It wasn't long before I got to class, and took my seat in my usual seating position before the Lecturer of the next course arrived.

Lecturer Heartfilia Ruby, a lecturer of the Alchemy departnt, will be lecturing us on the Introductory in Alchemy.

I always considered a course that was unnecessary for since I would better spend my ti training than making potions, but the basics, such as identifying herbal and magical plants, would be useful on the battlefield.

A pro that I failed to look into in my past life. Especially since I had to learn the basics to survive in forests and jungles during the war.

"Good day, Students," She greeted, adjusting her glasses on her freckled, laced face. Her green hair was tied ssily into a bun with a long iron hairpin holding it in place.

I heard she had a particular deanor in her first class, and I was curious to find out more about her.

'Maybe I shouldn't have stayed away from Alchemy in my past life'.

I silently watched as she brought out so utensils from a pocket plain when I felt movent within my aura zone.

An aura zone is a specific diater of space, where I imprint my aura and instantly identify individuals that have crossed into my zone. All masters could do this, though the level of mastery depends on how good you are at using aura.

'It's one of the requirents in getting to the 9th star, resonance'.

From the 9th star upwards, a Swordsman becos able to imprint the physical plane with their aura. It makes use of every elent learned from the 1st star and takes it up a notch until the 10th star, which is dominance.

'And ascending to the 9th star has proven difficulty at the mont'. I thought with a sigh when I turned towards the figure that walked up to .

"Princess?" I muttered, raising a brow at the sa ti when I felt an uncomfortable intensity.

Turning towards the direction of the sources, my gaze locked with Lana.

"Don't mind her" Princess adow's voice echoed in my ear as she sat next to .

I shook my head, turning away from the girl.

"Why would I?"

She giggled in response. "Right"

Lecturer Heartfillia began her lecture on Alchemy, and soon the class was being pulled to her words.

"I'm sure we rember where last we stopped; we were talking about how to find materials to create a simple healing potion."

On the table were so familiar herbs, conical flasks, and so other laboratory utensils.

She drew a small magic circle on the middle of the table and placed her finger on it. For a brief mont, the circle began to glow, before a tongue of fla erupted above the circle.

She placed a tripod over the fla, and a glass flask containing a white liquid on top of the tripod.

Then turning towards the classroom, she scanned the students present and pointed at a girl.

"Yes, you, what was your na again?" She asked.

A girl with black hair and black eyes stood up with a startled motion. She adjusted her glasses, as she replied.

"It–It's Zara Leadia, Ma'am"

"Yes, yes," Heartfillia said with a nod. "Well then, you said you had an alchemy profession. Can you co to show us how to make a basic potion with the herbs presented here?"

Zara hesitated, but soon enough, she nodded her head and walked towards the raised podium.

'A basic magic potion, as she called it, was essentially one of the easiest to create, or at least that's how I recalled it from my past life'.

The class's attention was fixed on the girl as she started explaining certain procedures.

Zara Leadia was one of Canary's friends and a future Alchemist who contributed during the war.

I did not doubt that she would be able to concort it, but my mind was currently being puzzled by sothing else entirely.

Turning to my left, I noticed the princess's rapt attention in the alchemy process.

'Is she really interested in this?' I wondered, when she suddenly turned towards , our gazes locking.

For a brief mont, it seed like we were staring into each other's souls, though it would be difficult for sothing like that to occur without realizing it.

The edge of her lip curled upwards, forming a smirk. Your journey continues on My Virtual Library Empire

"You're interesting; you don't think like our agemates." She said,

"....Is that a complint, Princess?" I asked, turning away from her gaze. 'She's pretty'.

Well, of course she is, she's the princess.

Princess adow giggled as she looked away as well. "You could say that....or you could say that I find you quite suspicious."

'Understandable'. I shrugged my shoulders in reply. "Is there sothing you need from ?"

The princess glanced at , an interesting expression on her face. "Oh, dear, we're partners, aren't we? Why would you make it seem like I would co to you only when I needed sothing?" She said, and her tone was laced with so much sarcasm that I could have mistaken it for the truth.

Her brows were furrowed lightly, and her lips pouted incredulously.

"Um, princess, I don't tend to like jokes like that," I replied with a sigh. 'Sarcasm annoys when it's used on .'

"Oh? Is there a particular reason why you don't? It's nice to make fun of friends now and then".

I picked a glance at her, with a raised brow. "is this seriously the princess right now? Your choice of speech is so…informal"

"I decided to trust you, at least for now, while we're partners….is it too much to treat you as a friend?" She asked.

I was left tongue-tied for a while as my thoughts began to line in order.

'The princess is trying to be friendly, it seems'.

Her lips suddenly curled into a smile, and she leaned towards , her gaze looking upwards at mine.

I flinched unconsciously, pushing backward away from her, but she closed that gap in a heartbeat.

"Or, do you want sothing more?" She asked, and my mind nearly went blank.

'Hah shit….I an, co on, isn't Elsie enough, or wait…is she ssing with right now? This fucking princess…' A frown crossed my face, but she didn't seem to care.

My gaze slowly flickered, shifting downwards from her eyes to her lips, and even further down to her…..

"Is there sothing going on there?".

A loud female voice rang in my ear and snapped back to reality, and I instantly shifted from adow.

Turning toward the source of the voice, a wave of embarrassnt struck upon noticing the whole class's gaze on , including the Lecturer.

'Hah shit'. I thought when the Princess spoke.

"I apologize for the discourtesy, Miss Heartfillia. Please, continue with the class".

Lecturer Heartfillia stared at us for a mont longer, then turned towards the table where Zara stood with a bottle of a light green liquid.

"You were flirting in my class, do you realize that?" She said, and the students began to jest and murmur about her statent.

'I an, I would have to, but not when I'm the one they're talking about'.

A sigh escaped my lips.

"We apologize if it seed that way; we didn't an to disrupt your class," I said, as respectfully as I could.

Lecturer Heartfillia took the round bottle from Zara, held it close to her eyes, and then shook it for a mont.

She then took out a knife from her pocket plain, pulled up her lab coat, and cut a thin line on her arm.

The class gasped in shock, widening their eyes and so even dropping their mouth agape in response to her action, but Miss. Heartfillia did not pay attention to them.

Instead, she proceeded to pour the potion on the cut on her arm, just as soon as it began to bleed, dripping down to the floor.

In five seconds, a green glow emitted from the wound and healed itself.

Lecturer Heartfillia then raised her hand in the air and inspected it for a mont, then she turned towards Zara, who seed the most shocked.

"Not bad, Zara. It has a 70% recovery rate for your first trial. Did you say you had a profession in alchemy?"

Zara, still taken aback, flinched, and quickly nodded. "Ye–Yes". She stamred.

"Alright then, et in the alchemy lab after school"

"Yes, Ma'am," She replied, and Zara was instructed back to her seat.

"Alright then." The intensity in her tone increased suddenly as Zara walked away, and her attention was, once again, fixed on us.

She pointed at the both of us, her brows furrowed in annoyance.

"You think flirting in my class is accepted just because I'm cool with you kids? Are you stupid? Co down here and repeat what Zara had just done".

'Oh damn….' I bulged my eyes open in surprise as I took a peek at adow next to .

Her expression was blank, but her arms were shaking hard.

'...She just insulted the princess?'
