Across the vast plains of the Eastern-Western Roads, a giant onyx wolf with fur that glistened with the ambience rays of the sun jumped out of a cloud of wind and landed a few steps away from two carriages that rode across the dusty plains in a frenzy.
On the second was the rchant, Neuj Rakarf, a frightened gaze on his expression as he glanced behind to find the crimson gaze of a wolf as large as its carriage.
He yelped in shock when a sudden thud echoed, followed by quick movents that approached the man from above.
"Stop the carriage"
The chilling voice caused a shiver down his spine as he looked up to find the white gaze of a boy who held a long sword that exuded a cold death.
Neuj raised his brow in a complicated expression as he yanked the reins.
"What are you going to do to if I do?" He asked, his tone laced with curiosity and nervousness as his horses neighed in response to the sudden tug and reduced their speed.
"These are Track Horses, the fastest breed amongst them. I can easily take off from here with or without you boarding my Carriage" he said with a dangerous smirk on his face.
Raph remained silent and glanced at the spot next to him. "Your helper boy isn't here. I assu those two back there belonged to Malen, but did the Eastern girl belong to you?"
The man remained silent for a mont, his expression hardening. "Does that matter right now?" He asked with a harsh tone in his voice.
Raph glanced at him. "That depends. You could stop the carriage and find out or continue and not". His expression remained cold and calm, exuding a level-headedness that ca with his expressions.
A mont of silence descended upon them, and they were left in a stalemate as they stared at each other, until Elsie suddenly jumped towards the side of the carriage, running with the sa speed as the horses.
Neuj turned towards her and shook slightly, while Raph jumped down from the top and sat next to the man, pointing the tip of his sword at the man's neck.
"We can stop it ourselves. But I presu you don't want to end up like the last Carriage?" he asked, with a dark intent.
Neuj had gotten his ssage loud and clear, and without needing to search through his thoughts, he could tell that his options were limited.
The constant growling from the ferocious onyx wolf next to him remained a constant reminder, and this forced him to co to a single conclusion.
"Fine…..but Malen. I wish you luck"
He said and tugged his horses, causing them to co to a halt.
As soon as the horses ca to a stop, the carriage did as well and this caused a further increase in the distance between the Carriage led by Malen and theirs.
Raph had used that opportunity to jump down from the carriage, his gaze lingering on Neuj.
"I presu I have your word for It? Remain here till the group returns"
Neuj scoffed. "If you catch Malen, then there's nothing that could make escape from you".
Raph looked away, his gaze lingering in the sky as if he was in contemplation. "True". He turned towards Elsie who stood next to the carriage at the other side.
"Elsie, You ready?" He asked with a smirk and a simple howl escaped from her lips as she charged ahead, leaving a trail of dust and wind in her wake.
Raph gave Neuj a curt nod before charging forward after Elsie, causing a shallow crater to form and a thrust of wind to blow across the field.
anwhile, Malen led the last carriage ahead in an attempt to get rid of the pursuers, only that it seed like his plans were made futile.
Next to him was a chubby, stout man with hairy arms and legs and a bald scalp. He was known as Colby rrier, the Black Market rchant, who was in charge of the third Carriage, and his expression revealed how displeased he was at their current predicant.
"This was not the plan, Malen!" he cried out with a rushed tone as he glanced behind their carriage. He could make out the incoming figures that were fast approaching, and it caused a further spread of fear within him. "You said we would gain big from this trip! Not get chased by an unknown rcenary!" he said as he glanced at Malen, who was busy with sothing else.

His gaze was fixed on the road, and he seed focused on escaping the pursuers, but his thoughts were currently stuck in the air. 'Why exactly am I running away from them?' He thought in confusion as the tremble of the ground spread to their carriage, caused by the speed of the incoming rcenaries.
'Kael?! Is it him? Again and again! He keeps coming in the way of the Peacemaker's plans! How dare he?!' His sudden fear of escaping began to dissipate.
Instead, sothing crimson and hot began to fill it. 'Everything should have gone accordingly! We should have made it to the bo4der by now! The rcenaries should have been dead by now! The trip should have been over by now! So why?!'
His gaze slowly contorted into a furious scowl as his brows furrowed deeply.
'How dare you co in the way of the Peacemaker's plans?!' he cried out in his head as he focused on the road.
He felt a panging emotion burning from within, but for so reason, he could not stop. It didn't matter how he did it or how he was going to do it. What mattered was the result. He was going to complete his task and fulfill his duties to the Red Peacemakers. It is the will of their Lord, the Head of the Peacemakers and the executives.
'How can one child ruin my plans?!'
He wanted to halt the horses and reveal the anger from within. He wanted to grab Kael and beat him into a pulp, and even stab his arm through his heart until his last heartbeat. '....but no, I must focus on the task at hand'. He thought, just before he glanced at Colby.
The bald man jerked in shock due to his sudden movent and took a few steps back in shock. "Do–Don't do anything that you will regret, Malen. You are still under a contract with the Eastern Army".
Malen raised a brow at him. "You have done nothing but complain. Where is your ssenger boy? Send him against them so we can escape!"
Colby raised a brow and begrudgingly shook his head. "It is not ti. If the rcenaries were to recognize him, then…"
"Then nothing! You want to earn big, don't you?!" Malen asked with a raised, harsher tone. "Junior, Neuj and Rafi have been taken out. God knows what they will do to us once they get the information out of us! You need to kill them".
Colby remained fixed on his spot, appalled by the idea of releasing his Helper boy into the world. It was a fact that rcenaries were allowed to take a helper or so sort of assistant in their trading business, but whoever they chose depended on them.
So rcenaries preferred non-combatants as their Helper boys, and others preferred Combatants or even females as their Helpers.
It didn't matter who you chose, but Colby had purposely instructed his helper boy to remain low-key because of his origin. An origin that could cause a stir in society.
Was he truly willing to take such a risk?
Colby bit his lip and shook his head. "It is not ti!" he exclaid, causing Malen to frown deeply.
He grabbed Colby by his collar and pulled him with a single motion.
"Do you want to die?" He asked in a hollow, cold tone as his gaze bore holes into Colby's soul.
The rchant shook his head in fear, as he whispered.
"N–No, bu–t you know how th–these things are…..
Granny Swan instructed us not to. I am only following procedures here".
Malen remained silent for a mont when two people suddenly appeared next to him.
His eyes bulged open in shock as he pushed Colby away and snapped towards his right.
"Oh, is this Sir Malen? Fancy eting you here".
Raph said with a chuckle as he looked down at Malen while riding atop Elsie.
Malen smiled bitterly. "I can say the sa, Sir Kael. Why are you chasing us?" He asked with fake curiosity.
"What can I say? I have a job to do, you have a job to do. Let's all just calm down and do our jobs"
Malen glared at Raph as he thought. 'You are the one stopping from doing mine, you bastard!'
"By the way, Sir Malen. I didn't realize your helpers were all-powerful. Well, I couldn't use my eyes properly all this ti, but now that I do., I'm quite startled".
Malen raised a brow in confusion. "You're blind though. You couldn't have seen them, even if you wanted to"
Raph chuckled in response as he glanced at the Cabin. "True, but Sir Malen," he said as he pointed at the Cabin. "What kind of monstrosity did you bring with you all this ti?"
