Chapter 9: The Forbidden Being Awakened from the River of Ti
“Forgotten by the world…”
The commander stood frozen, hearing those words. Why would the world forget?
The world isn’t human—how could it possibly rember soone’s na?
Did he an that, in a past era, this person once had unparalleled glory? But there were no reports of any formidable figure wearing a faceless mask.
Could it be from an even more ancient ti?
But how many years had passed? Even the oldest of ages should have been washed away by the endless river of ti.
“We survived!”
The remaining survivors gazed at the piles of spider corpses around them and couldn’t help but exhale in relief.
They had thought they would beco food for these twisted spiders, but then, out of nowhere, a mysterious figure had appeared, sweeping away all the monsters!
Though the stranger’s powers were terrifying and mysterious, ability did not define character. Power, no matter how dark, was still sothing controlled by the individual.
A burly man sighed, saying,
“Finally, we don’t have to die. That was really terrifying!”
A young woman awakener excitedly exclaid,
“He’s my idol now! I’m going to be the wife of a powerful being like him!”
Her best friend couldn’t resist teasing,
“You’re probably just imagining a future with him. With such a powerful man, he’s not going to lack for won. Even if you offer yourself as his bedmate, he wouldn’t even glance at you!”
“Ahh, Li Tongtong, you’re always ruining my mont! I’ll make you pay for this!”
“Yuan Jing, I’m not afraid of you! You’ve never beaten in a fight!”
The girl imdiately got riled up, playfully arguing with her friend. The other survivors couldn’t help but smile at the scene!
Everyone was alive—how wonderful!
Yet, with admiration, ca confusion:
“Why is this mysterious figure carrying a balloon?”
The discussion suddenly fell silent. Why would such a powerful being carry a toy balloon?
Was it so peculiar hobby of powerful beings?
The commander wiped the sweat from his forehead, smiling as he replied,
“Maybe it’s so kind of keepsake.”
The others nodded, not ruling out that possibility!
The girl, Li Tongtong, offered her guess,
“Maybe he brought it ho for his child. He’s warm and powerful, the perfect man! I really want to see what he looks like under that mask…”
As they discussed, a presence suddenly appeared behind the commander. Before he could turn, a figure appeared beside him.
“Is the Evil God ritual finished?”
A deep, resonant voice sounded. It was a man in dark green military attire, tall, with a square face, speaking slowly but with a powerful confidence!
Upon seeing him, all the survivors straightened up, respectfully saying,
“Colonel Li!”
The square-faced man was Li Xuan, the strongest in Hangzhou, a Morning Star-level powerhouse, a legendary “Ten Thousand Enemies”!
In this world where strength reigned supre, a Morning Star-level fighter, unless restrained by soone of equal power, could easily destroy an ordinary city if they broke through its defense systems!
But this Colonel Li Xuan wasn’t just a Morning Star—he controlled Hangzhou’s military, a protector of millions!
Li Xuan nodded in acknowledgnt of their salute and turned his gaze to the commander, softly asking,
“I received your distress signal and rushed back. What’s the situation now? Did the Spider Priest escape?”
At first, Li Xuan had braced himself for the destruction of Hangzhou, but when he entered the city, he found that only the northern district had been affected.
The spider monsters hadn’t appeared, and even the Spider Priest had disappeared without a trace. Had they really moved that quickly?
The commander, not daring to delay, quickly described what had happened, emphasizing the words left by the masked figure!
“Forgotten by the world…”
Li Xuan murmured these words, and his expression suddenly changed. The commander, sensing sothing was wrong, asked anxiously,
“Colonel, is there sothing wrong here?”
Li Xuan’s face grew grim as he nodded and said gravely,
“If what he said is true, and considering his indifferent attitude toward the Evil God, it’s very likely he is a Forbidden Existence!”
Zhou Zheng, puzzled, asked,
“A Forbidden Existence? He only displayed Morning Star-level power. Why would you call him a Forbidden Existence…”
“Foolish. At that level, a powerful being can control every ounce of their power precisely. His actions were all to avoid injuring you,”
Li Xuan replied, his words firm. But inside, he had another hypothesis that he didn’t voice.
He had just examined the twisted spiders and the Spider Priest’s corpse. It wasn’t just the bodily fluids that had been drained—their vitality and souls had been taken as well!
Such terrifying power was far beyond the Morning Star level. And considering the masked figure had not shown overwhelming strength, this being could very well have just awakened from an eternal slumber, still not having regained all of its strength!
Li Xuan recalled what his teacher had once said: So beings who reach the forbidden realm can only be destroyed by erasing every trace of their existence.
If even a single person speaks their na, they would rise again from the depths of ti and space, reclaiming their strength and authority!
Li Xuan’s gaze darkened as he realized the weight of the information he carried. He quickly turned and left, planning to upload all the details to his superiors.
anwhile, Zhou Zheng was tasked with overseeing the recovery and cleanup of Hangzhou’s northern district, and all the spider corpses were to be sent to the lab for analysis.
Zhou Zheng scratched his head, wondering aloud,
“Do Forbidden Existences buy balloons too? Maybe I should get one too!”
Elsewhere, Lu Yu remained completely unaware that his identity had shifted from that of an ancient powerhouse to a Forbidden Being awakened from the river of ti!
At that mont, he was rushing to accomplish sothing monuntal!
