The glaring sunlight stread through the window into the living room.
Wang Longhu stood by the window, holding a bag of soup dumplings, watching the plaza of the district below.
It was already September, and the weather had started to beco slightly less hot. It was estimated that in another month, after October, the climate would completely transition from hot to cool.
"Those damn Japanese are truly heartless, actually pouring nuclear waste into the ocean, they’re scumbags." Fifth Uncle sat by the table, eating sweet bean curd while angrily scolding at the news.
Wang Longhu listened but remained focused on the scene below, where he could see nurous residents leaving their apartnt buildings, guided sowhere unknown by committee mbers.
"Fifth Uncle, is there so event happening in the Red River District today?" Wang Longhu asked.
"Hmm? I don’t know, haven’t heard anything." Fifth Uncle shook his head, still imrsed in the news about Japan Island’s plans to dump waste.
"A bit strange." Wang Longhu stuffed a soup dumpling into his mouth, feeling a vague sense of unease.
If it were a few residents going out, he wouldn’t find it odd, but during his ti having breakfast by the window, he’d seen at least a hundred people leave.
This scene didn’t resemble re outings at all, but rather so form of... evacuative asure.
"Fifth Uncle, when you rented this place from that couple, did you leave your information?" Wang Longhu hurriedly asked.
"Certainly not. That couple was urgently in need of money, I gave them rent, and they considered this apartnt lent to for living. They don’t know who I am."
Fifth Uncle finally noticed the unease in Wang Longhu’s tone, imdiately stood up, and ca to the window asking, "Is sothing wrong?"
"I have a premonition that our whereabouts might have been exposed, and the Four Poison Hall is making moves against us in secret." Wang Longhu quickly drew the curtains, packed their belongings, including breakfast and so trash.
Creating the illusion that no one had been living in the apartnt.
"Four Poison Hall? Can’t be." Fifth Uncle furrowed his brows, realizing if things were as Wang Longhu said, their current situation would be extrely dangerous.
It was likely that this ti their lives could be at risk in Vietnam.
"If my guess is right, soon there won’t be anyone living in any of the apartnt buildings in this district, and we’ll be the last outsiders remaining. Let’s go, Fifth Uncle, let’s switch to another apartnt, this place isn’t safe anymore."
Wang Longhu put on his backpack and quickly headed out the door, going upstairs.
Fifth Uncle followed imdiately, muscles tensed, ready for a bloody fight.
...
"Co over!"
A few hundred ters outside the Red River District, a Range Rover was parked at the street corner.
As two martial artists from the Four Poison Hall pressed in with three people, the rear window of the Range Rover slowly lowered, revealing an eerie, hawk-like face.
"Has there been anyone living in your ho recently?" Qiao Qichong asked with a tone devoid of waves.
His speech carried an oppressive authority that ordinary people could hardly bear.
The three pressed individuals instantly knelt down in fear, unable to speak.
Among them were a middle-aged couple and a dispirited youth, the youth whom Wang Longhu had seen before, who was the compulsive gambler being pursued for debts.
"I don’t know, I haven’t been ho for a long ti. My parents fled without a trace. I don’t know anything." The youth hurried to explain.
"We lent the house to soone to stay..." The youth’s parents, clearly honest folks, had never encountered such a scene, hesitantly revealed the truth.
"What? Lent! But then I t a mainlander who said you had already moved!" The youth was suddenly shocked, recounting the day Wang Longhu had rescued him.
This revelation made Qiao Qichong sitting in the car instantly understand everything.
He cracked a cold smile, "Chongyue, notify below, as soon as the district is evacuated, have our people act imdiately. Minister Qian only gave us an hour of blockade ti, hasten the resolution."
Chen Chongyue in the front passenger seat promptly opened the door to get out, adjusting his collar as he looked in the direction of the Red River District, "Understood, Second Uncle."
The Red River District had two main gates, north and south, the only entrances and exits. Under the arrangent of the Four Poison Hall, all residents received committee notifications, filing out of their hos towards nearby temporarily-arranged blood donation buses. Even those who did not et the donation criteria but participated in the physical examination were given a reward of 300,000 Vietnam dong.
Thus, even the most reluctant district residents, upon receiving the notice, left their hos excitedly, eager for the money.
As such, soon the entire Red River District fell into silence.
In the residential buildings, plaza, garden, there was not a soul to be seen, eerily quiet.
In this atmosphere, gun-wielding individuals began orderly entering the Red River District, searching each residential building.
"Is that martial artist Grandmaster hiding here?"
At the district’s front gate, Xiaogong Huangquanfeng and Xiaogong Chuanben strode in, observing the cleared buildings of the red-coated district.
Beside them, Chen Chongyue, Qiao Qichong, and Cyan Dragon Mount Tai stepped in with relentless ferocity on their faces.
