relaxed and explained with a smile.

"I've loved painting since I was young. I wasn't very interested in the family business; perhaps I had so talent. Therefore, my mother and brother have both supported in pursuing this path... and I paint my mother the most."

As Noah spoke about painting, his eyes lit up, clearly passionate about it.

Chen Lun remained silent.

He had heard the na Blaze before, but that was as far as his knowledge went... Because she was a Saint.

—A Saint residing in the southernmost part of the Kingdom in the "City of Shuoli."

At the ti, Chen Lun was just a Mid Sequence Transcendent and not qualified to et this "Silver Dragon Witch," but he was well aware that she was the spiritual and martial pillar behind the Silver Dragon Trade Association.

He had not expected Noah to be her son, nor was he clear about why Noah would beco one of the version 2.0 antagonist bosses in the future.

Subsequently, the two of them started discussing topics related to painting.

Using the advantage of being a transmigrator, Chen Lun narrated many anecdotes of great painters from forr eras and so concepts of painting, eliciting constant amazent from Noah.

[Noah's affection for you has increased! It is now 'Close'!]

Chen Lun raised an eyebrow.

"Talking with you has really been enjoyable, Mr. Jack. It's a pity you aren't interested in painting; otherwise, I think you could beco a great painter,"

lanted Noah.

Chen Lun rely smiled, not indicating anything.

"However, I think your appearance might be better suited to modeling. It has been many years since I've encountered a man as handso as you..."

Noah adjusted the round-frad glasses on his nose, his eyes gleaming with excitent behind the lenses.

"??"

Chen Lun's heart skipped a beat.

Could it be that Noah has so strange fetish? How did I not know of this!

"Perhaps not..."

"Oh, don't misunderstand, Mr. Jack,"

Noah picked up his paintbrush, putting on a serious face.

"You don't need to take off your clothes. I have already morized your physique in my mind, and can perfectly replicate every muscle..."

"!!"
