Gardevoir (male) was originally adept at Teleport, and now with Celebi's vast psychic power, Yuga and the others were easily brought outside the capital of Arus.

They found a secluded spot, and Yuga prepared to detoxify Shadowsong and treat Hubert's injuries.

He started by feeding a Sitrus Berry to Shadowsong, then gave him an antidote, and finally had Gardevoir use a Heal Bell.

With this triple layer of protection, the toxins in Shadowsong's body began to slowly recede, and his purplish complexion gradually returned to a healthier hue.

It was fortunate that Yuga had the habit of storing healing items, antidotes, and berries in his system's backpack, as this unexpected journey to the past had presented them with dire circumstances.

Dealing with the poison in Shadowsong's system was relatively straightforward for the modern-era antidote, even though it posed a challenge for the people of this ti.

However, Hubert's injuries were much more severe than Yuga had imagined. It was evident that Leon and his group had no intention of letting Hubert survive.

Although Yuga had healing items and Gardevoir's Heal Pulse were potent, they could only accelerate Hubert's wound healing, not counteract the rapid loss of his life force.

Hubert had extensive internal injuries, with bleeding contusions on his chest and back, severe organ damage, and multiple fractured bones throughout his body.

It was clear that these injuries were inflicted by Leon's Swampert.

Despite Yuga continuously administering healing items and Gardevoir sending Heal Pulse, they couldn't stop Hubert's breathing from weakening.

Yuga wasn't a trained dical professional, and he could only tell that Hubert was severely injured, unable to gauge the exact extent of his injuries.

What Yuga didn't know was that Hubert's already damaged internal organs had been punctured by fractured bones, especially his lungs, which were riddled with holes.

"No... don't... waste... any more... effort..." Hubert gasped, speaking intermittently. Each word he uttered seed to tear at his lungs.

After speaking, a large gush of blood flowed from Hubert's mouth and onto Yuga's hands.

Finally, Hubert couldn't swallow the healing item that Yuga offered.

Yuga suddenly felt powerless, helplessly watching a life slip away before his eyes.

Although Hubert was usually quiet and unobtrusive, he always followed Shadowsong silently.

Yuga found it hard to imagine how Shadowsong would feel when he learned of Hubert's death.

Gardevoir continued to send Heal Pulse to Hubert, and Yuga tried to alleviate his pain, but it was in vain.

Shadowsong remained unconscious, unaware that his closest companion was slipping away.

Using his last ounce of strength, Hubert retrieved his Poke Ball and released his Dusknoir, saying to it, "Protect... Protect... His Highness..."

Dusknoir looked at his trainer and emitted mournful cries.

When Hubert was captured by Leon, he hadn't had the chance to release Dusknoir. He didn't anticipate that Leon would turn against him so suddenly.

Later on, he didn't dare to release Dusknoir, fearing that it would only lead to Dusknoir's demise.

Although Dusknoir was reasonably powerful, it was outnumbered.

Moreover, Dusknoir was no match for Leon's Swampert.

After speaking with Dusknoir, Hubert spat out another mouthful of dark blood, which was even more black than before.

"Shi... please... Mr. Shimizu... help... help... His Highness..."

Hubert knew that, in this situation, only Yuga could help Shadowsong.

Although the request was demanding, he had no other option.

Yuga, despite the bitterness in his heart, nodded, "Don't worry."

Even without Hubert's request, he would have helped Shadowsong. For the sake of his own future and his ntor, he had to do this favor.

Seeing Yuga's nod, a smile finally appeared on Hubert's face before his eyes closed, and he drifted into unconsciousness once more.

Ten minutes later, despite Yuga's best efforts, he couldn't prevent Hubert from slipping away.

Staring at Hubert's gradually stiffening body, Yuga felt a sense of numbness.

This was the first ti he had been so close to soone close to him passing away.

Gardevoir gently patted Yuga's shoulder and comforted him, saying, "Don't be too sad; you did your best."

It took Yuga a while to nod in response. "Yes, I did my best."

Yuga and Gardevoir didn't rush to bury Hubert. After all, Shadowsong needed to see him one last ti.

Night fell quickly, and Shadowsong still hadn't awakened. Yuga and Gardevoir found a cave and moved Shadowsong and Hubert's bodies inside, preparing to spend the night there.

In the middle of the night, Yuga couldn't sleep and silently watched over Shadowsong and Hubert's bodies.

At this mont, Shadowsong slowly opened his eyes.

Through the flickering firelight, Shadowsong saw Yuga and Gardevoir sitting nearby.

"What happened? Where are we?" Shadowsong looked at Yuga in confusion.

He tried to sit up, but his body felt weak.

Seeing this, Yuga quickly supported him and said, "You were poisoned, and your body is still weak. Lie down for now."

"Poisoned?" Shadowsong was even more puzzled. He only rembered seeing his mother's personal maid, who seed to have sothing to tell him.

But before she could speak, Leon had approached him. After that, he lost consciousness and couldn't recall anything else.

"Leon poisoned you; he wanted to kill you. I've taken you away from the palace," Yuga explained slowly.

"Why... Why would he?" Shadowsong was shocked. He then asked anxiously, "Where's Hubert? Why isn't he here?"

When Shadowsong ntioned Hubert, both Yuga and Gardevoir fell silent, finding it difficult to tell him the cruel truth.

"Why... Why aren't you saying anything? Hubert should be with . Where is he?" Shadowsong's unease grew, and his voice trembled.

He struggled to sit up several tis but lacked the strength and fell back each ti.

Yuga took out Dusknoir's Poke Ball and handed it to Shadowsong, saying, "This is what Hubert left for you."

"What... What does that an?" Shadowsong didn't take the Poke Ball, but his eyes widened, and even in the dimly lit cave, Yuga could see the bloodshot whites of his eyes.

Deep down, Shadowsong already knew the answer.

Yuga didn't know how to console Shadowsong at this mont and could only silently place the Poke Ball in his hand, saying, "Tomorrow, you can see him one last ti."

Hearing those words, Shadowsong's heart raced, and he felt his blood flow in reverse. Unable to bear it, he fainted once again.
