Evelina had a hard ti reconciling everything. She hadn’t just inherited three lifetis of mories—she’d inherited experience too. Fiona’s know‑how for surviving and operating in the underworld, and Trish’s sheer skill and lethality with both marksmanship and close-quarters combat were now hers.
It was a bonus, sothing she definitely needed after being forcefully burdened with mories and personalities that weren’t originally her own.
She stumbled through the forest, trying to change her surroundings to calm her mind. Her own self was still the most dominant of the three souls inside her, but that didn’t an she was entirely herself anymore.
It felt like an identity crisis. She wasn’t sure how to act or even how to move.
"So, I died? Both in the Shadow Society’s undercity and... Beijing?"
[Light Manipulation]
"Not only that, but I even kept my light magic..."
’Did I just say my...?’
She was adapting to the rging personalities faster than she’d expected. Then again, with their souls now inside her, it was hard not to.
"Cael...? So he tried reviving them... well, —ugh, whatever."
Evelina snickered and shook her head.
"I’ll just call them ."
She dipped into Fiona’s mories, studying the layout of the undercity—especially the place where she’d been killed.
It was enough for her to teleport there.
But considering she didn’t know the exact coordinates and the sheer distance involved, solving the formula for a jump like that was humanly impossible.
She wasn’t as good as Cael when it ca to teleportation.
Fortunately, she had soone who was.
She tapped her choker.
[Demonic Step]
If she couldn’t do it herself, she’d just have a centuries‑old demoness do it for her.

She reappeared at the exact spot where she had died, where she rembered being riddled with bullets right after protecting Cael.
It was... odd. She felt jealous, but at the sa ti, she didn’t.
Technically, she was the one who saved him—but also... not really.
"This place is a ss..."
She headed toward the only remaining presence of life in the area, noticing patches of black fla flickering along the way. It was strange; she had never heard of black flas before.
Curious, she crouched beside a pile of rubble still wreathed in those flas and hovered her palm over it. Surprisingly, it didn’t burn.
Then she touched it directly. The fire seed to part around her fingers, like it refused to burn her. From that alone, she knew exactly who it belonged to.
"Cael..."
She stood, realizing how far away he actually was, and decided to take a shortcut—sothing so obvious that the person she was planning to find would co to her instead.
Besides, if her mories were right, and if she had counted every second correctly... Cael shouldn’t have had enough ti to leave yet.
Especially with...
His unique eye gone.
[Tempting Pulse]
*** Cael’s POV
"You have to be kidding ."
I tried to find an exit to the ruined underground city, but it was impossible to get out, especially with the sheer amount of flas and rubble everywhere.
Signs were gone, tunnels were blocked, and I might have even trapped myself in here.
I couldn’t exactly teleport myself out either. I was way too deep underground, and the train alone should have sent sowhere far—so far that even the closest destination I could co up with gave an impossible spell formula.
It didn’t help that I no longer had the eye to simplify the formula.
[Black Fla Manipulation]
I burned through another pile of rubble, hoping to uncover a blocked exit. But nothing... it was just another dead end that led to another storage unit.
"So fire’s my new attunent, huh? Definitely far easier to use than light. Guess you can’t really beat attunents that were naturally given."
Too bad it didn’t affect [Dark Step]. Unlike my other spells, which were given the cursed adjective, Dark Step seed unaffected.
No more chaos, no more divine. Not sure if I would call this an upgrade, really.
But... as long as Fiona’s alive, it’ll be worth it.
FWOOSH!
A gust of wind suddenly blew past , the hairs on my skin quickly standing up the mont I felt it.
It was a normal gust of wind, but... there was sothing familiar within it.
"Fiona...? Wait, Evelina... ?" I stuttered. "T-Trish!?"
All three of them? Here? W-What?
[Black Fla Manipulation]
I coated my foot in flas and used it to glide across the ruined undercity, passing multiple bodies who hadn’t escaped in ti.
I really did a number on this place, huh? Guess my plan to use the shadow society to do my own bidding was a failure.
FWOOSH!
I rounded a corner.
And then...
What t ...
Was...
Just Evelina.
But not really. I could sense sothing different about her.
"C-Cael?"
Evelina locked eyes with and... she smiled, very brightly, like three smiles combined into one person.
[Dark Step]
She appeared imdiately in front of while I was still speeding toward her, catching off guard. I lost focus on my spell formula, and we went tumbling toward the cold stone floor.
But before we could sustain any damage...
[Light Guardian]
VWOOM!
We simply rolled harmlessly, and I found myself lying on the cold floor with Evelina on top of , tears of relief and happiness streaming from her eyes.
"You’re alive!"
She laughed.
It was... a familiar laugh—not sothing I had ever heard from Evelina before, but sothing I’d heard from Trish or Fiona.
W-Was this... is this what Beelzebub ant!?
"You bastard! What in the world did you do to !?"
She shouted, but there was no anger or spite in her voice; in fact, she was laughing lightheartedly. All three personalities were finally coalescing into one united person.
It was still rough, but at least they now worked together, acting as one.
"Gods..."
She breathed out, then suddenly grabbed my collar and leaned in to kiss , her lips demanding and rough.
"That’s for the other two ’s."
Evelina tilted her head in mischief.
She certainly got over her current situation quickly.
Well... if I was correct, at least. I still needed to confirm if my assumption was right.
"F-Fiona, Trish?"
"Already figured it out, huh?"
