Chapter 1209: After You Die
After Fan Zijin finished his al, he thought about how he had to go ho to face the brats. Then, he looked at Qi Haoran, who was leisurely drinking tea. No matter how he thought about it, he felt unbalanced. Therefore, he simply stood up and ssed up Qi Haoran’s official docunts, then ssed up the office. After glancing at the dumbfounded Qi Haoran, he stomped his feet with his hands behind his back and left, feeling refreshed.
Qi Haoran looked at the ssy docunts and jumped up with a roar. “Fan Zijin, co back!”
Fan Zijin walked out of the Ministry of War calmly. When he heard Qi Haoran’s roar, his eyebrows did not even move. ‘If you have the ability, chase after .’
Qi Haoran did not dare to chase after him, so Fan Zijin got into the carriage and went ho.
The officials of the Ministry of War only felt their hearts skip a beat montarily. Then, they went back to doing what they were supposed to do.
They were already used to such roars.
Qi Haoran walked around the office twice and finally opened the door angrily. He casually grabbed a court official and was about to ask him to go in and tidy up the room when he rembered that there were confidential docunts inside. He could only let go of him with an ashen face and wave his hand. “Go, go.”
Qi Haoran went to tidy up the room bitterly.
Fan Zijin, on the other hand, closed his eyes to rest while the carriage headed ho. The four children had already eaten their fill and were lying on the bed taking an afternoon nap.
Seeing that the four of them were in such a leisurely state, Fan Zijin’s little smugness disappeared. He imdiately twisted the children’s ears and dragged them out of bed.
In short, none of their articles passed his assessnt.
Tiger Head imdiately raised his hand to touch his head. “Heavens, I finally know what it ans to have a bucket of cold water poured over my head!”
Fan Zijin, who was about to drink tea, almost choked to death. He put down the teacup and pointed at Tiger Head. “Speak properly!”
Tiger Head retracted his gaze from the sky and looked at him accusingly. “Second Uncle, do you know how much ti I spent writing this article? Four hours! I barely slept last night!”
“Heh, so you only slept for four hours a night. Where did the rest of the ti go?”
Tiger Head straightened his neck and said, “My mother said that children should sleep for more than nine hours a day. Any less than that and we’ll be listless. I sacrificed four hours of sleep last night. Isn’t that equivalent to not sleeping?”
“Is your mother raising pigs? Go to the various academies and ask how many students get to sleep six hours a day. When they were younger than you, they were already studying hard. You’re far inferior to them!” Fan Zijin slamd the table and snapped, “In short, I said that if your article fails the assessnt and that’s final. As for why you didn’t pass, Little An, I want to hear from you first. Why do you think your article didn’t pass my assessnt?”
Little An held Tiger Head back and looked at his father calmly. “I knew after breakfast that my article definitely wouldn’t pass the assessnt.”
“Oh, you know your place.”
Little An ignored his father’s sarcasm and continued calmly, “Because you’re from a privileged class, you definitely won’t allow sothing that harms your interests to exist.”
Fan Zijin choked. Seeing that his son was speechless, he asked after a while, “Then are you going to give up on this strange idea?”
“No.” Little An’s eyes lit up. He clenched his fists and said, “Fourth Aunt said that we have to persevere in doing things. Only by giving sothing our best shot will we not regret it. How can I give up before I even tried?”
Fan Zijin pointed at Little An and asked calmly, “Then do you want to be enemies with your father?”
“No, am I such an unfilial person?” Little An despised his father.
Fan Zijin was relieved. “If you’re unwilling to give up on this idea and won’t go against , what do you plan to do? Let be clear upfront. You won’t be able to convince . I’ll never support you in doing such a thing.”
Fan Zijin clearly wanted to make things difficult for Little An.
However, Little An nodded calmly. “I know that Daddy is very stubborn and only Fourth Uncle can occasionally convince you. So, I won’t attempt to persuade you. I just have to train my physique and live well. I’ll only raise this idea after you die. By then, I won’t be unfilial.”
The other three children’s eyes lit up and they said excitedly, “Brother Little An, this is a good idea.”
Little An looked at them smugly.
Tiger Head said excitedly, “Then I’ll make so ‘flying birds’ first. When my father dies, I’ll start testing if they can fly people into the sky…”
The children began to think seriously about the things that they were going to do when their parents were no longer around since there would be no one stopping them then.
Fan Zijin pointed at the four children, livid to the point where he could not speak.
A mont later, the howls of the children ca from the house. The servants in Prince An’s residence were so frightened that they almost fell to the ground. When they heard the howls of the young masters coming from the house, the servants were puzzled. “When did King Rong arrive?”
“King Rong isn’t here. I think it’s our Prince in the room…”
The servants were silent for a mont before they beca anxious. “Hurry up and invite our Princess Consort back. No, she definitely won’t be able to persuade His Highness. Hurry up and invite King Rong.”
“Let’s go get Queen Consort Rong first. She can get here more quickly…”
If the servants said that Qi Haoran was beating up the children, Mu Yangling and Little Madam Xia wouldn’t even bat an eyelid. This was because despite threatening to hit the kids almost every day, Qi Haoran couldn’t even bear to kick their butts or hit them with his hands. He would just roar loudly and be done with it.
However, the servant reported that Fan Zijin was the one who was beating the kids up.
Both Mu Yangling and Little Madam Xia imdiately put down what they were doing and rushed to Prince An’s Residence.
This was really too rare; the number of tis Fan Zijin had hit the children could be counted on one hand. This was because Qi Haoran and Mu Yangling had always been in charge of doing it. Fan Zijin only had to add insult to injury and punish them by making them copy books or kneel in the ancestral hall. When had he ever personally beaten the children up?
Mu Yangling and Little Madam Xia thought that the children must have done sothing infuriating. Otherwise, Zijin would not fly into such a rage.
When the two of them rushed to Prince An’s study, the beating had already ended.
Fan Zijin was sitting on a chair and panting, while the four children were standing in a row with their heads lowered. When he saw Mu Yangling enter, he rushed towards her angrily. “You ca at the right ti. Look at how these kids turned out under your guidance. I’m still alive and well, but they’re waiting for to die!”
Mu Yangling looked at the four children with a knife-like gaze. The children lowered their heads and did not dare to make a sound.
Little Madam Xia was also stunned. How unfilial!
Little Madam Xia clutched her chest and stood stiffly at the side.
Mu Yangling’s gaze darted between them before she pointed at Little An and asked, “Little An, tell what happened.”
Little An looked up and cried. “Fourth Aunt, I know I was wrong. We didn’t an that. We just didn’t express it well.”
Sensing that Fan Zijin’s breathing had beco heavier, Mu Yangling hurriedly asked, “Then what was your intention?”
Little An thought for a mont and said seriously, “I just feel that it’s not easy for my parents, so I hope they can be happy for the rest of their lives. Since I know that changing the law will make Father unhappy and we could even beco enemies because of that, wouldn’t it be unfilial for to insist? If I’m unwilling to give up on my ideals, I’ll just note it down first and wait for Father…” At this point, Little An glanced at his father carefully and lowered his head to whisper, “I’ll do it when Father is gone. This way, I can both be filial to Father and not let myself down.”
Tiger Head, Little Lion, and Qi Wensu nodded repeatedly at the side. “That’s what we ant, too. Second Uncle, don’t misunderstand that we’re hoping for Daddy to die.”
