I'm the Owner of the Pokémon Day Care In the World of Pokémon Chapter 104: Crucial Point
In the morning, Yuga opened his groggy eyes and, after sitting up in bed, instinctively checked the Trainer Store on his system.
Even though the store had maintained its routine of alternating between Berries and Poké Balls for so many days, Yuga believed that dreams were worth having. Just in case a golden item appeared!
Sure enough, he noticed amidst the nurous white-frad items a blue-frad one—a Basic Evolution Qualification Potion.
However, aside from Linoone, all of Yuga's Pokémon had green or higher Qualifications, which ant that this Basic Evolution Qualification Potion could only be used by Linoone.
But Linoone had truly been of great assistance lately. Apart from guarding his store, it had helped manage the Berry orchard and tended to the flower Terrains alongside the Baby Pokémon. It was diligent indeed.
Especially, its Rototiller skill had proven invaluable—a true expert at farming. It kept the tree orchard and flower Terrains in the Ecopark ticulously organized.
After washing up, Yuga found Linoone lying at the store's entrance, and beckoned it to co into the Ecopark.
While Linoone wasn't aware of the reason Yuga had called it, it obediently followed.
Pokémon, being creatures sensitive to things beneficial to them, imdiately recognized that the Evolution Qualification Potion Yuga presented must be advantageous to itself, the mont Yuga took it out of his system bag.
Drinking down the Evolution Qualification Potion Yuga handed it, Linoone felt a warm sensation spreading throughout its body, imnsely comfortable. However, it remained unaware of the specific changes it had undergone.
Only Yuga's discerning gaze could truly perceive Linoone's transformation.
...
Type: Normal
Gender: Male
Ability: Pickup
Qualification: Green
Level: 46
Moves: Play Rough, Rototiller, Tackle, Sand Attack, Headbutt, Odor Sleuth, Slash, Shadow Ball.
...
The change in Linoone's Qualification ca as no surprise—it smoothly transitioned from yellow to green, and its level rose by one.
After examining Linoone's status, Yuga crouched down and patted its head, saying with a smile, "Alright, you've had it. Go have so fun now."
Although Linoone was uncertain about the effects of what Yuga had just given it, it couldn't be mistaken about how it felt. The item must have brought about unexpected benefits. As a result, it felt even more grateful to Yuga.
Having assisted Linoone in completing its Evolution Qualification, Yuga remained in the Ecopark, spending the morning engaging in skill training tasks with his Pokémon.
The training for the other Pokémon was part of their daily routine, with each capable of independently completing its training task. After all, they had been with Yuga for quite so ti, and these routines had gradually beco ingrained habits. Even if Yuga occasionally couldn't spare ti to train with them, they could still complete their tasks efficiently.
The only concern for Yuga was Floette's grasp of Misty Terrain concept.
Despite several days of practice and experintation, Floette hadn't been successful in employing Misty Terrain even once.
Consequently, Floette was not only feeling extrely frustrated, but was also growing increasingly impatient.
Observing Floette's vexed deanor, Yuga could only console it, saying, "Floette, there's no need to rush. We'll take it slow. We have plenty of ti."
Although Floette nodded in apparent agreent with Yuga's consoling words, its mood hadn't truly improved. Seeing this, Yuga couldn't help but feel a sense of worry.
How can Floette learn Misty Terrain?
Yuga himself wasn't particularly inventive, unable to co up with a surefire thod to help Floette comprehend Misty Terrain. Thus, he decided to call Audino over, who was currently assisting with the training of the Baby Pokémon.
Under Audino's careful guidance, the Miltanks were now capable of effectively using Heal Bell. As such, they had taken over the task of supervising the training of the Baby Pokémon.
Addressing Audino as he approached, Yuga asked, "Audino, do you rember how you initially learned Misty Terrain?"
In response to Yuga's query, Audino shook his head with a puzzled expression.
Yuga, sowhat befuddled, inquired, "Did you learn it naturally?"
Audino nodded.
Yuga inquired further, "No special training or anything?"
Audino nodded again.
Could this be attributed to Qualification disparity? Audino was naturally a Pokémon with a native Green Qualification, while even after using the Basic Evolution Potion, Floette's Qualification only improved from Yellow to Green.
Yuga also noticed that Linoone, with its Yellow Qualification, had fewer skills compared to the Green-Qualified Swellow. Yet their levels were nearly identical, they lived in the sa environnt, and had been close friends for quite so ti.
This was the power gap caused by Qualification disparities.
Since Audino didn't provide any helpful inspiration, Yuga began to consider how to guide Floette in learning Misty Terrain.
All the prerequisites for using Misty Terrain had been explained to Floette by Audino. So why couldn't Floette employ it?
Just as Yuga was pondering this, the Great Flygon flew out from the Sub-Ecopark's light gate, seemingly on its way out of the Ecopark.
As Yuga observed the Great Flygon flying past him, he suddenly understood.
Indeed, Floette was just Floette—it wasn't Florges. Given its current level, it didn't have the qualifications to learn Misty Terrain skill.
For Floette to learn Misty Terrain skill, it would require a level of at least forty. However, Yuga's Floette was only at level 30, far from the necessary level to learn Misty Terrain skill, unless through inheritance.
Florges, on the other hand, wasn't bound by level restrictions to learn Misty Terrain; as long as Floette evolved into Florges, it would naturally fulfill all the conditions required to learn Misty Terrain skill.
Previously, Yuga had believed that Floette needed to lay a solid foundation before evolving, without realizing that this approach was actually limiting its growth.
In reality, for Floette to evolve into Florges, it only needed to be around level 19, and the evolution could be achieved through a Shiny Stone. However, Yuga's Floette was already at level 30, well past the level necessary for evolution.
The advantage of requiring an item for evolution was that it made the process relatively straightforward.
Typically, even if a Pokémon reaches the appropriate level, it might not necessarily evolve smoothly. It often requires extensive and challenging training to achieve evolution.
However, for Pokémon that require an item to evolve, as long as the item is provided, they can evolve imdiately. Of course, the value of evolution items is well known—sumd up in two words, "big spender."
This scenario exemplifies the saying, "When one door closes, another opens." Both forms of evolution have their pros and cons.
For natural evolution, you need to invest ti and effort; for imdiate evolution, you need to contribute from your wallet.
