Chapter 66: The Heroine Bai Bing’er exclaims, “Lin Tian! Only You Understand !!”
“Lin Tian, I saw you at North Arctic Fresh yesterday…”
That one sentence from Bai Bing’er nearly scared Lin Tian to death! Mainly because… last night, he went there with Zhao ngng!
Even though nothing outrageous happened between them, it wasn’t sothing he could exactly talk about openly, especially with Shang Chan and Zhao Dongyun both present!
If Shang Chan found out that he sent her ho to Ting Chan Pavilion only to turn around and have dinner with her younger sister… he’d be done for. And with Shang Chan, he might still talk his way out of it, but Zhao Dongyun? That would be real hell… If that old father found out Lin Tian took his daughter out in the middle of the night for dinner, who knows what might happen? Even if Lin Tian tried to explain that Zhao ngng had dragged him along, Zhao Dongyun definitely wouldn’t buy it!
Lin Tian’s face twitched nervously. He glanced at Bai Bing’er, swallowed hard, and was completely panicked inside.
[Holy crap! Bai Bing’er was there too yesterday? Shit… don’t tell she saw with Zhao ngng?! I’m dead! I’m actually dead! Old Zhao’s probably sharpening a knife as we speak… But why is this woman doing this?! Can’t she just pretend she didn’t see anything and let it go?!]
It’s not like Lin Tian couldn’t own up to what he’d done. Even if the truth ca out, he wouldn’t be guilty or ashad. But things were too complicated right now. He didn’t want to go to the Xuan Yuan family’s estate. If news of last night’s dinner reached Shang Chan or Zhao Dongyun at this ti, then there’d be no way out!
No matter how smooth he was with words, Zhao Dongyun would never let a “potential threat” to his daughter walk free!
What Lin Tian didn’t know was that thanks to hearing his inner thoughts, Shang Chan already knew everything about him and Zhao ngng. Now, hearing his flustered ntal rambling, Shang Chan pressed her lips together, feigning curiosity with a cold and composed expression.
“Oh? Lin Tian, did you go down the mountain last night?”
Lin Tian could feel the cold sweat dripping down his back. What was this… a Shura field?
Why did it feel like he was surrounded by a bunch of love rivals? He didn’t even have any romantic relationship with Shang Chan, Zhao ngng, or Bai Bing’er! At best, their connections were professional, nothing more. But the events of the past few days with Zhao ngng and Shang Chan were anything but simple…
He forced down his anxiety and let out a dry cough, putting on a calm smile.
“Ha… yeah, I went to North Ice Fresh for so sashimi. Heard it was good… and turns out, the rumors were true. It was pretty great!”
anwhile, deep inside, Lin Tian was praying furiously.
[Bai Bing’er, I’m begging you—don’t say any more! If Shang Chan or Zhao Dongyun hears it, they’ll really kill !!]
Shang Chan rolled her eyes inwardly. Do I really seem like soone that petty? As if I’d kill you over sothing like this.
She’d conveniently forgotten how panicked she was when she first heard Lin Tian’s inner thoughts, discovering he’d been with her sister. She had even cried back then…
Zhao ngng also heard Lin Tian’s inner monologue involving her but remained silent. If Bai Bing’er really exposed them, she was prepared to co clean to her father and sister. After all, she’d already accepted her feelings. She liked being around Lin Tian. It made her feel relaxed, safe. If she could stay by his side forever like this, that would be pretty nice too…
The girl sat quietly beside him, her big eyes gleaming with joy. She wasn’t nervous at all, even if Shang Chan or Zhao Dongyun found out.
anwhile, Bai Bing’er had clearly heard Lin Tian’s thoughts. She pursed her lips and smirked lazily.
“Yesterday, I happened to be at North Ice Fresh too. I saw you getting out of a BMW Mini…”
Cold sweat trickled down Lin Tian’s back.
“And then…”
He stared at her nervously, nearly ready to leap up and cover her mouth. Bai Bing’er was clearly enjoying this. But seeing him so terrified, she decided not to push it. He might actually drop dead from a heart attack. Her red lips curved into a playful smile, and she wrinkled her delicate nose.
“Then I went in to eat too. Didn’t see you again… I was thinking of saying hi, but didn’t get the chance.”
Lin Tian let out a long breath of relief.
[Phew… so she didn’t see Zhao ngng after all! Why the hell did you scare like that then?! You just saw . Was that worth causing a ntal breakdown?!]
He felt like he’d just returned from the depths of hell back to the land of the living.
[Good thing… she didn’t see Zhao ngng. Damn it, we didn’t even do anything shady, but it still felt like sneaking around! What a ss…]
Bai Bing’er gave him a sweet smile. Shang Chan and Zhao ngng exchanged glances. Neither believed that Bai Bing’er had co over just to ntion a missed greeting. They instinctively felt that Bai Bing’er wouldn’t do sothing so pointless.
Then suddenly, Bai Bing’er leaned close to Lin Tian, whispering fast and low that only he could hear it. She spoke quickly and softly.
“Actually, I did see Zhao ngng yesterday. I even saw what happened in the private room… Lin Tian, let’s talk about this at the castle. Don’t even think of running away, or I’ll tell Zhao Dongyun and Shang Chan everything…”
Before Shang Chan and Zhao ngng could react, she smiled faintly and returned to her seat.
Lin Tian was left frozen in place, eyes blank.
[Damn it… Zhang Wuji’s mom was right: the prettier the woman, the more dangerous she is!]
She did see Zhao ngng and still lied about it?!
Lin Tian was beyond frustrated.
[How could things line up like this? I took her to a niche, high-end restaurant, and still ran into Bai Bing’er?!]
What he didn’t know was, North Arctic Fresh was owned by Bai Bing’er’s family…
Though she had whispered, Lin Tian caught every single word. The ssage was crystal clear:
“If you run, I will expose you, and Zhao Dongyun will tear you apart.”
Lin Tian felt numb.
