Hearing wtwo's words, Yuga replied, "I don't know what this thing is either. It's undergone a mutation, but it should indeed be an energy plant."

Upon hearing this, wtwo flew over to the ghost vine, touched its trunk with its hand, then looked at Yuga and asked, "Can I take so back for research?"

"Research?" Yuga said in surprise, then nodded and replied, "Sure, no problem. There are still lots of vines we cleared from it outside. I'll send them all in here for you as research materials!"

Mainly, there wasn't much of the main body of the ghost vine left. If he took any more for wtwo to research, it was uncertain whether the ghost vine could still be replanted successfully. Besides, there were so many vines that had already been cleared—keeping them was pointless. It was perfect for waste utilization; he might as well let wtwo study them.

Upon hearing this, wtwo said, "Alright, I'll wait for you," and left.

After Yuga replanted the ghost vine, he went outside to transport those vines into the ecological park. There was a huge quantity of vines—more than enough for wtwo's research.

After handing the vines over to wtwo, Yuga put the matter behind him. anwhile, Spiritomb settled down just like that at the YoYo Day Care.

Life at YoYo Day Care turned out to be much more comfortable than Spiritomb had imagined. It didn't take long before Spiritomb got used to living there.

That day, Yuga was in the upstairs studio of the new shop, making incense together with Lain. Sohow, he felt especially smooth and efficient in making incense that day, as if all his ridians had suddenly been cleared.

He didn't know how much ti had passed when suddenly, a system notification sounded in his mind—his incense-making skill had risen to advanced level.

Yuga currently had a side quest. The quest objective was to raise his Pokéblock-making skill to the top level, and his incense-making skill to interdiate level.

To complete the task as soon as possible, Yuga had been putting in a lot of effort into making Pokéblocks and incense. Unless there were special circumstances, he practiced daily. In fact, his incense-making skill had already reached interdiate level a while ago. He only needed to get his Pokéblock-making to the top level to complete this current side quest.

But this kind of craftsmanship wasn't easy to raise to the top level. Besides, Yuga wasn't as naturally talented as Misaki. So even with the tutorial videos provided by the system as a foundation, he still hadn't managed to reach the top level.

Now, his incense-making skill had already improved to the advanced level, yet his Pokéblock-making skill still hadn't broken through to the top.

"Could it be that I'm more gifted in making incense than in making Pokéblocks? Or... am I actually a genius?" Yuga couldn't help but silently wonder to himself.

Of course, Yuga was overthinking it. His skills had improved so quickly entirely thanks to his usual diligence. It was possible to get from interdiate to advanced through hard work, but going from advanced to top level couldn't be achieved by effort alone.

In fact, if it weren't for the system-provided tutorial videos, with Yuga's not-so-impressive natural talent, it would be nearly impossible for him to raise his Pokéblock and incense-making skills to the top level.

Fortunately, Yuga had already obtained the tutorial video for Pokéblock-making. Once his skill level in Pokéblock-making improved, the reward for the incense-making tutorial video would also be issued.

When it ca to natural talent in crafting Pokéblocks and incense, Yuga lagged far behind Misaki and Lain.

Misaki had long since beco a top-level Pokéblock maker. Lain, through her own hard work, was not far from becoming a top-level incense maker either.

They had both reached their current heights through their own effort, while Yuga had rely followed behind them, dragged forward by their influence.

Luckily, the system tailored its quests to Yuga's actual capabilities. Otherwise, if the difficulty were any higher, he probably wouldn't be able to complete them.

Still, no matter what, Yuga was happy to see his skill level rise.

Based on the system's usual style, even if he completed this side quest, there would definitely be new ones, most likely in the sa series. So this unexpected boost in his incense-making skill would certainly help him complete the next phase of the system quests.

Seeing Yuga spacing out, Lain asked, "Boss, what's wrong with you?"

Lain was just asking casually, after all, the boss often spaced out like this—she was already used to it. But what the boss said next really surprised her.

"Take a look at this incense I made. Don't you think the quality has improved?"

Hearing this, Lain put down the work in her hands, walked over to Yuga, and said, "Let take a look."

As she spoke, she pinched a bit of the incense powder Yuga had made, sniffed it carefully, and even stuck out her tongue to taste it. Then she exclaid in surprise, "Boss, this has already barely reached high-grade incense quality!"

Yuga already knew in his heart, but he still pretended to be surprised and said, "Really? No wonder I felt like everything was going smoother and smoother just now!"

"Congratulations, Boss!" Lain was genuinely happy for Yuga.

Several apprentices who overheard Yuga and Lain's conversation were all very envious. They hadn't expected the boss to reach the high-grade level. Originally, they had been hoping to surpass the boss.

A high-grade incense maker—this was already soone who could handle things independently in the incense-making profession.

The apprentices were all fairly talented, at least slightly more so than Yuga, but since they entered the profession later, catching up to Yuga in a short ti wasn't realistic. Becoming high-grade incense makers themselves would require so grinding.

Now that his skill level had improved, Yuga was in a great mood today. He even ate an extra bowl of rice at lunch.

After lunch, Yuga didn't busy himself with anything else. With a full belly, he curled up at ho and read books—books specifically on energy cubes and incense-making techniques.

At that mont, Duoduo ca upstairs and told Yuga that Ayamu had returned—and that she had brought along her classmates and teacher.

Yuga was stunned when he heard that. Wasn't Ayamu studying at Zenith Academy? Why had she suddenly co back? And with classmates and a teacher, no less?

Zenith Academy was an ancient and secretive breeder academy. Ayamu had only gotten in thanks to Mr. Harrison's recomndation.

But the school had very strict rules for its students. They couldn't just leave whenever they wanted. Since Ayamu had enrolled, she'd only returned once during the New Year holiday. It was unexpected that she'd co back today.

This wasn't a holiday period, so there was no way the academy had given ti off. That ant Ayamu must have returned for sothing important.

Co to think of it, even now Yuga didn't know where Zenith Academy was located. If not for Mr. Harrison's guarantee, Yuga wouldn't have dared send Ayamu off to study there.

Mr. Harrison had once been a student at Zenith Academy himself and was well aware of how formidable that ancient institution was. If Yuga hadn't always treated him so well, he might not have been willing to hand over his recomndation slot to Ayamu!

Yuga quickly ca downstairs and saw Ayamu chatting with Suzuki Sono. Standing beside her were two young n and one woman.

The woman looked to be in her thirties and was probably Ayamu's teacher. The two n were teenagers, not much older than Ayamu herself.

When she saw Yuga coming down the stairs, Ayamu's face lit up with a wide smile. She cheerfully waved and called out.

"Gym Leader!"

Ayamu was a very lively girl. When she smiled, she was like a little sun, easily infecting others with her cheer.

Her voice caught the attention of her teacher and classmates. The three finally laid eyes on the fad Trainer, Yuga, and were simultaneously amazed by how young and handso he was.

Zenith Academy didn't have frequent contact with the outside world, but not to the extent that they hadn't heard of Yuga, such a well-known Trainer. Still, hearing about soone was not the sa as seeing them in person—no amount of stories could compare to the impression of eting him face-to-face.

Yuga stepped forward and said, "Why you suddenly return? You didn't even give a heads-up."

As he spoke, he nodded toward the three standing beside Ayamu as a form of greeting, though since Ayamu hadn't introduced them yet, he didn't say much more.

The three noticed Yuga's gesture and nodded back in acknowledgnt.

Ayamu grinned and said playfully, "Ah, I'll explain that later. Let introduce my teacher and classmates first."

With that, she began introducing the identities of the three.

The only woman among them, who was also their teacher, was nad Chiffon. She was a gentle-looking woman with long black hair cascading down her back. Paired with a pair of black-frad glasses, she looked very low-profile.

However, Yuga could tell that she was very beautiful—only that her beauty was mostly hidden behind those glasses.

As for the two young n, both were Ayamu's seniors. One was nad Toyomi, and the other was nad Tanba. They both seed very polite. After Ayamu introduced Yuga, they both greeted Yuga with great courtesy, and the looks in their eyes were full of curiosity.

To the vast majority of people, Yuga was already considered a legend. He beca famous at a young age, and even now he was still not considered old. It was not strange at all that he would attract the curiosity and admiration of the new generation of Trainers.

After a round of introductions, everyone was more or less acquainted. Since Ayamu didn't rush to explain the reason for their return, Yuga didn't rush to ask either. He only said, "Teacher Chiffon, do you all have a place to stay? If not, why don't you stay at the Verdanturf Gym for now?"

Since they were Ayamu's teacher and classmates, and had co all the way to Verdanturf Town, Yuga couldn't possibly not offer hospitality. Although he didn't know the exact location of Zenith Academy, he knew that it was sowhere in the Kalos Region, and Kalos was not close to Hoenn.

Chiffon and the others had co to Verdanturf Town because they had sothing to ask of Yuga. So upon hearing Yuga's invitation, they naturally agreed readily.

"Then thank you very much, Mr. Shimizu," Teacher Chiffon said.

After that, Yuga asked Beidou to take Teacher Chiffon and the two students to the Verdanturf Gym to settle in, while Ayamu stayed behind.

Once they reached the fourth-floor living room, Yuga asked Ayamu, "So, tell , what's the reason for your return this ti?"

Instead of answering Yuga's question, Ayamu countered with a question: "Gym Leader, have you ever heard of the Ancient Remnant Clans?"

Yuga was surprised for a mont upon hearing "Ancient Remnant Clans," then imdiately answered, "Yes, I've heard of them. Your return this ti is related to the Ancient Remnant Clans?"

Ayamu nodded and said, "That's right. Actually, our Zenith Academy was founded by the Fairy Remnants among the Ancient Remnant Clans, and Teacher Chiffon is also one of the Fairy Remnants."

Yuga was even more surprised upon hearing this. He hadn't expected that Zenith Academy had such an origin. Among the Ancient Remnant Clans, he had already t the Water Remnants, the Dragon Remnants, the Earth Remnants, the Dark Remnants, and the Phychic Remnants. He hadn't expected that now the Fairy Remnants would also reveal themselves.

So of these Ancient Remnant Clans, like the Dragon Remnants (the Dragon Tars and Dragon's Valley), still thrived in prosperity. Others, like the Water Remnants or Phychic Remnants, continued to reproduce quietly. Still others, like the Wind Remnants (also called the Sky Remnants), had already faded from history (beco extinct).

In short, those Ancient Remnant Clans had scattered all over the world for various reasons. So still rembered the glory of being Ancient Remnants and even thought about making a coback, while others had long forgotten their heritage.

"So, the Fairy Remnants want to make contact with ?" Yuga asked.

"Mhm." Ayamu answered honestly, "The guardian pokemon of the Fairy Remnants has encountered a problem, and this problem can only be solved through Fairy Aura. That's why they ca back with ."

In fact, Ayamu herself didn't know what Fairy Aura was. The matters regarding the Ancient Remnant Clans, and the fact that Zenith Academy had been founded by the Fairy Remnants, were only told to her later by Teacher Chiffon. Since the Fairy Remnants needed her to make contact with Yuga, they had no choice but to tell her so of these things.

Upon hearing this, Yuga was shocked: "How could Zenith Academy know that I have Fairy Aura here?"

Was Zenith Academy really that powerful? There were already very few people who even knew what Fairy Aura was, let alone the fact that he had it in his possession—it was an extrely well-kept secret.

Wasn't Zenith Academy always a secluded institution? Could it be that they, like the White Light Intelligence Agency, were secretly conducting intelligence work? At this mont, Yuga felt a strong sense of wariness toward the Fairy Remnants.

Ayamu shook her head: "I don't know. They just wanted to help introduce them."

In fact, Yuga really was mistaken. Zenith Academy had indeed always been reclusive and had not been gathering any intelligence. They had always been focused solely on cultivating outstanding Breeders.

The reason they ca to find Yuga was because their headmaster owned a Carbink. Before being captured, that Carbink had been a citizen of the Diamond Domain and still maintained contact with the Diamond Domain even now.

After the guardian Pokemon of the Fairy Remnants encountered problems, the headmaster wanted to use his Carbink to request help from the Diamond Domain. But the core of the Diamond Domain had always remained distant from humans, and it was impossible for them to intervene on behalf of the Fairy Remnants.

Moreover, within the Diamond Domain, the only one possessing Fairy Aura was Princess Diancie, and Diancie hadn't yet fully matured. How could the Diamond Domain possibly agree to let her act rashly?

However, although the Diamond Domain refused to help directly, they gave the Fairy Remnants a clue, telling them that the Gym Leader of Verdanturf Town, Shimizu Yuga, might be able to help them. And that's how Teacher Chiffon ended up bringing people to Verdanturf Town.

While Yuga was speaking with Ayamu, the three people from Zenith Academy who were at the Gym were also talking among themselves.

"I didn't expect that would be the legendary Mr. Shimizu. He's so young!" Toyomi said with excitent. For an ordinary person, it was only natural to be thrilled to et a legendary Trainer.

"Yeah, yeah, he's totally different from how I imagined him," Tanba added.

Teacher Chiffon stood quietly to the side, listening to her two students talk without joining the conversation.

Toyomi and Tanba didn't know the real reason why Teacher Chiffon ca to Verdanturf Town. They simply thought they were visiting the YoYo Day Care. After all, the Pokémon raised at YoYo Day Care were very famous, and as Breeders, it was normal for them to visit and learn.

The people of the Fairy Remnants would never casually reveal that their guardian Pokemon had encountered a problem. If it weren't necessary to have Ayamu introduce them to Yuga, they wouldn't even have told Ayamu about it.
