Chapter 30: A Girl’s Secret Feelings—Lin Tian Nearly Taken Down!

If Zhao ngng asked Lin Tian to call her “ngng,” checked if he had any dietary restrictions, and ordered him honey water could still be explained as her being a friendly and considerate girl despite being from a wealthy family…

Then she picked up a small spoon, scooped out a bite of bluefin toro, and held it up to Lin Tian’s mouth—this was no longer sothing that could be brushed off as just having a “good personality.”

No matter how kind soone was, feeding another person? That’s not sothing you just do.

Forget acquaintances—how many even among family, parents and children, siblings, would actually feed each other like that?

In Lin Tian’s experience, aside from parents feeding small children, the only ti sothing like this happened… was between lovers.

So what the hell was this little girl thinking?

Lin Tian was full of shock and quickly put on a cold expression.

“Second Miss, please rember your status. I don’t like being fed by others… just eat your own.”

Zhao ngng pursed her lips and replied gently, “But it’s really delicious, just give it a try…”

Lin Tian’s mouth twitched.

[Is this about whether it tastes good or not? I’m afraid if I take this one bite, your dad might chop up soday, or Jiang Yifeng might find a way to take out! Miss, I’m begging you—just eat your food properly, and let’s go ho and get so sleep, okay?]

Admittedly, being doted on like this by such a stunning girl—whose beauty was on par with Shang Chan—Lin Tian couldn’t help but have so ssy, unwanted thoughts.

But all of that had to co after staying alive.

Jiang Yifeng wasn’t dead yet. What happened at the Zhao family’s ancestral banquet wasn’t even a real setback for soone like him—a child of destiny, the protagonist blessed with fortune. At most, it was just a slightly bumpy start.

Sooner or later, Jiang Yifeng would make a coback. If, by then, Lin Tian was still entangled with Shang Chan and Zhao ngng—two of the fate-bound female leads—then he really would be walking straight down the sa tragic path as in the original story…

Having lived a second life, Lin Tian just wanted to live quietly and peacefully.

He steeled himself, gently set down his chopsticks, and with a dark expression and a chilling gaze, looked straight at Zhao ngng.

“Second Miss, please show so self-respect! Otherwise, forgive for not accompanying you further!”

To be fair, at this mont Lin Tian’s expression, tone, and overall deanor were all cold to the extre.

Any normal girl—if her boyfriend even acted like this—would probably be crying the next second.

However, Lin Tian didn’t know… that Zhao ngng could hear his inner thoughts.

In fact, she had already filled in the blanks herself about why Lin Tian was treating her this way—maybe it was Jiang Yifeng’s threat, maybe pressure from the Zhao family, or maybe just her own naivety.

Lin Tian’s coldness only made Zhao ngng feel even more heartache… and sorrow.

What hurt Zhao ngng wasn’t being treated with cold indifference—it was realizing how thoughtless her actions had been tonight, and yet Lin Tian still chose to accompany her.

The boy’s inner voice had pierced through her defenses and torn away the mask she wore, and from that mont on, perhaps without even realizing it, Zhao ngng had begun to form a subtle dependence on him. Maybe it was because of the mystery he carried, or maybe it was his sincerity… or perhaps it was simply because the situation itself held the kind of quiet, stirring romance that a young girl’s heart instinctively yearns for.

In any case, all Zhao ngng could think about now was how to make Lin Tian happy again—not that she had just been rejected or ignored.

She had even lost a part of her ability to think rationally. All she wanted was to get closer to Lin Tian, unaware that simply being quiet and giving him space would have been the kindest thing she could do for him.

But in the heart of a young girl harboring a crush, being quiet felt like missing a chance to get closer.

So, almost instinctively, she avoided making that choice.

The emotions of a girl in love are often passionate and irrational—sothing Zhao ngng couldn’t recognize in herself, and Lin Tian certainly couldn’t either.

…….

Facing Lin Tian’s cold gaze and expression, Zhao ngng stubbornly kept the spoonful of bluefin toro held near his lips.

When he showed no intention of opening his mouth, the girl gently pressed her lips together, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. But just as it seed they were about to fall, she forced them back with all her strength.

Still…

Acting out tears was easy. But when one truly wanted to cry, how could the tears be held back?

Lin Tian watched as the girl struggled to contain her emotions, only for tears to slip down her cheeks despite her efforts. For a mont, he couldn’t tell if Zhao ngng was putting on a show… or if it was all real.

But with the harsh lesson from Shang Chan still fresh in his mind, Lin Tian—though he didn’t want to see the girl hurt—truly didn’t want to get entangled with her any further.

“…Miss Zhao,” he said at last, voice softening a fraction. “Put it down. I… I’ll eat it myself.”

Lin Tian turned his head away, unwilling to look at Zhao ngng’s tear-streaked face any longer.

Damn it, this is all Jiang Yifeng’s fault! If it weren’t for that guy, would I really have to treat such a sweet, adorable girl like this? She really seed hurt just now, didn’t she?

I just hope she realizes the truth and stops approaching for no reason. I’m just a small-ti villain—nothing special. I can’t handle the affections of a heroine like her!

Hearing Lin Tian’s thoughts, Zhao ngng’s tears slowly stopped.

To her, Lin Tian’s voice carried an almost magical power—able to stir and still the tides of her joy, anger, and sorrow.

“…Mm… Lin Tian, I’ll listen to you,” she whispered softly.

Though her words ant she was giving up the idea of feeding him, a deeper look of dependence began to bloom in her eyes.

Lin Tian turned around in astonishnt at her words.

What the hell? What’s with this girl? She’s still not mad?!

This isn’t sothing personality alone can explain, right? With the way I just spoke to her, any other girl would’ve flipped the table and stord off. If it were Shang Chan, I’d probably be on the floor already… then again, maybe not. Huh… What’s up with these sisters, seriously?

And just as he turned back, his gaze t Zhao ngng’s.

Her eyes, still shimring with the traces of tears, were clear and gentle, like a mountain spring untouched by the dust of the world.

In that instant, it was as if Lin Tian had gained the ability to read emotions from soone’s expression.

From Zhao ngng’s eyes, he saw joy, sorrow, heartache, caution—and a deep sense of closeness.

So many emotions swirled in those bright, glistening eyes, as if the girl’s face had beco a landscape painting too intricate for most to comprehend. Yet hidden amidst the mountains and rivers of that emotional canvas was a burning, unspoken passion—sothing only Lin Tian, the one caught in her gaze, could truly see.

After a long pause, he let out a quiet sigh.

For just a fleeting second, it felt like his heart had skipped a beat.

In that instant, Lin Tian couldn’t help but question himself—should soone with eyes that pure really be hurt or rejected by ?

But the next mont, a sudden, intense sense of danger snapped him back to reality!

Lin Tian frowned. That brief sensation… it hadn’t been his imagination, had it?

If his instincts were right, then it was probably that “Villain Aura” he’d suspected before!

So it’s true. It’s not about what I do—but the mont my thoughts begin to stray from the path, that villainous aura kicks in imdiately?

Lin Tian pondered silently, and at the sa ti, a new thought began to form—he might’ve just figured out how to test the boundaries of this so-called Villain Aura.

He just needed to identify a few potential ways to offset or weaken the Villain Aura—and then test each one. If any of them worked, that strange sensation he’d just experienced would surely return.

After a brief hesitation, Lin Tian nodded slightly, his tone unchanged.

“Mm, go ahead and eat… I’ll take you ho afterward.”

Zhao ngng nodded obediently, quietly savoring the delicate dishes in small bites.

Only now, her thoughts were no longer on the al she had long been looking forward to. Her entire focus was on Lin Tian.

When he needed a tissue, she handed it to him before he asked.

When he furrowed his brow slightly, she imdiately asked the chef to make sothing milder.

And when the chef had already arranged the dishes neatly, Zhao ngng would carefully rearrange them, bit by bit, so they’d be easier for Lin Tian to reach and eat.

No matter how you looked at it, she was still the second daughter of the Zhao family—naturally, she wasn’t very good at doing these things.

But her clumsy, earnest movents were full of care and affection, and for a mont, they rendered Lin Tian completely silent.

【Is this really the kind of treatnt a low-level villain like should be getting?! Zhao ngng, do you even realize what you’re doing? Do you even know who I am?! What the hell is going on?!】

Lin Tian scread inwardly, his face still blank, but he was clearly starting to feel overwheld.

The pressure of being so ticulously cared for by soone like Zhao ngng—a top-tier beauty—was simply too much.

anwhile, Zhao ngng, hearing Lin Tian’s thoughts, quietly curled her lips into a gentle smile.

I don’t care who you are, or what your status is. As long as… I can stay by your side, that’s enough.

That was what she said in her heart, and as the realization settled in, a soft blush blood on her cheeks.

It seed the young girl had beco aware of her feelings—and was now trying to face them head-on.

And everything happening inside the sixth Extre Ice Room had fallen clearly into Bai Bing’er’s gaze.

Now, it wasn’t just Lin Tian who was stunned—Bai Bing’er was also wearing a look of utter shock!

This… this is Shang Chan’s little sister?

Isn’t she acting like she’s that man’s lover?!

What exactly is his relationship with Shang Chan? And what about Zhao ngng?

And Zhao ngng, pampered and spoiled as she is, is actually being this attentive to him? And he looks completely uninterested?!

Thankfully, Bai Bing’er could only watch from afar and couldn’t hear what was being said in Room 6.

Had she heard the conversation between Lin Tian and Zhao ngng, her confusion would’ve multiplied tenfold…

With a glint of intrigue in her eyes, Bai Bing’er seed even more curious. After pondering for a mont, she casually picked up her phone and made a call.

An elderly voice ca through on the other end. Bai Bing’er smiled and said—

“Uncle Li, help look into soone… He appeared at the Zhao residence tonight, dressed in an all-black suit. He seems to have a close relationship with Shang Chan. Mhm… I’ll send you a photo shortly.”

After ending the call, Bai Bing’er continued watching with great interest.

It had been a long ti since she had encountered soone—or sothing—this intriguing.

Those who knew Bai Bing’er well were aware: she only ever got invested in things or people that were unique or fascinating.

And once her curiosity was piqued, this woman would pour herself into it with boundless passion…

anwhile, Lin Tian had no clue that he was already being investigated. He silently continued his al.

Over forty minutes later, the final side dishes were served, and both chefs let out a collective sigh of relief.

Lin Tian, too, subtly relaxed.

Zhao ngng looked at him expectantly, her clear, innocent phoenix eyes blinking softly as she asked in a gentle voice:

“Lin Tian, are you full? Should we go sowhere else for more?”

Lin Tian’s expression twitched.

What the hell? Isn’t tonight supposed to be about keeping you company? Why are you suddenly asking if I want to keep eating?
